    17. Sweet and Sour Chicken

Half order portions were still huge enough for 3 adults and we still had leftovers. Food came out very quick and was delicious!!!

Lunch Menu - A) BBQ Pork, Egg Roll & Pork Fried Rice
    Shirley A.

It was our first time here. A colleague and I came here to eat after work - late lunch, early dinner kind of thing. We ordered our food from the "lunch menu". The food came between 5-10 mins considering it was starting to get busy. They give pretty big portions that we packed our leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. It's a decent size restaurant to eat in. The service was good and the food was "ok". You can come try it out for yourselves and see what you think of it. Thank you for taking the time to read this!

    4. BBQ Pork

It makes sense for a large family group to spend time . But if you're looking for quality of Food I do not recommend. We order BBQprk and it was almost impossible to bite through. Zero taste of bbq, dry and cold. (You can tell it's been reheated multiple times). The kung pao chicken is not at all as it should taste. Tasted like vinegar mixed with extra spicy sweet and sour, majority of plate was celery and carrots. And peanuts tossed on top .Fried rice was missing so much seasoning and garlic as well as the chow mein. Zero flavor just oil . We left with my lips tingling itchy which never happens.

Wonderful Duck. No habia comido Pato en muuuuchos Años

Once a year I come to El Centro for work. It is so great to stop by and eat the Duck Tha I LOOOOOVE IT!!!!! Thanks a lot fortune Garden. Delicious... excellent service

    Kung Pao Celery???

Kung Pao CELERY???? Wow!! I have had kung pao shrimp..in many many different places... but it has ALWAYS had green and/or red peppers ... this one had. NONE! But in place it had celery ! And LOTS of it! Maybe there was 5 carrot pieces also and some onion... HUGE HUGE portions .. They definitely need to downsize the quantity and increase the quality. I Ordered also ...1/2 order of chicken fried rice that went to waste as it was entirely too much and I was traveling thru so it had to be tossed I believe it was a full order.. it HAD to be!! I really am not one who usually complains about large portions, but this was over the top and decreased the quality of the food with all that celery !! I won't come again as the flavor was weak AF .. Kung Pao is supposed to be spicy!! Like HOT and this had very little spicy -ness to it! 1/2 order of chicken fried rice (that was a 5 at best) One order of Kung Pao shrimp ( almost all celery) One order of wontons (soggy because they did not vent the Styrofoam container, and the steam made them go soggy ) was $46. Fortune Garden was Fortune Garbage!

    I didn't order sweet tea.

Really bad service, as soon I entered they sent me to the wrong section no Wonder they didn't serve me for a long period of time .

    Disrespectful waiter
    Irene C.

We've been here one time before and returned because the food was good. Unfortunately this time the service was horrible and the waiter (Pedro) was one of the rudest waiters I've ever encountered. When called out on our wait he proceeded to argue with the entire table and put the blame on us. He continued to argue until I stated that it was enough. He was so disrespectful to my elderly family members. I won't support a restaurant that allows their employees to treat customers like crap.

    64. Pan Fried Chicken (Hot & Spicy) - 1/2 Order

Absolutely love the pan fried chicken here! And the bbq pork! The special wonton soup is also a fave! One of my favorite places to go for Chinese food! There's a reason they are always busy!

    (M) Mongolian Beef (Hot & Spicy),Egg Roll and Pork Fried Rice. I subbed for the chicken chowmein, as I'm not a found of noodles.
    M M.

Have always enjoyed coming here because their meals are excellent and plentiful. Have never been able to finish a lunch plate because you get so much food! Some may complain that their broccoli was overdone but you just have to learn how to order. If you like your broccoli crunchy then ask for that. I have had one lousy waiter but i looked around & saw whose waiting on their tables. That's when I found the best waitress. The type that watches her tables & is not overly attentive but is their when you need something. Ask for Maribel even though you may not be seated in her station she will still attend you. There's nothing worse that getting a lousy waiter but you won't find that in her.

I did not like the food last time I went. Food was dry and bland. It was also expensive for the quality food you were getting.

If I lived close, I would need to try all of them... except California because I've had a bunch of those. The only negative I would say is that me and my colleagues plates came out and they were presented really well, unique looking and on fancy plates. But he got an order of gyoza and it was served on a plastic basket. So everything else was all fancy, but the gyoza came out and it wasn't as nice of a presentation. Atmosphere: Its spacious inside, not too crowded and lots of Japanese decorations everywhere. I would have liked if they had cleaned the menus though because they were a little greasy feeling. Price: Not a bad price, middle of the road I would say. Edamame less than 4$ so that was cool. The coke they served was a long, 16.9oz glass bottle, I didn't even know they made those anymore! Service: Our server was nice, no complaints. Although it took a little while to get her attention, but after that it was all good. Overall: Like I said, I would totally come back here to try more rolls. Very cool little place in El Centro. If I come back through to go to Mexicali, I will stop here again.

Gourmet and Express really shouldn't be used together and this was fast but not gourmet. They give you a sample of orange chicken as you are looking at your choices. The sugary coated chicken hooks unsuspecting folks It seemed like a Panda Express steam type prepared food but it had a bit more interesting. They had lots of spicy food with jalapeños as well as the normal red peppers. Hubs selected the orange chicken, fried rice and bbq pork. I had Beef & Broccoli, half rice & chow mein noodles and Kung Paso chicken with more zucchini than chicken. The chicken was tender without a tenderized without a tenderized feel. The broccoli and zucchini were great with a bit of a crunch. Kung Pao chicken wasn't really spicy-even though I found a couple of red peppers. My husband liked the orange chicken-though a bit sweet and BBQ pork was ok. We both only ate half our food. It will be nice to have another meal. My motive was not so pure, as I saw something else to top off the meal. The ambiance is mall food court but service was good.
