Hot lemon pepper wings & fries

I came here for happy hour with my friend for my birthday and I had the most amazing experience! The wait time was a little more than anticipated because at the time our server was also bartending, but it wasn't an issue because the restaurant is a total vibe. We ordered flights, wings, fries, lemon drops & shots. I got a catfish dinner & I think my friend got a lamb chop dinner. The wings were a little small, but in my opinion that means they definitely came from a steroid free chicken. The catfish was also fresh and my friend said she enjoyed her lambchops. The macaroni was also to die for, we both ordered extra Mac to go. I found out too late that they do birthday rewards, but I'll be back to try everything else on the menu before my birthday comes around again next year. Oh & ask for Taylor or Tiffany to take care of you, I'm sure all the waitresses are great but those two are phenomenal!

Eden Bar & Lounge - A Rocky Start with a Sweet Save! During our couples' vacation, my bestie and I decided to try a Caribbean brunch at Eden Bar & Lounge in Richmond, VA. Coming from Brooklyn, NY, and Connecticut, we were looking forward to a taste of home--especially since I'm from Trinidad & Tobago. Our reservation was for 12 PM, but upon arrival, we were met with confusion. The greeter had no idea about the event, the staff was still setting up, and the place wasn't quite ready. The owner explained that he was still waiting for the crew responsible for the Caribbean brunch event (which required an extra $15 fee). Understandably, our group was annoyed--how do you advertise an event and not have things in order? The lack of professionalism was disappointing, especially for something the community was looking forward to. Then came the redemption. Enter Symphony and Bri--our saving grace. They saw the situation for what it was and decided to make the best of it. Eden itself had nothing to do with the disorganized event, but they took ownership of our experience and turned things around. The owner started playing music, the vibe shifted, and just like that, our moods lifted--especially once the rum punch hit the table. And the food? Top tier. * Lamb chops with garlic mashed potatoes? Perfectly seasoned. * Seafood mac and cheese? Insanely good. At that point, we forgot all about the Caribbean brunch. Eden, you saved the day. What could have been a disaster turned into a vibe, and for that, we'll be back. You understood the assignment! Until next time, Eden.

They offer a variety of sauces and flavors that really elevate the seafood and make the experience feel unique and interactive. It was such a fun meal to share, comparing each bite and talking through all the different flavors. The service was excellent. Our waitress was knowledgeable about everything we ordered and made great recommendations. The atmosphere is just as impressive. The decor is simple but thoughtfully elevated, and sitting at the bar area feels like you have stepped out of Richmond and into somewhere like New York City. I also love following Lillian on social media to keep up with their latest specials. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves seafood.

Hats off to the staff at Lillian who continue to be wonderful, but now that they have scrapped…read moretheir dollar oyster lunch specials, the food has absolutely nothing to offer. Like too many restaurants in the Scott's Addition area, this is seafood cooked without finesse and then absolutely brutalized with absurd amounts of palate fatiguing, brash, loud flavors. Every item on the menu endeavors to conceal mediocrity in the quality and handling of the ingredients with explosive, overwhelming additives meant to shock you into submission. Things like black garlic and chili oil, raw garlic, sesame seed oil, and punishing heat are inescapable on the menu, which really says to me loud and clear "we do not understand the appeal of seafood, and might have a fundamental misunderstanding about good food in general." I don't exaggerate when I say these dishes would be improved (setting aside things like inability to properly cook octopus) by scaling back the flavors to 5-10% the loudness level they are currently at, to let the ingredients speak, and to make the dining experience less of a punishing marathon with no relief. I have had much subtler and more skillfully balanced dishes at Indian and Thai restaurants, cuisines known for strong flavor profiles. I'm through listening to these Richmond restaurants trying to excuse simply bad food by claiming "that's the nature of the cuisine." In this case, Lillian claims that dishes characterized by these cacophonous competing flavors is "South American." No it isn't - the person conceptualizing the dishes is just a bad chef who doesn't know what he's doing, and at the prices Lillian charges, that's inexcusable. Drowning every dish in flavors that overwhelm the palate is not a way to respect your ingredients or your diner, and only communicates youth and insecurity. Anyone who's eaten widely and knows their ingredients will rightly feel assaulted and insulted by this overpriced, unskilled fare. To anyone who decides to go anyway: Good luck with the digestive distress, and with the taste that will still be left over in your mouth the next morning, no matter how much you brush your teeth.

I was there for a private event. The crowd was warm and wonderfully mixed. There was a little chat before the event began that basically told us to not get kicked out by being mean or non-inclusive. Not sure how I felt about that. Parking in Carytown is its own contact sport. Come early -- your blood pressure will thank you. I parked 6 blocks away and was lucky to get that. Bottom line: Weird, welcoming, and worth every lap around the block looking for a spot if you're into crowds and are looking for something different.

The charcuterie board we ordered was excellent and a highlight of the night. The location is also great for nightlife. That said, the drinks didn't quite hit the mark for me, and the service was inconsistent. We were told guests are expected to be quiet during the sets, yet another group was talking loudly and nothing was addressed, which felt a bit uneven. Overall, it's not a place I'd return to, and I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a more diverse crowd.

A must stop in the downtown Richmond area!…read more It's truly a speakeasy with the door posing as a bookshelf. To get in, you must know the password or tell the host a joke that makes him laugh. We were escorted in and quickly noticed that this was more than a speakeasy-it was a full restaurant. We stopped in for drinks, but it was nice to have tapas. I got the popcorn with the Tequilla lime butter, which was the perfect balance of salt. I had a mezcal drink which was perfect! I'm such a fan of mezcal and am excited when I see it on the menu. Our waitress was a delight-super attentive and also a bartender so she was able to answer all of our drink questions. It was very spacious with outdoor seating. Definitely a 10/10 experience. I would definitely go again!

It was cooked perfectly. I had the shrimp andouille. It was delicious. We were greeted cheerfully at the door. The wait staff was very good. The restaurant had moderate noise since there was a large party celebrating a birthday. But I was impressed that there were obvious regulars at the bar. The biggest impression they made was calling me after I left a personal item on the seat next to me. While it wasn't something of large value, the fact that they found my number from the reservation and called meant so much to me. Highly recommend
