Great place to eat for a place occasion. Is a very proud restaurant with delicious dishes. walking steps from the pantheon. We went for a Christmas Eve dinner and enjoyed every dish they served us. The pictures do not do its justice. Their pasta dishes were spot on. Our family went a little crazy and maybe over ordered but when in Rome...lol

Carbonara

I came here to celebrate my birthday and had made reservations 5 months in advance. We arrived that evening and they acted like they didn't have my reservation nor had they reserved a table outside. They seated us in the corner outside which didn't have a view of anything. The service was disciplined but there are no smiles or discussion. It was what do you want? Not even a special dessert waiting. I was truly disappointed with this place and I really can't recommend it to anyone celebrating a special occasion. Take your time and look for something that will help with your special moment. Food was ok. Risotto was bland with no taste. Service cold. Pretentious waiter.

Amazing location. Servers were super friendly. Food was pretty good! We went the place in the white truffle season! So we could have one. Taste was good but not superb. Vealchop was worth to try. It seemed uncooked, but texture and taste was amazing. It's in the small alley, so we could enjoy watching people stroll around the place.

My neighborhood spot, and I live in Las Vegas. I just happen to go to Rome, a lot! Always kind, the owner Jasen is usually around to share a great conversation with, recommend a dish or great bottle of wine. And you got to love that view of the Pantheon. He knows I'm a big sampler and rarely finish, so he made me a dream come true sample plate. My favorites were Traditional rigatoni carbonara -Spaghetti classici alla gricia Spaghetti with pecorino cheese, pork cheek, and black pepper Roman Classics Strozzapreti "Amatricina" with pork cheek, pecorino and black pepper

Bianco Riserva

We had wonderful service at this restaurant. The sommelier or manager came up and asked us what we would like. He suggested a great Bianco Riserva and the salt crust baked whole seabass. We had various people helping with service at our table and everyone is friendly and helpful. Highlight of our meal The salt crust baked seabass was delicate and delicious. The grilled lobster was slightly over cooked so it was a bit rubbery. The amatriciana was delicious. Pasta cooked al dente, tomato tasted like tomato sauce and not overly tart/sour. The seafood platter is okay but all raw, fyi. We ordered a Franciacorta, my favorite type of Italian sparkling wine. Overall, good experience for us. I would say foo averages to 3.5 and I bumped them up to a 4 because they treated us very well. Locals ate here while we dined and we noticed they ordered very specific dishes. The menu is extensive but I think like any other place, know what is good regionally. Especially in Italy since each region is so distinctive.

Overall: Had a wonderful evening at the **Fortunato Wine Bar & Wine shop** after seeing the wine in the window! Wine & Food: 5 stars. The selection of wine is amazing. The quality is high and preserved wonderfully in refrigerated compressed cases. Service: 5 stars. Alessandro the sommelier is amazing. He was incredibly helpful making the best recommendations and incredibly knowledgeable. We also got to meet the owner Jason who told us the history of the restaurant and food they purchase. Friendly and always smiling, they both made our visit unforgettable.

I was a bit nervous about eating here as it is so close to the Pantheon. Generally, I don't like to eat at restaurants right next to tourist attractions but I decided to give it ago. The service and food were pretty good. We tried some veggies, the minestrone, veal meatballs, and a couple pastas. We were too stuffed to order dessert but they brought out complimentary limoncella and biscotti which we consumed even though we were stuffed. The biscotti was really really good and the limoncella was strong!

The location is amazing. So close to the Pantheon but not so close as to be caught in the crowds... The service was impeccable. We had a reservation which is a must if you wish to enjoy this restaurant on a Friday night. Outside seating is great and they did chase away the flower sellers and loud musicians! The food was really good. We had a delicious antipasto of cheese and meats... Plenty to share. For the main course, you cannot go wrong with their pasta. Also the grilled scampi was incredible. Only regret was that we did not get the artichokes!. Next time... Because when we come back to Rome, we are getting dinner here again!

A waiter was very nice, loved fresh mozzarella, and pasta. Everything was just perfect. Belissimo

Steak Strips - Fortunato al Pantheon

What an absolutely wonderful lunch! Close to the Pantheon but we could not view it while dining. That would have been perfect. As it was, we had to settle for some excellent food to build our walking strength. I opted for steak strips with small tomatoes and roasted potatoes. The meat was quite tasty and when coupled with the 'taters made me a very happy camper. This establishment is more formal than others we visited, not that you have to dress formally to eat there, but provided an outstanding meal when we needed it. And, based on the looks on the faces of other patrons, everyone was pleasingly fed in a bright, clean and well-visited establishment. I rate it a 4.5 and round it up to a 5 star.

American priests

Nice, but touristy restaurant near the Pantheon. Seating inside and out, we dined in the back room surrounded by American bishops, priests and seminary students in Rome preparing to be ordained the following week. Literally surrounded on all sides. When the plates came to the table, all heads bowed and there was a flurry of signs of the crosses. Needless to say we were on our best behavior. All by way of saying, these priests live well, with multiple courses, wine flowing freely, and except for the frock on the seminary students (of note, the senior priests were in street clothes--blue blazers with large crests on the pocket, nice watches on the wrists) might be any other well heeled fraternal order clapping each other on the back and talking about football. While we dined well in Rome, this location charged a premium of about 40-50% on the food and 100% on the wine. We had pasta cacio e pepe, veal with mushrooms and a bottle of local red wine. All quite good although with a longer than expected delay between courses, likely due to location and parties of 6-8 priests who all came in at once. Strolling through the piazza after dinner, a street musician sang 'Imagine' while children ran about blowing bubbles.

Amazing experience. The best carbonara I've ever eaten and the service was over the top. An absolute must when in Rome.

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

I had possibly the most amazing chick food pasta a girl could imagine. Girls know what girl food is. The pasta in Italy is just better -obviously. But then put all sorts of girl flavors on it like Lemon and Orange, just lightly enough, zest with a small hint of cheese-..... omgosh. Yes, yes, and yes. Need my hubs to replicate at home. He is going to be busy trying to perfect this. Tagliatelle with orange and lemon parmesan. This was it. It was the best. Everything else we ordered was amazing as well. Wait outside. They don't have a sign telling you to wait, no server telling you to wait. You wait out there, wondering if you're in the right place, but then people stand behind you and you're like - oh! I'm here. This is the place. There are possibly 4 tables inside. It's small. I read about them being rude- we did not have that problem. In fact, they made a mistake and we kindly let them know we ordered something else- they corrected it and were nice about it.

So happy we did as this place definitely delivers. There is seriously like 8 tables in the dining room so expect a wait in line but trust me, it's worth it. We waited outside for about 25 minutes. They do take your order while in line so the wait for food (once you do get a table) is abbreviated. Out of the world pastas and the pistachio tiramisu is seriously out of this world. Inexpensive table wine rounds out a great meal. This is the type of place I love to go to. It's quaint, zero pretense and delivers on its food. A great find!

Our kind waiter bright over water, bread and breadsticks. No olive oil, no butter just dry. For our lunch I decided on the cacio e Pepe and Lisa opted for the ragú. Both were delicious.
