Not much flavor. Kids chicken strips were a chicken patty that was overcooked and cut up. Also came out lukewarm at best. The Rueben was soggy and had about three slices of meat on it. Very little sauce on the sandwich no and was charged for extra when I asked for more. Added the Parmesan truffle fries which were powered Parmesan with some truffle oil sprinkled on top. Again all lukewarm. The Timberwolf burger had maybe two jalapeño's on it and the onions were burnt. The regular burgers and kids are the same size. Housemade pickles were soggy and the cucumber skins were tough. The quality of food from when we had eaten here a couple years ago was subpar in comparison. If you are going to charge for upscale items then they need to be upscale in the quality of what you are serving. Will not be back.

Dear Management Team, Today, May 5, 2026 at 6:15 pm…read more I am writing to formally express my disappointment with a recent experience at your downtown Richmond location, Capital Ale House. On the evening of our visit, I hosted a party of 11 guests. Everyone in our party was present and seated by 6:10 PM. Unfortunately, the service we received from our waitress, Jen, was unacceptable from the start. Her tone and approach toward our table came across as brash and unwelcoming. As we attempted to simplify our order by keeping it on one check, her responses were dismissive rather than helpful. At one point, I was told in a cold and abrupt manner that I could not have my carrot cake before my meal because "that's not the way it comes." This interaction set the tone for the remainder of the evening. I requested to speak with a manager on four separate occasions, and each time my request was declined or ignored. It was only after Jen visibly became frustrated and stumped away that a manager was finally brought to the table. When Ruby, who identified herself as the manager, arrived, her initial response felt defensive rather than solution-oriented. While she did eventually apologize and stated she would take care of us by ensuring we received happy hour pricing, the overall experience had already been negatively impacted. What makes this especially disappointing is that I am a regular customer who dines at this location for lunch at least three times a month. I chose to bring my family here expecting a positive experience, and instead, it was quite the opposite. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve both customer service and management responsiveness moving forward. I would appreciate follow-up regarding this matter.

After a long day of flying, I really just wanted to order room service and relax. Westham Tavern…read moreabsolutely delivered -- literally and figuratively. This is the restaurant in the lobby of the Omni, and their room service menu has a really solid variety. Appetizers, soups and salads, sandwiches, fish, chicken, steak, seafood, other meat options, plus plenty of sides and desserts. There's something for whatever mood you're in. For my appetizer I ordered the fried green tomatoes. I'm very picky about fried green tomatoes because if they're not done right, they can be greasy and heavy. These were not. They were thick wedges of firm green tomatoes in a light batter, stacked with a spread of pimento cheese and finished with a drizzle of honey. The balance of savory and sweet worked really well, and the texture was exactly what I look for -- crisp outside, tender yet firm inside. For my entrée I chose the roasted lamb rack. It came as two double ribs over a sweet potato purée that had a subtle hint of cinnamon -- really nice flavor without being overpowering. The lamb was cooked to the right temperature, juicy and tender, with a light chimichurri and vegetables alongside. I also ordered the grilled corn succotash as a side -- corn, beans, and tomato. It was fresh and bright and complemented the richness of the lamb perfectly. This is my second time dining here. The first time I had breakfast out on the Westham Porch, and both experiences have been very pleasant. The service has been consistent, the food is thoughtfully prepared, and it's a great option whether you're dining downstairs or ordering up to your room.

It is fast casual - you order at the kiosk and grab a place to eat, listening for your number and/or text to alert you the food is ready. We arrived about 6pm on a Saturday night. It was busy and I grabbed one of the last two tables. It got very busy shortly after we placed our orders. The dining area is pretty big with plenty of bar seating around the windows. While we all ordered one after the other, our food didn't come out that way. Most of the food came out in about 25-30 minutes. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Juicy! Two people got tenders and three of us got sandwiches. The OG sandwich was very good, just messy! I ended up using a fork and knife bc it got too messy. The Mac and cheese was made with pimento cheese and was very good. My friend who got the fried green tomatoes said they were delicious and filling. Lots of goodies on top. Two friends enjoyed the collards. The only person who was underwhelmed was the person who got the Asian sandwich. Overall, if I wanted a good chicken sandwich and a Buttermilk and Honey was nearby, I'd place an order.

We walked in to find the staff bustling, cooking, and prepping orders, and the smell of some delicious fried chicken in the air. I saw the kiosks and was not too thrilled with the Wawa experience, but we gave it a shot anyway, since fried chicken is one of our favorites. The process was simple and allowed us to add or remove anything we could want, so that was nice. While walking to find a seat, we saw a person panhandling in the dining area, but the staff promptly removed him from the premises. I ordered us the Pimento Cheese Balls for an appetizer, and I chose the Fried Chicken and French Toast as my entree because I always try the "chicken and waffles" at every establishment that offers it. My partner ordered the OG Chicken Sandwich without tomato, and it came with crinkle-cut fries. It was about $40. The chef proclaimed our order was ready in quick succession, maybe three orders behind the guests before us. We waited about ten minutes, maybe fifteen at most. We picked up the orders from the counter, and there was a mix-up on the syrup, but the chef promptly rectified the situation. He was a no-nonsense kind of guy; straight to the point. He seemed firm, yet kind. It was clear the day had been a busy one; he even told us as much, which was great to hear (busy = fantastic food). The French toast squares looked like rye or pumpernickel, and they emitted a sweet aroma, a delightful hit of cinnamon and brown sugar. I drizzled the caramel syrup on my chicken and toast, sliced a piece, and paired a bite of chicken with the toast. I closed my eyes to savor the flavors: the toast was crunchy and almost gooey (yet, not overly so), the chicken was crunchy, the sweet cinnamon-y flavors from the toast, the caramel from the syrup, and the tender, moist chicken were a match made in culinary art. I cannot sufficiently describe the French toast in a way that would do it justice; it was crunchy and semi-gooey, and all scrumptious. I can only say it was the single best French toast that I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Next, I tried the fried pimento cheese balls. Oh my. If you like mozzarella sticks, try these. I adored them: elevated fried cheese, for real. My partner enjoyed her sandwich as well; she ate everything except some of her fries. I saved half of my chicken and toast for today because I am like a treasure golem when it comes to delicious leftovers. I am going to air-fry the chicken and skillet-heat the toast back to its original goodness. I told the cooks that that was the best French toast that I have ever had, and I mean it. Do yourself a favor and try it if you're into French toast. This one is the GOAT. Side note: I spoke with the head chef outside, and he is from another branch (possibly Henrico?) to whip this location back into shape. Two words: "Nailed it."

The Thai food here SLAPS! The dining area is fairly small, maybe about 10-12 tables, can see it filling up pretty quickly. Our server was super friendly and attentive (forgot her name) and was so nice to our noisy toddler haha. Food came out at pretty good pace and app, entrees and food didn't all come out at the same time which was nice. You HAVE to get their Thai sausage appetizer - If they made this an entree, I would get it every single time. The sausage is perfectly balanced with lean and fat and packed full of Thai flavor and spices. For my entree I got the Thai fried rice with chicken and this portion is HUGE, was able to take some home and easily serve it as another meal. The fried rice was so tasty and fried chicken was perfectly fried and came with a nice sweet and sour sauce too. My wife loved the pad se ew and got to take home her food as well. An assortment of beef and seafood that will certainly please anyone's palate. The first time was to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday this past December. They came in from out of town and I arranged reservations indicating the special occasion. The interior was beautifully decorated for the holidays. It was an interesting experience to go up to the next floor via elevator to be seated. We were greeted by our waiter for the evening who was definitely an experienced gentleman and provided us with some exemplary suggestions since we were first-time diners. From the bread to the salad and to the entree, everything was simply superb. Our waiter was on-point and simply outstanding. It was a perfect meal in all ways, and my mother was especially grateful for the choice. At that point, I would have easily given the experience a full 5 stars. My birthday was in February, so for my birthday, my parents had given me a gift card. I was so looking forward to going back since the first experience had been such a great one. We decided to make it slightly belated, and due to the bad weather, made reservations for early March. We were greeted at the front desk who confirmed our reservations and directed us to take the elevator to the 3rd floor. We went to the hostess' desk where a young lady merely uttered my last name, barely even looked at us, and proceeded to walk away with menus in hand. I assumed this was her way of guiding us to the table. When we made it to the table, she set the menus down and walked off. No "enjoy your meal," "thanks for dining with us," or "have a good evening," just silence, and away she went. For a moment I had to think if we had done something wrong. Maybe she was having a bad evening? Not sure. After a couple of minutes and young man appeared and introduced himself. He seemed to struggle a bit to recall the evening's specials. We ordered some appetizers, our beverages, and off he went. The upper level seemed so much less 'inviting' than the 2nd level. No more decor, but nicely decorated in a basic way. There were many other tables and booths filled with patrons. It was a pretty busy night. We had both ordered salads. However, hers tasted funny, so we sent that back. The bread was tasty. Our entrees arrived shortly after. They were very well done and quite tasty. No issues. We took some dessert home with us. Payment with the gift certificate (email) was quite a challenge, and I had to write down a very lengthy series of letters and numbers for the waiter. Seemed to take quite a while, but he returned with the adjusted bill and I paid the difference. The second experience was definitely not as good as the first one, mainly due to the hostess experience. I've always felt the hostess "sets the mood" of the experience, but she seemed more interested in something else entirely. That experience gave it a 3-star rating. So, I am averaging the two. I hope to return and I am hoping the second experience was just a fluke. The food is certainly worth the drive and among some of the best that I've found since moving to Virginia.

We shared three appetizers, the ahi tuna, blue crab croquettes and the fried green tomatoes. We all thought the fried green tomatoes were the best. I got a vodka soda with lime, which was so watery that there couldn't have been much vodka in it. I ordered the seafood trio pasta, and the only parts of the dish that had any flavor were the red peppers and asparagus. The sauce was really bland and my scallops were slightly under done. My companions each got steak dishes and were happy with them. I ordered the key lime pie for dessert, that came drizzled with strawberry sauce and was accompanied by strawberries and runny whipped cream. It was a huge piece of pie, definitely big enough to share. The pie was also disappointing as it had absolutely no lime flavor (or any flavor for that matter) and could have easily passed for a bland piece of cheesecake. Overall, I loved the building and staff, but was disappointed with my food and drink. I don't believe the quality of food justifies the prices charged.
