The food is good but the service is horrible. We ordered half orders but got full orders. There was only 2 of us and made it clear to our waiter before we ordered. We clearly said "only half orders on everything we order" No one refilled our drinks or asked how the meal was. It was like we were forgotten about. We waited about 30 minutes for the food. The waiter was rude and didn't seem like he wanted to be at work. We would ask a question about the order and he would just answer yes or no with an attitude then run off. As a former waitress I expect better service. A table should never see your attitude. I only left a 5 dollar tip and I typically leave 15-20 dollars because I know how draining it can be. Giving this place only two stars, only because of the terrible service from the cashier this evening. I had a to go order so upon getting there and the cashier finally attending me I said can you make sure my order is correct since it has been wrong in the past and I don't want to get all the way home and it not be what I ordered. This review is based ONLY on a call ahead/pickup order experience only. We ordered food to go for a large group, and this place fit the bill. They were able to put together the order on very short notice, and the prices weren't too bad. The food tasted hot and fresh when we received it, for the most part. Only 2 issues of note: first, we called to make a change to the order just a couple of minutes after it was initially placed and were told "the order is already halfway done, we can't make any changes." Ok, not a huge deal, but the person on the phone seemed a little brusque. Secondly, the BBQ pork was very dry. I'm not a huge fan of BBQ pork, so this didn't affect me personally, but everyone in our group that did eat the pork mentioned that it was not very good. This restaurant was recommended from a sales person at Dillards at the mall. We were seated right away we reserved service right away and the food came out super quick. We ordered shrimp with vegetables and beef and broccoli with white rice and both dishes were delicious. The staff was super friendly and very efficient. I enjoy the food here. Once I came here with my wife and we waited over ten minutes without anyone offering us drinks or taking our order. Then I noticed that the hostess who seated us was taking drink orders from other people she seated. My wife and I became very thirsty and we found the whole ordeal very personally insulting. We started eating at the Fortune Garden soon after it opened. We don't live in the area but travel there often. I ordered the Mongolian beef lunch the first time we went there and I liked it so much that I have never ordered anything else. My wife likes lo mein or fried rice and egg rolls. We always need a take out box for the leftovers. My wife purposely orders a full order of fried rice so we will have plenty to take home. Do the Mothers Day Parities have to pay this also? Pretty sad to eat at. We came and got our waters immediately but when it came to getting our orders, i felt like we sat there for 30 minutes. We go out to eat there about once every 3-months or so and order the same thing: I get the orange chicken and white rice and my wife gets salt & pepper chicken and fried rice. Our food is always great but the service can use some serious help as it sometimes takes quite a while to put in our order and to get someones attention when we are trying to pay before we leave. If you like sweet tea, well prepare yourself for sugar water. I've never had a bad experience until now. The other day me my wife and boys went to have a meal. The hostess has a face on her that it's obvious she doesn't want to be there making customers feel unfortable. She sat us down and we waited for more than 20 minutes. You have a ponytail guy and a skinny guy who has a Dodge Charger that picks who they want to attend. However, with that being said, our waitress was not only rude, but outright disrespectful. 04/30/16. 7pm. Just ordered food for 5 to go. The lady who took our order over the phone said it would take about 20 minutes. Ok we got to the restaurant in 25 minutes and paid $95. We where told the food wasn't ready so we waited about 10 minutes. Got home and the food looked ok. Took a bite and the food was cool. Not cold but definitely wasn't even warm. So I called the restaurant and made a complaint. I was immediately given to the manager who I told him what happened and all he had to say was the order was sitting there for 40 minutes. I think this was the worst Chinese food and service we have received in a very long time. My husband and I ate there today and it was very disappointing. The prices are good so I suspect that is why folks go there, but we won't be returning. I had coffee and requested milk or cream with it. Waitress came and handed me a big family size coffee mate container and I said, no thanks, do you have a little milk? She said no, sorry , no milk. I said if I had my children with me and they drank milk, they could not get a glass of milk ? She said, no sorry and walked away. Egg rolls came they were yucky. I suspect frozen packaged ones. I travel all over the US and always like trying new places. Fortune Garden is a great place to hit. Their lunch specials are reasonably priced and the portions are enough for two meals. I have had the beef and broccoli and the salt and pepper chicken and both are delish. Their egg flower soup is nice and tasty and it doesn't have the artificial yellow coloring in it.
