This location is a good sized and packed with tons of clothes ready for the season. The layout is great, and easy to maneuver and find things you need. And not to mention their huge sale section in the back! I believe everything on sale was an additional 50% off! I got a skirt for only $2.50! Winning. But only complaint is that the sales rack are greatly packed with clothes so it makes it difficult to sort through due to no room for movement. But I guess beggars can't be choosers! I had the best service from Shane upon walking in here! He helped me find a number of outfits since I have lost a bit of weight and nothing else fits. He knew exactly how I felt and after showing him a couple pieces I liked, he was able to pick out everything I would have never seen. Besides his great service and the cute outfits I walked out with, I was also able to FINALLY find bandeau type bras that I need and absolutely love. They're all I wear now. You can't beat F21. Forever 21 use to be a favorite of my daughters but we soon experience clothing detonation. Closed to everything we purchased fell apart after a few washes; pissed me off ! I figured it was just a bad run of manufacturing so I gave it another shot this X-mass (2018). So far the clothing appears to cheaply made as before...very disappointed. For some reason, I never seem to write reviews for big chains because for the most part they are all run very similar, if not identical. This forever 21 is just as big as the rest but is able to utilize their space more effectively. It feels much more open compared to the rest. I dread going to the one in Fashion Valley because there are always mobs of people and I feel so claustrophobic that I usually just leave from frustration. Plus, all the cute items I find have only L or XL sizes left, and I am far from large. The staff here at the Parkway Mall is exceptional. Forever 21 always hires young fashionistas who are sometimes snobbish but not this location. They are so helpful. Last time I was trying to find a certain shirt and the guy helped me look for a good 20 minutes. Their selection is much better and I always find so many good steals here. This location over the years have provided a good selection of inexpensive, fashionable, and feminine clothes for many occasions, but now it is time to retire this location as I have traded it in for far more square feet and way more selection. Read many reviews and they're pretty mixed, but I have to say our visit was a positive one. We take our foster kids here for a shopping spree and they really love going there. I don't shop there, but the kids really do have a good time there. The staff at this location was very friendly and helpful. If you're looking for great bargains I would strongly recommend that you give them a try. Our girls are looking forward to their next growth spirt so they can go back again. Wow! I called customer service and after 3 very bad experience with them, the final result was them telling me "well the store said you picked up the package". WTF! I even asked for a copy of the signature log that would have proven that I did not pick up the package, but they would not provide it. Shame on you Forever 21! You either lost my package or gave it to someone else and would not correct your error. Because of it you lost a loyal customer! Over $70! But, some of the ladies working there with my daughter were great and helped her pick out an outfit that she loved for her upcoming party. The ladies were patient and gave great suggestions. Compared to the their store in Fashion Valley, this Forever 21 in El Cajon is far better and bigger. They carry a wider selection and offer more space to roam around, unlike at the Fashion Valley one where you feel like you're being packed into a can of sardines. So yeah, size and selection give this store the edge. But *FAIL* to their underlit, curtain-style dressing rooms. I don't like it. It gets me paranoid. I'm always worried that somebody's gonna bust in unexpectedly, while other shoppers' boyfriends lounge nearby. Yeah. That's another annoying thing. Girls shopping with their boyfriends and taking them to the dressing room area. I mean, can we get the boy out, please?! Also, the dressing rooms are FULL OF DUST BUNNIES! I loved this store, but I hate the fact that their return policy stinks. I bought a $25 pair of high waisted stretch pants for my teen. Wow, wore once and they frayed on the seam. Tried to return or exchange with receipt, only after 7 days to no avail. Usually when you buy clothes after trying them on, if they fit you throw tags away. Well I should of kept them. I didn't know I bought a pair of disposable pants. I will never shop here again. They should have an exception to the policy. Defective fabric happens! They need to look at that differently, unless they know and still sell it anyways. Maybe that's why the junk return policy is in place. It reminds me of those small Asian clothing stores located in San Diego strip malls. At least those have cheap prices, you know what you are getting is priced cheap and cheaply made. Forever 21 you disappoint me and you probably don't care. Maybe if everyone boycotted this store they would improve their standards or have to shut down. It's all about supply and demand. I love this Forever 21. The customer service is great, they always help me find what I'm looking for. It is not too huge like fashion valley, so I'm never overwhelmed. This is where I always come. Their prices are great and so cheap. I know their return policy is kind of funky, because they only do exchanges and store credits, and they don't take anything without the receipt. Horrible customer service on multiple occasions. Today in particularly, I walked into the fitting room w/more than the max amount of items at a time (6 items per guest). Normally, at other locations they will assist you & grab the items you have that are more than the max amount & put aside for you. Instead, the three employee's in the fitting room just stared at me. They even began putting other individuals in the fitting rooms behind me. Personally, I found it to be very rude. Instead of staring at me w/my hands full & helping others when I was there first. On a previous occasion a male manager had given me false information about a bag being in stock. Not to mention, it seemed he was avoiding helping me because he did not go to break yet. I have very mixed feelings with forever 21. Don't get me wrong, the clothes are so cute and stylish! But I find the quality to be lacking. The material just isn't as great as you'd think it would be, especially for the price you're paying. If I'm buying a shirt for $25, it should still be in good condition after 3 months. I was a HUGE fan/spender of Forever 21 usually spending about $100 a month with them. However, today I went to take back a jacket I never wore that I ended up growing out of because I'm 8 months pregnant. I was 3 days late past the return by date because apparently they only give you 21 days to return something instead of the standard 30 days every other place on the planet gives you. I wasn't even trying to get my money back, I just wanted to exchange it! I can't believe they just turn away someone who was a few days late and visibly pregnant, like I can just jump out to the mall any day of the week. This is one of the friendlier F21s that I have been to. The sales associates always greet customers upon entering and exiting the store and I have never had an issue with finding an associate when I need their help. There are always smaller sizes left, unlike other F21 locations so that makes it ideal for me to come to this one in particular. The store is easy to navigate and find; the only bad thing about the location is the perfume stand right in front of it. Too much air pollution and soliciting passer-bys. read more

Let me start off by saying, that I have always been a huge fan of Forever 21. I understand that the clothes are far overpriced and that they fall apart after one wash but I enjoy the merchandise nonetheless. Guilty pleasure so to speak. I have shopped at this specific store for quite sometime, in fact, I can't really remember a time that it wasn't there. So you have to understand my excitement when I had seen a position for this location had just opened up in my specific area of expertise, Visual Merchandising. I quickly applied knowing that they would call me on account of the fact that I have a very diverse and extensive Retail Management background. Fast forward three days to 1/12/2014, I receive a call around 10:30 in the morning from a lady named Alira? I'm not sure because every time I tried to confirm, it sounded different. Alira tells me that she has come across my application for the position and asks me if I "really think I'm ready for this job?" Which would've been a fine question had she not suggested I apply for "something like sales associate instead" (I have held the position of Store Manager in stores like Payless, Spirit Halloween, and Dept Manager with Sears.) Yes, I am sure I don't want sales associate. It was clear that she had no interest in this interview from the start but I did, so I pursued. I was told to come in today 1/15/2014, for an interview "if you really think you're ready". So I waited patiently for two days and arrived to my interview this morning approx. 15 mins early. The store manager and I spoke briefly and she said that being early had scored me some brownie points and I had assumed this would go well. So Alira finally emerges from her lunch break with smeared eye makeup and food on her face. She takes me out into the hall and takes my resume. Immediately, she covers the top half and most recent part of my resume and only takes into consideration the jobs I held in 2007-2009. Totally ignoring my store manager positions. She then proceeds to tell me about her time with Forever 21 and how she is from Fashion Valley so she understands high end fashion more than the average person. Then without segue she asks me to tell her three things I like about her windows and three things I don't. I had no problem finding three things I liked, and she obviously enjoyed hearing them, but when I started to tell her about my dislikes she became defensive and cut me off after just one. I tried to explain to her my work history and why I felt this position was a fit and she just kept me referring me to "lower-end shops like American Apparel" She told me that none of my store management experience was relatable to Forever 21 especially Spirit Halloween, because there is no way to track specific trends. I can tell you that during my time with Spirit I was able to track trends on my merchandise and I was even able to use that information to boost my sales. I am no idiot. However she clearly had labeled me as one as soon as she picked up the phone. She just kept telling me that "maybe another store" would want me. I've conducted interviews for retail positions. I was able to read her like a book, she wanted compliments on her window and then she kicked me to the curb after she totally insulted all of my experience. I left pretty upset. Now here's the best part. I had felt as if my interview had been unfair, so in a last attempt to make a good impression I decided to email the store manager about my experience so as to prevent from happening again. As someone with Store Management experience, I had assumed that this would be information worth having to use in future coaching sessions. I called the store, and a young girl picked up failing to give her name she answered with a pretty abrupt "Hello?". I simply asked for the store managers email when this young girl quickly snaps back with "Why?". I didn't really feel the need to explain myself to this rude girl so I simply asked for the email again. She asks, "Is this for a complaint?" Now I can hear the girl just fine during all of this, so it struck me as odd that when she finally did divulge the information I was requesting she proceeded to mumble it inaudibly to me. I had to ask her to literally spell it out for me. H as in Halo. E as in elephant. and so on. However, she neglected to give me an email, and I can hear her talking to someone else in the background. The phone is the passed off to another girl who fails to give her name and she asks "What is it that you need?" I just need an email to the store manager, please. It honestly seemed like these girls didn't know anything. At all. Getting the manager's name was like pulling teeth. They referred me to a customer service line, who also couldn't give the information I am looking for. Since I was unable to contact the store manager directly, this platform will have to suffice. Needless to say, I have no plan or desire to return to this "shop". read more

Idk if they ask this to everyone, but they asked if I reattached the tag onto the dress, which is really fucking rude and makes a person feel like we're being accused of something. He then asked for my ID, which I don't understand why I need to show my ID for a return when I paid with cash. Great experience this time! I usually hate shopping weird to say because I am a girl. But for some reason forever 21 stores gets me very over whelmed because they have so many options and i give props to all the employee that works here they know exactly where everything goes and where to find something in particular. Back to my experience. Went here looking for my daughters promotion dress, few hours of shopping around the mall nothing, finally went to forever 21 and the one dress that caught her eyes were on a mannequin. Couldn't find another one anywhere around asked a few employee they just said well if its not around that area we don't have anymore. My daughter wondered if they would allow us to purchase the one from the mannequin so we asked Yarley, she said no but she did not stop there she tried looking for us and couldn't find one so she went on her computer to see if there was any left (which we really appreciated b/c then we atleast know if there was another one rather then searching for something that ran out) she said there was 2 somewhere around the store. So she went to ask around and the cashier Sierra said she did saw it while putting it away and pointed to the right direction. I just wanted to give a shout out to Yarley and Sierra for going out of their way to finding my daughters promotion dress which made her really happy and top it off it was only 15$ which made me really happy!!! I went into the store and asked the manager with a beard for help with an item and he claimed he would go to the register and check for the size but at the computer he pretended to type something in and didn't check he seems to never be doing anything but walking around an gyrating when I come in the store not only that but he also always ask employees who are in lower positions to do things for him they treat there employees horribly and customers ridiculous and a charge needs to be made I constantly see the workers on their hands and knees cleaning while the managers stand around and pass their duties to the sales workers poor work environment ,will not subject myself to a place that treats people that way for now I'll stick to H&M. read more

I went into the store requesting a pair of jeans off of the rack above me, when I asked for assistance and the manager, short dark woman, told me that I could reach it myself due to my height. Now, I am a very religious man, and believe in forgiveness, however after seeing how she treated me, I can only imagine how she treats her employees. She seemed very entitled and very haughty in spirit, and it is so sad that in a company that I love so much, there is a manager allowed to treat her customers and employees like dirt. Not a very big store compared to all the new Forever 21's popping up all over SoCal and I noticed that the old Mervyns at this mall was still vacant (a golden opportunity that many other F21s have utilized). I didnt see the diversity and selection that other reviewers raved about and I thought the store was just "OK." I was actually in search of some basics, like black t-shirts and tank tops, but there were none to be found. I found a cute skirt and pair of sweatpants that I thought was a good deal and I was happy to use the gift card I've had for a couple of months now. Clothes are ok priced cheap quality however . The customer service however has been terrible every single time I have been inside this forever21. No one ever engages you when entering the store and the employes seem like they are taught almost to not smile or give any eye contact.
