Shop quote 1700 but raised to 2300. Quoted three days to complete replacement of rear bumper but took 9 days. I had to take it back because part in trunk was missing but they told me to buy it from eBay. Parts replacement was not installed correctly and not seated. I don't recommend this shop. Fortes did a great job on some body work for my Prius. It looks as good as new now. Their customer service is outstanding. They finished the work two days earlier than estimated. Debbie in the front office is very sweet and answered all my many questions about the process. Brando did a thorough inspection of my car and wrote a detailed estimate. He also gives you a detailed bill at the end. They both are very customer oriented and are very easy to talk to. They worked well with my insurance company. They have a very organized setup with Enterprise for car rentals. Enterprise picks you up at Fortes when you leave your car and brings you to their lot to complete the rental process. You return your car to Fortes when you go to get your own car, and they do the rest about returning the rental to Enterprise. If I ever need body work done on any car again, I'll definitely use Fortes Auto Body. read more

I visited this shop on two separate occasions for an estimate on a collision repair on my car. On both occasions the individuals who gave me the estimate were professional and prepared the paperwork for a quote in a timely manner. I chose to get my car repaired at this shop and called to make an appointment to drop off my car for repair. The individual on the phone let me know the time frame of the repair and the completion date. I received a courtesy text message reminding me of the drop off appointment. I dropped off my car on Monday morning and the completion date of the car was Friday afternoon. I requested to know if I could use the Yelp Check-In offer for 1 free detail and they said yes. I continued to receive text messages on the progress of the repair on my car which I really appreciated. On Thursday afternoon I received a call that my car would be ready at the time the shop opened (8AM) on Friday and was thrilled to have my car in my possession before schedule. I showed up a little after 8 and picked up my car. I was so happy to see my car and took a look at the repair to my bumper. I was very happy with the repair. It looked like it had before the collision occurred. I was thrilled with the thorough detail they did on my car (Yelp Check-In offer). My car was in immaculate condition! The car mats were cleaned with great care. My tires and rims were shiny and clean. My experiences with several of the staff at FORTES were professional, timely, and responsive. The level of communication about my vehicle and the estimate was clear. The level of detail to the repair and the detailing of my car show that this shop cares about the work they provide their clients. If the need arises for a collision repair FORTES will be in my thoughts. read more

If I could give a negative star, I would. I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone so beware. I went to this shop about two years ago because it was a recommended shop by my insurance. The shop did an excellent job and I was extremely happy with the service they provided. I was rear-ended in April 2023 and had to fix my brand-new BMW 2023. The repairs were not very expensive, but I wanted the car to be perfect, so I decided not to use my insurance but rather a third party. According to the shop, I will not be able to pick up my car until the full payment has been received in full. Basically, I would either have to pay for the repair out of my pocket or wait for the insurance company to pay. Talk about operational issues, but anyhow, I went with them since they had done a great job before. The repairs were completed in 3 days but it was the 4th of July weekend so I decided to wait until the check came in since I had a rental anyway. Well, I called the shop two weeks later to see if they had received the check. "We are still waiting on payment," the man said. I told him I wouldn't be using your services ever again, and to my surprise, his reply was, "Good we don't want you back.". I'm like, this is how he talks to his customers and I don't know who this man is, so I just hang up the call, not wanting him to ruin my day. That same day, Brando calls me to inform me that the check had been received. I ended up picking up my car on Wednesday since it was later in the day and I had to go to work on Tuesday. The attitude I had going in was great. I didn't want to bring anything up, I just wanted my car. When they pulled up with my car, I noticed a chip on the passenger door that looked like someone had opened the door and ripped off three chips of paint. As well as the bumper, I noticed marks, so I said ok, those may be from rocks. So I was okay with the bumper. After taking pictures, the guy goes back and talks to his manager. His manager then comes out and he already had a shitty attitude as I recognized his voice from the phone call. I said you are the guy I spoke to on Monday and he answered yes, and he began to argue with me about the rock chips. On the bumper, I agree, but what about the door? He shrugged his shoulders, saying he didn't know and wouldn't take the blame. As I said, my car didn't have that, so why don't you compare the photos you took when I dropped off the car with these new pictures? His response was that he couldn't tell the difference because the pictures were not good quality. It got to the point where we had a disagreement because I know my car wasn't like that when I dropped it off and he thinks they can just take advantage of people. I told him I would never go back again and he kept saying we don't want you to go back and started saying he was a How does that relate to what we were talking about? I'll have to pay my deductible for fixing this shop's mistake, and I want everyone to know he doesn't care about his customers and has a poor operation with third-party insurance, with no direct billing. When he released my vehicle, he had an approved supplemental from the third-party insurance, so why did he need payment beforehand? This guy is very unprofessional and has poor customer service. I hope people realize this because his shop does a good job, but he needs to learn how to treat his customers and accept responsibility. In the end, I found out that the man I was speaking with was Kevin Ogrady, the owner of Fortes Auto Body. I heard him yelling while I was waiting to get my car, so it seems like he wants to do business this way. So, beware! read more

This body shop was the preferred body shop of my insurance company, Mercury insurance. I was hesitant at first when I went in and they wrote the estimate because they said that my bumper needed to be repaired, I disagreed I wanted it replaced because it was it right in the corner and it had a body line straight through the middle. They assured me that they could do the job well, And it would look as if it never happened. I agreed to have the work done there, it was a 3-day job, it was done when it was supposed to be, and it looked very beautiful. I was very satisfied. Shout out to the team at Fortes auto body for being my heroes. During the pandemic with the stay at home order there was a lot of Cadillac converter's getting stolen from Prius's. Lucky me I had it stolen twice. The first time around they were quick, reliable, communicative. It took about one week just because there was a delay in parts, totally not their fault the entire bay area was on a shortage but they were very communicative about the process. This time around it took them about a day and a half, communicative, understanding, their attitude and customer service was exceptional. Having this unfortunate events happened twice I obviously was stressed upset but what made it 100 times better what is the service that I got at Fortes autobody. read more

I personally picked this shop from a list of AAA referred body shop in Sunnyvale. The people here are kind and genuine. I'm very happy with the results. I'm posting a before and after photos below. What I did not say earlier was the fact that the works had to be done twice. Recently, the same vehicle got hit by rock debris and I sent it to Fortes for dents and chips repair on the driver side. The first finished work got defective paint job with at least three streaks clearly showing on my door when the lights hit it. The manager agreed to take my car back for more repairs. This clearly shows poor workmanship on Fortes. On the second pick up, the manager assured me that he had inspected my car multiple times and he saw no imperfections anywhere. When I arrived for pickup, I saw sagging paint and at least two new dents on my door that were not there before. I pointed them out to the front desk lady who brought my car out. Then the manager came and he made the claim that Maybe my car which I bought it brand new from a Mercedes Dealership, had been painted over before and that affected his ability to paint the car to perfection. I felt the manager is now blaming me for his own bad paint job and refused to accept responsibility of his own works. The manager also appeared to be unhappy for the fact that I pointed out his crew poor workmanship and the lack of ability to produce quality works and the inability to accept their own works. The manager further stated he only charged AAA a certain amount of fees and therefore, he's not responsible for the dents and the sagging paint. The stressful part for me is seeing the manager unwilling to get the job done correctly even though AAA is paying for all the costs. The fact of the matter is my car should have been fixed the first time but, Fortes failed. I gave Fortes a second chance to get it right and it failed again. Now Fortes is getting a third chance to get my car fixed right. AAA is paying for all the costs and there shouldn't be any excuses. I would not recommend Fortes Auto Body to anyone. AAA should stop referring clients to this establishment. read more

I had pathetic experience with Fortes auto Sunnyvale, Mercury gave me bunch of choices, but I picked Fortes based upon their online reviews, booked an appointment with them for estimate, when I reached there, their technician was already out of office and the guy at reception took bunch of pictures and that's it and he said estimator will contact me tomorrow, there was "0" information provided to me. No body contacted me for next 3 days and then I had to contact them back, when I went there to drop off my vehicle, I was trying to ask some information which no body provided to me so far, their General manager was extremely rude, impatient, and short tempered, and the later the guy at reception misbehaved as well Extremely dissatisfied with their customer services and their customer handling, seems like a bunch of rude people over there (though the lady at the reception was very nice) after Fortes I picked up another body shop in Santa Clara, the experience there was much much different, as soon as I visited other Body shop, their Estimator immediately went with me for the car inspection, explained all the factors, procedures step by step and 30 minutes later he provided me a written copy of the estimate and explained everything in the estimates, while on other side, guy from Fortes never bothered to give any information, my experience with Fortes was so weird, I am happy that I did not get my vehicle repaired over there oh really, what kind of insurance fraud I asked you to do? is is fraud to ask following? - what is service guarantee - OEM parts vs out of market parts - warranty for the parts - intensity of the damages - estimate Visited your office twice, once for estimate, and last for drop off, both times I went with the appointment to sure to get to talk to right people, both times estimator was missing, no information "Absolutely "0" information was given both times, nobody tried to explain any information on damages, estimates, the service procedures etc Before dropping off, Mercury agent mentioned to me if the Out of market parts would be available at the time of drop off they will use Out of market parts otherwise OEM parts, I wanted to talk same info with your GM and clarify, but your GM was so impatient and short tempered he did not even allowed me to speak for 30 secs and cut me multiple times in middle very rudely, I was just exploring the options I could have, did I ever asked any of your staff to do any insurance frauds? Did I ever asked your staff to say to insurance company that you don't have out of market parts so that I get the OEM parts? Now that I am complaining about rudeness of your staff, you are making a story of insurance fraud, wow! I picked your shop even your shop is much far from my home hoping to get better customer experience/service, satisfactory repairs/answers, but none of your staff did their job, the behavior from GM was extremely bad, if the guy who is running the store is showing this attitude I can understand how others would behave and that's exactly was the behavior later shown by the reception guy who didn't even know what conversation I had with GM before he came and jumped into the conversation and started misbehaving Ask your front lady who was much nicer, and ask her how rude and irresponsible your staff was, ask her what kind of insurance fraud I asked your guys to do Million dollar question, if somebody really wants to do insurance fraud why would somebody pick up a body shop which is in insurance provider's network? My wife's brand new car was hit. The insurance recommended Fortes Auto body and I'm so glad we took her car to this shop. Kevin was very accommodating, helpful and attentive. They took our car in and next thing you know he had the rental car company pick us up. Getting parts for our vehicle was a bit difficult (due to pandemic) and slow but this was out of the body shop's control. When we finally picked up the car it looked amazing. I am kinda ashamed I didn't find these guys sooner, as we get EXCELLENT service from them through AAA (tow/battery/etc). Saw that from James L. Yelp post and it just shouted: USE US! I was working with a Farmers agent and she gave me a list of local shops. They were the last on the list. I went to another shop and could not believe the 'service'. The shop was closed (when they said they'd be open), and the mgr comes back with a plate of food he purchased from who-knows-where and had locked the place down. Wasn't getting my car fixed there. I got to FAB and Drew came out to give me a quote. I told him I wanted to keep my OEM bumper, since only the paint had been taken off (no holes, ruptures, bends, etc). didn't want some off-brand aftermarket from China or who-knows-where. They did a PERFECT job with the 3 state pearl Nissan Paint. And a new OEM headlight. The hood was straightened out AND the car was 100% detailed when I got there, including tire dressing. Bumper looked like nothing ever hit it. Fortes does great work and sends automatic emails to tell you at what state your car is at (1/2 way, etc). And a pick up date ahead of time. My only 'complaint' is they didn't 'unfog' my left headlight to match the new right one with a clean lens. But really, that was not part of the damage. read more

They have top notch customer service and they did a wonderful job bringing my car back to better than before. I was particularly happy about when it was ready for pick up. I was able to leave my Hertz rental there and they took care of calling them to pick it up. They even vacuumed and cleaned my car! Talk about stellar service! Fortes make mistakes and denied to apologized even seen the evidence. Drew Dobbie directly called me an idiot and said it is his freedom to say any words to his customer in his own business. Fortes finished fixing my car before AAA appraiser's check. And AAA appraiser told me that it is all my fault because Fortes Auto's owner Drew said I went into his dealership saying I would pay the fee out of my own pocket, that is why they did not follow the normal insurance process. I went to Fortes Auto to check my log, it clear shows insurance with AAA (see attachment). Before that, I also consulted the staff after the initial quote, and their staff(Johnny) gave me kindly advice "call AAA that I have chosen my dealership". Besides,I have been there just one month before, they should have all my insurance info. The first experience is ok. Fortes Auto followed the procedure, waited until all the check finished by the AAA appraiser. Just the engine is noisier than before. Never find the peaceful driving experience again. It is understandable that excellent business makes mistake. While pushing all the responsibility to customers before the third party, and abusing them with impolite words is totally a different thing. read more

@Debbie the owner, the pipe connected to the clamp is "obviously" compromised by the accident according to Audi technician. It should be fixed the first time, which is neglected by your technician. For an accident like this, body shop is supposed to fix everything, even is a tiny scratch or dent. When we have to bring our car to your shop the second time, we asked your stuff to fix them all this time, I think that is reasonable to ask, our request was firmly rejected, because the shop can't charge the extra cost to insurance company since they have paid (~10k), and you choose to sacrifice customer interest. Quote words from your GM, "we only do what we think necessary", "the dealer service is just greedy", "your request is ridiculous", "I am the top of line here, it is the end of discussion, we won't do more". The fact is Audi service gave us free roadside assistance to tow our car, gave us free diagnostics without suggesting we do the repair there. It is a big difference compared with the treatment we got from your shop. Fortes got good reviews in the past, I went there because of friend's recommendation. I know it happens sometime even good technician can still make mistakes. I can accept that it just happened this time and upon me. But when it happened, a good profession/business tries his best to correct that mistake, not just he think "necessary" which is often minimum. In my case, customer satisfaction is not a real concern to the shop. @future customers, if you walk into the shop, you may most likely be among those 90% happy customers, but if due to bad luck, you are within those 10% unfortunate ones, be aware what you might face. read more

I can't comment on the quality of mechanical or auto body work at Fortes because I didn't get my services done there. Correction: Fortes made it clear they didn't want my patronage, and therefore, my cash (and that of my insurance company) goes elsewhere. The employee in question was clearly having a bad morning. I get that. It's 8:30 AM on Monday, you're alone, and there's a line three people deep for damage repair estimates. I understand bad mornings, seeing as I was there with my damaged car instead of starting my own busy workday. And it's possible that he didn't see me, number two in line, after number one was finished, and that he handled number three next unintentionally. It's also possible that he didn't hear me calling after him and number three to point out the error. I find it somewhat less likely that, after returning to the office to complete Three's paperwork, he still didn't see me standing, waiting, watching him, in direct line of sight, before he went outside again to help a newly arrived customer (let's call him number four). Did I not mention yet that numbers one, three, and four were all male? I suppose I should actually offer thanks. You clearly don't consider my time as valuable compared to that of other customers, and I might assume the same to be true of my money. So thank you for sparing me from wasting either of them further with you. PS: I should note that while I was debating whether to leave after the second incident or stay to see how many times I could be passed over, a second man arrived and helped me out immediately. Please note that I did not have any work done on my car at this shop (my car was considered a total loss), but I am rating their towing service and overall customer service. I was in an accident and used my AAA membership to get a towing service. Fortes showed up in less than 5 minutes and the driver was friendly and helpful. I had no idea where to take my car, so the driver said he'd take it to their body shop, but did not pressure me at all to leave it there for body work. He even volunteered to drive me back home after he dropped off my car. Everyone in the office were incredibly nice and welcoming. They gave me a rental car recommendation which turned out to be great (Enterprise in Mountain View). Had my car not been totaled , I would have had Fortes fix it without hesitation. I have had work done in LA on another car for a Super Bowl commercial, it was a Corvette ZR1 as great as a job that was Fortes is better. They are fast too! My father sent me to Fortes because my bumper was falling off my Audi. He told me to ask for Drew, who had fixed my parent's cars on several occasions. To start with, Drew gave me a discount on labor because there wasn't an insurance claim. And then he tried to talk me out of getting the hood of my car repainted (due to another auto body company's bad paint job), because he said I wouldn't be able to recoup the money, but I stubbornly insisted! When I paid for the work completed at pick-up, the bill was MUCH LESS then the original estimate! (Note: Drew had already given me a deal on the hood repaint because he probably felt for my poor husband...) IN ALL MY YEARS, I HAVE NEVER PAID LESS THAN THE ESTIMATE. Fortes recognizes the importance of conducting business with honesty, integrity, and knows how to win a customer. Drew delivered my car cleaner than I left it. I will use Fortes again in the future... However, hopefully I won't have to!! read more

After being hit by a vicious Mini, I brought my road-weary 2002 Elantra to Fortes in need of two new doors. I chose Fortes almost solely on the basis of it being close to my house and an approved Farmers Insurance repair facility. Drew took care of me throughout the entire process, and I could've have asked for a better steward. He ran me through the insurance information (basically: They pay for everything) and set up my rental car. When the repair was delayed due to difficulty in getting replacement parts, he called to let me know and took care of extending the rental. When I picked the car up a week later, it quite literally looked better than new. They even buffed a few scratches out of my bumper! Overall, an excellent experience. Will revise if the door unexpectedly falls off, however. read more

This place is wonderful. It's so difficult to find a good auto repair place, and since I've been using them, I feel I need to spread the word. Picture this: you're at a local farmer's market, it's a beautiful day, you're loaded with your fresh produce as you walk back to your car, and upon turning the key in the ignition - your car won't start. A half hour later, you realize you have to call a tow truck. Thank goodness the truck that showed up was from Fortes. I had a good mechanic before I found this shop but I am switching, and here's why. Communication to me is key - my former repair shop before was good, but I had a hard time communicating with some of the mechanics on the phone. This doesn't happen at Fortes - you don't have to hope that someone "good" will answer the phone. You call an extension at the shop to talk to a service representative who does nothing but expedite and make repairs go smoothly for the customers. Rental cars: that's a big nut for me because I work full-time and when my car's in the shop, I need to get to work. There is a Hertz office close to Fortes - they provide transportation to and from Fortes for renting a car. Customer service: John, the service rep, has been stellar in assisting me in many ways. He's an excellent communicator, he treats me with respect, and explains fully if I have questions. He always goes the extra mile. If you need a caring, honest, service-oriented auto repair shop in the Mountain View area, I can't say enough about Fortes. read more
