My car broke down on the hwy at night, on my way to Mesa. The Tow Truck driver highly recommended this motel. I was met by the manager, Beverly, who made me feel welcome, comfortable, and safe, even though it was after hours. The suite was spotlessly clean, with everything you could want or need. The bed was comfortable and the pillows, bedding & towels were excellent quality, adding to the comfort level. Admittedly, the place looks a bit divey, but I would recommend this place for anyone looking to save money while vacationing out in the Sedona area (It is a 40 minute drive from Sedona but the hotel prices cost double in that city). It cost us $150 for a room with 2 queen beds. Something unique about this place is that our room specifically came with a kitchen: it had a functional sink, a 5 person table, a large refrigerator, and a portable stove top. This looks good enough to function as an extended stay. The aesthetics of the place was pretty bare bones. The only odd thing I experienced was the owner telling me I had to wait outside because only one customer is allowed in the office at a time. They also provide 10% discounts for 4 of the restaurants in town but the one we went to (La Casita) didn't honor it. read more

Absolutely a charming place to stay. The suite we got was large and full of charm. The room was decorated with themes from the area. We got a large kitchen with a full size refrigerator, a kitchenette area equipped with all kinds of plates, bowls, silverware, etc. There is also a nice sitting area just outside your room. OMG, don't! Don't do it! Save yourself now lol. This place is the epitomy of scheisty. The room? Totally fine! Zero complaints (except hotel carpet, but that's hotel carpet for you). I was comfortable enough. I stayed for five days. I'm traveling for medical reasons, cancer, and needed to stay somewhere en route for rest. But it felt like I was getting the side eye the whole time and it wasn't restful. It's a vibe thing, you can feel when someone is glad for your money but resents you for being there. It wasn't a good feeling. I had an ottoman in my camper that I needed to throw away (long story). It wasn't big, about 1.5'x1'x2' max and about ten pounds. To be respectful I asked if it was ok to throw away in their large bin. Without skipping a beat the husband all but shouted "50 dollars!". I liked his wife over the phone and when I checked in, but I'm not always the best judge of character, and she was sucking air through her teeth standing right their next to her husband, "that's going to cost us to throw away, we have to PAY for that" (we both know you don't, it blended in with the other trash and you were charged the same, you're making it sound like it's a fridge or a heavy item that needs special pick up...but sure, get your cash) Asked housekeeping for a blanket because I was cold at night, she looked at me like I had demanded that she fetch me a flute of champagne, "we do NOT have extra blankets". In the whole five days I was there I asked for my trash to be dumped and for one vacuum, but I felt like I was made to feel demanding for even asking for a couple of basics Then sure enough, when I called to check my charges based on other yelp reviews, I had a $50 charge two days after checking out. When I called the wife went off on me for trashing the room, saying that it took two hours to clean it after I left. That my service dog had left urine and fecal stains all over the sheets (as if!). That I'd trashed the bathroom with a white powder (I use baking soda to brush my teeth, I'm sure the 1/8 tsp that may have spilled on the floor didn't take two hours to clean...aside from the fact baking soda is actually used for cleaning). And the wife was still listing absurd things over the phone, "I have photos!!!" completely untrue things, when she just abruptly cut her own self off, "go ahead, dispute the charges!" and hung up. Its not worth the time,effort or risk coming here. The whole experience during and after having to clear up charges defeats the purpose. (and the one convo I had with the husband was with him demanding, literally barking at me, I tell him how much I spend a month using my camper - none of your business buddy, it's a classless question that's none of your business) read more

This boutique motel was FANTASTIC! Tastefully decorated in a southwestern theme, right in historic Camp Verde. It was quiet and quaint. Comfy King size bed with soft and firm pillows, Direct Tv, a/c. The room also had a separate dining room with a kitchen and full sized refrigerator! Stay here, instead of at one of the chain hotels off I-17! Only about 5 minutes  from I-17. Not only is it newly renovated/ beautifully maintained, but less expensive, less crowded and quieter. You wont regret it! read more

I would give this zero stars if it was possible. I made a reservation through booking.com and was not able to stay the first night because my mother was in the hospital. We showed up the next day for our pre paid reservation. We had a permit at fossil Creek for the following day when we showed up, they did not have our room available, even though it was prepaid. From the looks of it, the manager on staff was highly addicted to methamphetamines. She barely had teeth and it looks like she sold our prepaid room for cash. The sheriff was called and she pretended to refund our room. She provided a receipt to the sheriff and we left about an hour later, she recharged our card, after going back-and-forth with the credit card company strangely enough the agent who is helping me said that this was not their first dealings with the fort Verde suites and this particular couple who does super shady things. Unfortunately, the sheriff that helped us said it was his third time out at Fort Verde suites that week. sad that such a gorgeous place has a terrible drug problem. avoid this place like the plague we were not able to go to fossil Creek and use our permit and unfortunately our drive back to Phoenix on I 17 was about six hours because of the freeway being partially closed. shame on you, Fort Verde Suites!! Maybe conduct some drug screening when you hire employees. Thankfully, I was able to get my refund. I'm finally taking the time to write this review so this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

One of the worst motel experiences I've ever had. Truly classless management. There lazy and extremely unprofessional. I used to rave about this spot. Not sure what happened, maybe the fact that under new management they've become extremely low rent one stop section 8 facility. Screaming children running past your bedroom in the early hours of the morning. Staff is lazy almost non existant, until they tack on extras for barely soiled face towels a day after you e checked out. Manager grabs your keys threw the door in his undies barely awake at 10 am. Forget the supposed continent breakfast they advertise Your welcomed to a do not disturb sign at the office until 9am. This place is a sick joke. Buyer beware. Steer clear of this dump. read more

This last weekend my siblings and I, with our families, made the pilgrimage to Camp Verde for our father's funeral. Twelve of us stayed in 4 rooms at the Fort Verde Suites. Beverly greeted us with kind words and condolences. The rooms had everything we needed and then some. Not only were they spacious enough for us to visit with each other in our respective rooms but there was also ample square footage for cribs, etc for those of us that brought little ones. (Honestly I think my king suite was bigger than my apartment in California). We had tables and fridges for food, and being centrally located on Main St., plenty of things to walk to as well. It's cold this time of year! But my room was toasty. I enjoyed bundling up and sitting in the rocking chair outside with my coffee and a direct view of sunrise. The bed was comfortable and the water was hot- I even had a bath one night. There were also wine glasses for the vino I brought. What a great spot for an affordable price, I will definitely stay here again. Thanks to Beverly and the friendly cleaning crew for a terrific stay. read more

I stay at a lot of small independent motels on my travels and came across Fort Verde Suites while on a motorcycle trip across the southwest. One of the NICEST places I've stayed at - room and amenities were much nicer than 90% of the independent places I've stayed (my budget is usually $100-140 a night). Very clean, bed had a very comfortable high quality mattress, had all the amenities refrigerator/microwave/coffee maker. Staff was also very friendly and welcoming. Will stay here again for sure when passing through! read more

This place is an older place and they tried their best to keep it in ok condition but it is what it is. We chose it because it had great reviews, but realize it just changed ownership recently so prior reviews may not reflect current things. Some COVID changes: No continental breakfast as advertised which makes sense The office hours are limited (ie closed at 7 pm and don't open til 10 am) so you check out by leaving keys in a room if you leave before 10 am. We had checked in at 7 pm and left by 9 am, thought it was odd, but this was just a routine stay... so no big deal with the pandemic. .... Or so we thought (read below) On a good note - the place is clean enough, sheets are good enough and no obvious bugs or anything. They have a suite where two rooms are connected to a kitchenette which was perfect as we had two families (total 7 people) stay. The AC is under lock so only management can change the temperature. Stephen addressed the issue when we called him in the evening. However because it is an older unit, the AC vent is in the back of the room so my son who slept on the bed near the vent was fine. My daughter who usually gets cold easily, slept on the far bed. She woke up in the middle of the night hot. I really did not want to drag someone out of bed to fix this so I made her deal with it and after 2 hours she did fall asleep again. If you are a light sleeper, then the AC is noisy and you may have trouble sleeping like our friend's daughter. Although it is advertised that they work on cleanliness, in the room there is a printed white paper taped to the wall and inside of the cabinet door that says something like "multi-use items have not been sanitized". They are extremely efficient in charging you, however in terms of responding back it is not as efficient. I had checked my credit card about 4 hours after we left and was charged $45 in "cleaning damages" for 3 towels/bath mats. After multiple calls (mainly on my part), they finally sent me pictures of the "damaged" towels/bath mat. I have posted the 8 pictures Stephen sent me of the towels/bath mats that they said we damaged. I have also included pictures of the beach towel we used for this same trip which got muddy from the river. And then the same beach towel which we did a routine wash without bleach when we got home. The facility must be using different cleaning supplies if they are not able to get rid of the dirt spots/streaks when we were able to clean a muddy towel with a regular washing machine. read more

Traveler beware, the management is very unprofessional and rude. Never have I experienced such verbal abuse from a so-called professional hotel/motel. The bathtub was lined with a sticker over what appeared to be unremovable grime with additional grime on top. Had to put a towel on the floor of the tub to not be grossed out. We complained with no acceptable result. The towels smelled awful and obviously were not sanitized. checked out early and was told that they required 72 hours cancellation. If you stay here, I would pay one day at a time. I will never ever stay here again! read more

Sought this place out on my trip from PA purely because it seemed "off the beaten path". Five stars for the motel staff, who seemed committed to my pleasant stay; deduct a star or two for the town itself. Stopped by the local liquor store to pick up a bottle of wine, and was greeted with rows & rows of whiskey, beer, & candy, and only one end-cap of wine. One of the two locals hanging out in the whiskey section (who didn't seem to work there, seemed only interested in chatting with the cashier) saw me searching and called out, "hey, are you LOOKING for something?!?" Very friendly. Very friendly indeed. When checking out of the motel, brought my room key back & knocked on the office door. "Hey!" I heard from the next motel room over from the office. "See that box? Just drop it in there!" By this time the (polite & friendly) motel employee had answered the door, pleasantly took my key & asked my how my stay was. I thanked her, and promised a satisfactory review, hence these three stars. To the voice from the next room over I simply replied, "I prefer the personal touch to a drop box". A couple months later, reading about armed mail-drop poll watchers in tactical gear intimidating voters in Yavapai County, I thought... yep. Sounds about right. Lovely, charming establishment in which to stay. Try talking to your neighbors and convincing them that "outsiders" (e.g. other Americans) are ok people too. read more

Decided to take a quick hiking trip away from Las Vegas with my brother & sisters. Camp Verde is the perfect "in between" from all of the hiking trails we were excited to see! Fort Verde Suites is a nice little motel in the cutest, little country town I've ever been in! The room was very clean! I have to admit, I was worried about bugs being in a itty bitty town in a motel, but we didn't see one in the room at all over the 3 nights we stayed here! Decently priced, and most importantly.. had a working AC unit! (it's summer time--so it's HOT outside!) Our room was decorated with cute, rustic fixtures (I should've taken pictures when we first arrived, darn) There's a cute little picnic area to enjoy dinner, after the sun goes down of course! =) The motel staff was super friendly. Steven was super helpful with check-in & had great recommendations on where to eat in the area. Definitely plan on visiting again, soon! Just maybe not in the middle of the summer. read more

Don't let the 3 stars detour you from here. I was actually torn between three or four stars because it really is a nice hotel for such a small town. The only reason I gave three stars is because I had some issues with the cleanliness in the bathroom. Upon first impression I really like this little hotel. They are in a great area located within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The staff is friendly and the front porch area looks so welcoming with rocking chairs and tables outside the rooms. I liked the appearance of the room and it's furniture and decor. They are dog friendly and have small dog area off to the side of the hotel. They have a drink station in the office and also offer some free simple breakfast items in the morning. The bed was too firm for me, but my husband loved it. We got a room with a kitchen, which was in a large separate room. It included a table with four chairs, a good size refrigerator, microwave, toaster, utensils and dishes. However, it's not a "full" kitchen because there is no stove. Like I said earlier, my only real issue was the bathroom. There were several smashed bugs on the walls along with a smeared red spot on the wall that may have been bug blood. There was half of a broken nail clipper next to the wrapped toilet paper roll and the area of the door all around the handle was dirty with handprints. I hate that they use plastic shower curtain's because you can't launder them. And there was a smeared blood spot on the shower curtain that may or may not have been bug blood. Due to the fact that I felt I needed to clean the bathroom before I used it (thank goodness there were Lysol wipes in the kitchen) I took away one star. There were a few other little unfinished details that we're not a big deal but still noticeable. However, considering the great price of the room, none of that would stop me from staying here again. Overall, I really did like the Fort Verde Suites and the downtown area where it's located. I would definitely recommend that you stay here if you're in the area and especially if you're traveling with your dogs. read more

My family stayed here for a night in the family suite, after sightseeing at Montezuma's Castle. This little motor inn looked super cute and we wanted to check out the Verde Brewing Company so we decided to stay here before heading back to Flagstaff. The family suite has 2 rooms, one with a king size bed and the other with 2 queen beds. Both rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Having 2 bathrooms made it especially nice since we have 2 teenagers. The free wi-fi was great too! The kitchen/dining room area with the table gave us space to play cards in the evening. Having the refrigerator to refreeze our ice packs and keep our water bottles cold was great. We had to head out early so I had brought some easy breakfast items that could be heated in the microwave which was really convenient. The rocking chairs on the porch were a nice place to relax and enjoy the evening. The price was fantastic! What I paid for the suite was comparable to a regular hotel room in Flagstaff. We had a great stay and would stay there again. read more

As motels go, this was a good value. Rooms had a western touch and were clean and comfortable. I really liked the fact they didn't put us right next to another room that was occupied but instead spread everyone out a bit. It only took 30 minutes to get to Sedona and camp verde had a few pretty tasty restaurants. They had cute little rocking chairs outside all the doors. I wasn't able to control the thermostat which was slightly irritating but the weather was nice and cool so I cracked the window. Family owned and operated, this motel is a good option for camp verde and they take pets with a fee. I'd stay again. read more

We stayed here 3 nights while visiting Sedona and the surrounding area. Other hotels could learn a thing or two about housekeeping from this one. Our last road trip we stayed at a number of Best Westerns that we're not half as clean. Everything in our room worked. Great water pressure. The towels were soft and fluffy and the sheets soft. The continental breakfast includes fresh coffee, orange juice, and milk. English muffins, bagels, oatmill, cereal, and fresh fruit. The staff was friendly and helpful. Fort Verde suites is in a great area. The vicinity is great for those coming to explore Arizona. Close to Sedona and many beautiful hikes. The rooms are nice and include a full kitchen. There is an awesome 24 hour taco shop 2 minutes away, a antique store across the street and a feeding store / market next door where you can buy drinks. The mattress and pillows were extremely comfortable and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Fluffy towels, nice, unique and tasteful furniture, good toilet paper (!), nice flooring. The only shortcoming I found was a lack of electrical outlets and no USB outlets for charging. We truly enjoyed our stay at Fort Verde Suites and at Camp Verde in general. The price was very reasonable, checking in and out was very easy, personnel is very friendly, the room was very clean, they offer continental breakfast every day, WiFi and cable TV, the rooms could use a larger TV set though, and the best (for me) was the rocking chair in the room, it was so comfortable. Loved the western decor. Since We paid for a suite, we had an extra room with a table, a full fridge, microwave, hot plate w/2 burners, all the kitchen ware, and a sink. I don't know if all the rooms have fridges though, but giving them a call will let you know. There are a few good restaurants within walking distance. Camp Verde is a small town with National Monuments, Historic Parks and Ranches, train adventures, a museum, a library, and the charm of an old town with very friendly people. I definitely recommend visiting Camp Verde and staying at Fort Verde Suites. read more

I'm not sure why folks posted a Laundromat review on a hotel site but this review is for Fort Verde Suites. The staff was very accommodating checking us in early. It's very nicely decorated and clean. I like the way they took what could have been a standard looking room and updated it with nice country décor. TV channels were a bit sparse but we were not in the room much. It's great for bikers being able to pull right up to your door. They had a nice continental breakfast in the lobby in the morning and there is coffee in your room with a cute metal ice bucket and wine glasses. Nice touches throughout. Cheap - Rude - Crass - Moneygrubbing - these are just a few of the terms that come to mind when thinking of Debbie and Fort Verde Suites I stay in hotels -frequently- when traveling for both work and fun - The room was comfortable - there is no exhaust fan, so steam etc are an issue if one takes a shower or uses the rest-room. - The room was clean, within reason - the refrigerator was nicely cold when we arrived - All seemed well - until we checked out - I got a call 2 days later "a beanie hat was left in your room" - So I called them back and spoke with Debbie. Yes, that was us - yes, that is my daughter's beanie hat - yes, I'd like to have it back, can you mail it? - Debbie seemed genuinely surprised that I wanted it back - I explained that we live 2 1/2 to 3 hours away and did not want to re-make the drive - Debbie took my street address, took my email address and then demanded a credit card to cover the mailing cost. Wait - whut? Debbie stated "Oh, it probably won't cost all that much" - I was substantially less than pleased - Never ever going to this hotel again - never ever recommending them to anyone - ever - Debbie has permanently ruined this place for me, rather than "We're gonna drop it in an envelope and spend $2 on postage as a good will gesture" - So in the end, Debbie - it is going to cost quite a bit in terms of ill-will and lost revenue. read more

First, let me tell you what the guests in the room next door thought about this place...because I heard every single word of their conversations! They said they were happy with the place because the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Call me a hotel snob, but it takes a little more for me to be happy. Just to be clear, this is an old motor lodge. I knew this before arriving, but I thought it would be renovated and new-looking. It's clear there have been renovations, but they took place a while ago. Furniture and bed linens are stained. There's nothing worse than a thief. I made my wife and I tuna salad in our room at the hotel before we left out exploring for the day. I prepared three containers (nice Pyrex glass with plastic lids) with the tuna salad, sliced red onions, and the last with pepperocini peppers. Unfortunately, I left them in the fridge when we checked out of the hotel. That was a big mistake. Just about noon, I started making lunch at the park, and realized I had left our sandwich makings in the hotel room. Since we were only a couple of blocks away, I drove back to the hotel and explained what happened. I was immediately told, "There wasn't anything left in the fridge" by the manager. The maids were not sure who actually cleaned the room, but somehow they were also sure nothing was left in the fridge. Like I say, there's nothing worse than a thief. Of course I knew exactly where I left the sandwich makings. I had just put them in the fridge a few hours earlier, and forgot to take them with us! Other than that, the rooms were clean (haha). The ventilation system puts neighboring rooms on a "party line" - you can plainly hear your neighbor's every word. That was annoying, since we had late-night neighbors. The bath tub drain was plugged, but I was able to get the hairball through by flipping the drain valve several times. Then the drain ran very slowly, but it at least drained. The WiFi worked OK. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

We got stuck with major i17 closure...we were at Riversprings stuck since 4 p.m. it is now 10 p.m. had to find nice clean place to sleep...Road closure for another 4hrs..we have a long ride back to California. Found this nice quaint place for lodging front desk was nice and welcoming very helpful..room is very clean, complimentary water, coffee, cable and wifi, microwave and fridge to make us comfy..continental breakfast with room in morning to help see us off..unexpected stay..but better than being stuck on the road like we have been for the last 6 hours...thankful and blessed we have a place.. read more

Loved this place! It is very affordable, in a good location to get to a lot of other things, and the manager was so understanding when my child kept disconnecting the tv service by pressing the wrong buttons (the tv remotes were a bit confusing). The beds were so comfortable and the rooms so nicely decorated. Everything appeared new and clean and it was a nice place to stay. The adjoining door to the next room with other people in it did have a big gap under it, so we could easily hear conversations, but all in all, everything was so nice, that didn't bother us too much and we just put a rolled towel against it. The bathrooms were so nice, newly re-done and probably better than any other hotel/motel I've ever stayed at...outdoor chairs and tables to sit outside....such a nice place! read more
