I came here to finish off my birthday night out with my boyfriend. The server was very courteous and hospitable; we asked various questions as it was our first visit there and he answered them very thoroughly. He provided the best service we have ever experienced at a bubble tea shop! However, compared to big name companies like Chatime and Coco, the drinks and food here were underwhelming. The drinks tasted rather powdery and the wheel cakes were not as fluffy and sweet as I had originally thought. Their Formocha bubble tea uses real vanilla bean in their mix, adding a little extra to your regular milk tea. I asked if they wouldn't mind halfing grass jelly and pudding and they were nice enough to make this one time exception. The drink was smooth and creamy and their ingredients tasted fresh, unlike some places there their toppings seems a little stale. Just a few minutes away from Yonge on Eglington Street, it's a good little place to hang out with friends on a weekday/weekend afternoon. Got an oolong bubble tea with tapioca; it was a little stronger in taste compared to the same bubble tea from Chatime but it was still very good. They gave me so much tapioca; I was so full. It seemed like a nice place to sit down and chat with a friend. There were lots of small tables that could fit a couple of people. Service was quick and friendly. read more

Ok serious question to the owners of formocha - why do you never make enough tapioca? I come at least twice a week and 50% of the time you don't have any tapioca. You "run out". I come at opening. I come at middle of the day. I come at early evening. You got NOTHING. As a bbt shop, tapioca is your staple. This never happens at cha time. Seriously, please get your act together. Are you in business or are you not? Originally 4 stars as I really like their taro smoothie, but -2 stars because they always "run out" of tapioca at all hours of the day. Truly unacceptable. Ordered a half-sugar half-ice oolong milk tea with tapioca. They controlled the sugar level pretty well, but the tea itself tasted kind of bland.. Tapioca was chewy! They also have a stamp card that gives you perks when you buy enough bbt from them. read more

I love this place. So many options- teas, milk teas, smoothies, yogurt drinks, etc etc. I love the lavender milk tea with the tapioca pearls. The almond and sesame teas are awesome too. This place is a nice alternative to your usual coffee shops. Coffee shops, you ask? Yes because the lovely teas can be served hot which is perfect for the winter months. The "bubble" tapioca pearls are optional which is good when you want to cut calories and you are always asked if you want your tea sugar free, low sugar or regular. Another plus. The traffic on eglinton getting there from dt is such a mess. The roads are horrifying. When I got there, it was quite empty which was a relief. The girl was polite and I got the formocha milk tea, 50% sugar and less ice. This is similar to what I get a chatime and the bbt was very tea-y which is usually a good thing but I didn't add enough sugar so it was very strong. The only reason I give it 3/5 is being there's hardly any parking in site, the roads were full of potholes, the condo construction causes traffic, and I didn't put enough sugar in the drink. It's a solid bbt place but I don't think it's enough to have me addicted. read more

It's been a pretty mediocre experience here. I only go back when I'm craving bubble tea and can't go anywhere else. The bubble tea is quite watered down most times and lacks flavour, even though I get it without ice. Likely because of the way it's made. Also, I thought the new cake wheel tasted awful! The eggy taste basically over-powered the cake and I threw it out after just one bite. Like another reviewer below, I too thought that one of the girls here was quite stand-off ish! I told her about the issue I had with the bubbletea, and she was almost indifferent to the issue. On the other hand, the guy that worked there another time was very responsive and ensured he made the drink exactly the way I like it. I have had better bubble tea in mississauga, with good customer service and at a more fair price too. So won't come back here unless they start changing for the good. read more

My boyfriend got the sparkling mango bubble tea with lychee jelly and it was very interesting! It's good and make sure you order slightly sweet because it was already sweet enough in my opinion. I got the taro coconut milk tea with grass jelly, and it was amazing! Again try slightly sweet to avoid overpowering the other flavours. I really loved their wheelcakes, we had the Oreo chia wheelcakes. It was lightly sweet, just perfect. However I wish the wheelcakes were a bit cheaper since it is pretty small. Service was fast and the cashier was friendly. The place is just too small for anyone to hang out in. We got lucky that it was empty but I can't imagine a full house. Their steeped teas are delicious and very fragrant albeit more expensive then bbt chains such as chatime, sharetea and coco but the item on their menu which I look forward to the most is their wheel cake. This dessert item is similar to taiyaki/ Korean walnut cake where a specific dessert flavour is sandwiched between two pillowy pastries with somewhat of a pancake consistency. Came in here around 11am. I know Formocha is really for bubble tea but I decided have myself an Americano and one of their desserts (which are from a supplier). I had a Strawberry Cream Glaze donut. The Americano is pretty good! The donut reminded me of Paulette's. It had a really sweet cream filling inside the donut. Next time I come back here, I will have myself some bubble tea! read more

I love this bubble tea shop! I've tried almost all their milk tea drinks and some fruity ones, I've never been disappointed! I never tried the cakes personally but my friends have and some say they are too sweet but still very delicious! I have tried their cream puff's and those are very yummy, they are crunchy unlike the average cream puff! (But they go soggy after 1 day outside of the refrigerator, and that is not yummy!) I like the choice of toppings, I've never had pudding instead of the regular tapioca which was interesting. Anyone who is in the area often knows that there is not a day that is not filled with construction workers and traffic. So my friends and i decide to go & get something to drink so that it could accompany us on the long bus ride back home. The cravings for bubble tea are real & can not be ignored so i was so excited when my friends and i saw this place. We are warmly greeted and i automatically feel like a regular customer who comes here often. I order my favourite regular taro bubble tea slush with tapioca , not bothering with extra sugar or ice options. It was made fairly quickly and very delicious. Some places that i go to for bubble tea either make it too sweet or not sweet enough but this bubble tea was equally levelled. The friendly setting added towards the good tasting bubble tea. Its nice how there is a little siting area for people to enjoy their drinks and food. Cant wait to go get some bubble tea again! read more

I am not sure how this place got 4 stars since the bubble tea was just very average and the pearls were hard. I gave it a 2 star because their service was awful. There were two people at the counter and one girl who was actually making the tea. The two guys were busy chatting so I had to wait for them to take my order. I've allllways chosen cha time as my go-to, but after Rachel introduced me to formocha... I've become a regular. Though I DO see the powder lined up by the machines, their bubble tea tastes pretty damn authentic (as in, powderless). I looove their hot bubble tea, and almost every flavour I've tried tastes better warmed up. I don't like their slush as much, so I'd recommend sticking to milk bubble tea when you DO get a chance to try them! God has answered my prayer with Formocha! As a Made-in-Taiwan Taiwanese, I'm rather picky about my bubble teas and this place totally nails their bubble teas and desserts! The quality and selection of their bubble teas are fairly comparable with that of Cha Time and a gazillion times better than that of Ten Ren ect. The service is very courteous and I love the decor of their shop and logo design. The patio outside is also quite nice in the summer. Out of all the places I've tried in my stay at Toronto this was one of my favourite bubbletea places. I got the Formocha MT with tapioca bubbles. My sister got the Matcha MT. Both were soooooooo good! The bubbletea wasn't overwhelmingly sweet and had more of a tea taste. I would definitely go back next time I'm in Toronto. read more

Well, what can I say, great bubble tea, great dessert, and great decor! From the creator of mimi puff, this store has perfected their bubble tea to the dot. I was recommended by the store owner to try their Formocha Milk Tea, which is very addicting with its rich milky, vanilla, and tea taste lingering in the mouth after the sip, which is greatly complemented by the mix of small and large tapiocas. And I've never looked back since. I've tried their pistachio and chocolate mousse desserts. Both are not very sweet but filled with intricate flavours, which really shows how much work they've put in to perfect the formula. I usually always come here once a week now for bubble tea, I love it so much! I've been attempting to try a new drink each time, and each drink I've gotten tastes great! So far i've gotten the taro milk tea, taro smoothie, green milk tea, strawberry milk tea, oreo cheesecake hill and rose milk tea. The only drink I didn't like was the oreo cheesecake hill because it had a strong molasses flavour, but that is just my personal opinion. I really like how you can customize the sweetness in drinks. I find the drink to be too sweet if I add lychee jelly to it so the fact that I can make the milk tea less sweet is great for me. The inside is small but there are enough seats to fit their customers. All the staff there is nice. There was one time where the cashier completely messed up my order but the milk tea still tasted good in the end so I wasn't very bothered! I have brought many friends here and told them to try their bubble tea, and they all now go to Formocha for their bubble tea cravings! read more

For what it is, it does well. Very simple establishment, nothing fancy. But the products are solid and the customer service was friendly and quick. I'm not the biggest bubble tea fan so please take this review with a grain of salt, but I tried my friends and it was very slushy like. This place used to be great, but I think they've had a change in ownership. Service is now terribly slow with no more than 2 people working. The other day I was there some new hire was being trained. I understand people need to be trained but there's probably some training one can do during off hours, instead of a step by step tutorial while customers are waiting.
