Funny enough, there was not an option to do 1/2 stars, so since hubby said three and a half, and I said two and a half we went with three even! This is definitely a brew pub and not really my cuppa tea! However, it was a nice enough place if you're looking for this type of experience. The tap room is a combination of bright and dim lighting. The interior is industrial, and according to my hubby their beer was unique and very good. He had the, I Got Jokes, which is a fresh hopped pale lager. Since I'm allergic to hops this is not something that would entice me, even a wee bit. However, as I said, to himself the beer alone would have caused him to give a three and a half! The pizza according to my hubby was also unique and very good. As for me, it didn't suit my taste so much. However, as a fire cooked pizza it was loaded with lots of fresh veggies, and definitely wasn't "bad". As a chef, I tend to be a bit harder to please! Such a fun place! The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, which are usually always packed and accordingly, it's a very loud dining experience. Beer selections are great and staff will let you try a bit if you're on the fence. Food and service are solid and it seems that this brewery is THE place for pizza night in the community (read: so many families!). In addition to pizza and beer, you'll find the usual suspects of appetizers, salads, etc. And although staff does go around bussing, there are stations to drop off your own dishes and to grab to-go boxes. To celebrate some belated birthdays came out with a friend on a Friday night. NOTE: parking is very tight unless you get lucky otherwise be prepared to park down the road on the side street or dirt and walk over. Other nights when we drive by it is not packed by on Friday nights and evenings this place is packed! We sat by the ordering line and it never stopped with people out the door most of the time. Tip1: They have Wifi password on bottom right of the menu They have indoor and outdoor seating and def would recommend maybe having a separate line for beers during busy times since it prevented us from ordering more drinks. They do close early 9pm and week days and 10pm on weekends def leaving a lot of $$$ off the table. As far as beers they do not have much if any competition on the east side. In this case the food is better than the beer IMO and if Fremont, Holy Mt, Fast Fashion or bottle Shops like Chucks or Beer junction came to this neck of the woods they would lose a lot of beer customers. For someone who drank a lot of craft beers and searched for them this would not be the go to place that said for the avg. beer drinker this place is has good beers. Hazy ipa was good (on the sweet side and light body compared to the ones I used prefer) and their dark beers smelled better than tasted and on the boozy side (12% alcohol and not barrel aged) The chicken wings are great would recommend the mango habanero and all the pizzas I've tried here have been exceptional so can't go wrong. Not only the pizza was new york style with thin crust, also the choice of beers were on point. Very large indoor an outdoor area with family style tables. Outdoor area attracts maily families with kids, where the little can run around and play. This is a great spot for big group gatherings. They had several kid birthday parties going on when we went but still had enough space for others. They also have a huge outdoor area. Dogs galore were out there which is a bonus for dog lovers. The pizza was great! Had great pizza sauce. I love sauce! My friends thought the wings were good as well. Great brewery. You can't beat the gorgeous outdoor patio on a warm day with ample seating, space, and umbrellas to avoid a sunburn. The beer is fresh and tasty, and the food options are excellent. We've tried their meatball sandwich and a few pizzas and highly recommend all of them. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only downside (but also kind of a pro depending on your preference) is that dogs are not allowed inside. Totally understand this choice, but it does make it hard on cold and rainy days which come pretty often in Issaquah. read more

We had such a great time here in their spacious outdoor seating area where you can bring your dog. They also have a nice indoor area where you go to place your order. We started with a double IPA beer, vodka soda & a hot cider drink while we thought about what we wanted to eat. The service there is really friendly & they do come out to check on you & bring menus. We decided on a pretzel & wings. The pretzel was really good with mustard dip & beer cheese dip- both were delicious. The wings were big & meaty & perfectly crispy. I'm liking Formula Brewing more and more each time I visit. This time it was for lunch, which consisted of their yummy beet salad and a shared plate of tacos, which are only available on the weekends. The salad was a big portion and when upgraded with crumbled bacon, was more than enough for a meal. The tacos come as a serving of four (we opted for 2 beef and 2 chicken for an added dollar. With the sides of green salsa and loco de gallo these had a good kick of flavor. The bar server was very nice, letting us sample a couple of beers to help make a decision. I wish they offered flights, but alas there are 10 or 16 ounce pours only. read more

Craving some pizza for lunch on a Sunday and stopped in at Formula Brewing. Ordering is easy, they have pizza and beer at the front counter and then give you a number and you find a seat. Plenty of sports on the TVs and seating can be a little tricky to find when they are busy. We grabbed a table once another group had left. They also have outdoor seating which I'm sure is busy in the summer. Pizza is good and pretty large, we ordered pepperoni. I did think it was a touch greasier than I would have preferred but enjoyed the pepperoni cups. Beer is solid and they have a nice variety of options. Some friends and I stopped by after a long day of hiking and managed to snag a table big enough for the five of us before the crowds picked up. We each ordered a pizza (they are quite large but we had the appetites!) and drinks; I got the Honey Hot Pizza and a grapefruit vodka cocktail (can't remember the name exactly). Three out of five pizzas were served pretty quickly, so the two of us who didn't have pizzas yet encouraged the others to start eating so they could enjoy some slices while they were still hot and fresh. They were almost halfway done with theirs before one of the servers noticed that two of us were still waiting. He ended up refunding our pizzas and re-placed the orders for us, which was really generous of him and appreciated by us. The Honey Hot was great. We had some family visiting and decided to give the food a try. We ordered a large pizza and wings which was enough to serve 4 of us. The staff here always makes great recommendations for beer and suggested we try the smoke show pizza which I highly recommend. They also have cocktails on draft! Wow, this place is super popular. I learned about Formula Brewing, as I saw it right off of I-90. I had friends who had gone and raved about it, so decided to finally check it out to kick off the weekend on a Friday after work. And when I arrived here around 5:30pm, the entire outdoor patio was full. I mean, every seat was taken. Don't these people work? The only tables available were those that you had to stand at, including most in the shaded area towards the front of the brewery. Get here early if you plan to sit down out on the deck. You order at the counter and pick a seat, so if you want another beer, then be prepared to wait in the long line during when it's busy. I tried the hoppiest IPA, which was solid. My friend had a sour, which she liked. They have a good range of different beers. I also like that they allow tastings, as some breweries aren't allowing this during the pandemic. In addition to beers, the food menu mainly consists of pizzas, with salads, wings and small bites. The pizza is on the pricier side, but after a few beers, I don't think that matters. Lots of people were getting food when we visited. I love that Forumla Brewing is dog-friendly with a beer garden that's open and lively. It's a win for Issaquah. read more

After spending some time in Snoqualmie we decided to head to Issaquah to try out this new brewery, Formula Brewing. Covid-19 is still present in our lives and Phase 2 for dining in was initiated once again so everyone and their toddler was out and seemed to want to gravitate to this brewery. Despite high customer traffic we actually got waited on quickly and efficiently and we found seating outside in the patio area which could have gone better due to gusts of wind and cold but that's something nobody had any control over. The beers here were okay. I wasn't terribly wowed with the Mexican lager that I ordered but it wasn't bad. I think I liked Steve's beer a bit more as it was a Coconut Stout and it had a good flavor profile to it. Not only that it was a more appropriate beer for the colder weather outside. read more

I'm kind of a light weight and ended up drinking a few of the Mexican lagers and then saw the Czech pilsner and hoped to try that too.
