My car wouldn't start so I called AAA for roadside assistance. The original wait time was 90 minutes. Foresthill Towing gave me a call and said they would be there within 25 minutes. I recently had work done on my car so I knew exactly what was going on. I thought letting the guys know it wasn't my battery and exactly what was going on would help save time. Instead they were condescending-probably because I'm a woman. I wasn't trying to tell them how to do their job I was trying to save time so I could get my car up and running again. Two stars because they got my car started but if AAA dispatches them again I will refuse service. I would have rather waited 90 minuted for someone who wasn't so unprofessional and rude. read more

we called at 9:30 am to have our truck towed 1 mile to repair garage. The first truck showed up. 3 hours later then left. Said he couldn't turn around in our driveway cause his truck was too long. (funny how I have had 2 fire trucks and a paramedic truck turn around with no problem) they are supposed to be sending a smaller truck. it's now been 6 hours and they still have not shown up. this service is through AAA. Well they showed up at 4:30 that's 8 hours later, and got the truck to the garage 10 minutes before they closed. Really great service, right? read more

Transmission got stuck in park and we tried for a while to fix it before finally calling AAA. All of their flatbeds were busy when they received our call so their dispatch called to see if their service truck may be able to help so we explained the issue and agreed it was possible. Troy arrived within 10 minutes and spent over an hour with us trying everything to combat the issue so we could just drive the 2 miles home. In the meantime, they never canceled the call for the flatbed - thankfully, as we never were able to get the truck out of park. He stayed until after RC showed up with the flatbed and they both tried again. We had no luck so RC loaded up the truck and took us home. Our driveway has quite a few cars in it and can be difficult to unload in, but RC managed to get the truck, still stuck in park, into an out of the way spot not blocking other vehicles. Both drivers and dispatch were very polite and friendly and did their best to not make the situation more stressful than it already was. read more

Terrible customer service. Nasty lady on the line dictating who gets towed and why on behalf of AAA, a company she doesn't even work for. Stranded on the side of the road writing this because this company won't honor AAA policies. I know y'all are hurting for business and yet you still treat customers terribly. I'm surprised you have this many good reviews, however I'm not surprised about the many poor reviews. Also not a surprise you got bought out and no longer reside in Foresthill. I wish there is less than one stars to give. They said the tow truck will be there in 20mins. I clearly said I won't be able to come to the car by that time and I told them the time I will be there. The agent just completely ignored that request and sent the driver anyway to the car pick up location 20minutes before my appointment. There is no way to contact the driver. Agents keep calling and saying the driver arrived but I am not there. I clearly told them I will be there in 15mins. Even last call I said I will be there by 12.30pm and they left the faculty when I pulled up at 12.29pm. I was on time as scheduled. They sent the truck before the scheduled time and charged us cancellation fees. It is good to show up to appointments early but to leave before the appointment starts and charge fees for it is not acceptable! I needed the tow truck to move the car and I requested tow again via AAA and the same guy showed up. So would have done the tow first time without cancelling before the appointment time. Funny thing the second time driver just called me instead the agent. So looks like they just wanted to cancel the appointment and get that fees aside without really providing the service. read more

Foresthill's policy conflicts with AAA's policy. AAA told me I could get a ride from the driver, but Chris from dispatch told me their policy does not allow for that. Unless you have an extra car nearby or someone to drive you, you're basically screwed if you use these people. Also, they ask for proof of registration for whatever reason. AAA did not tell me I'd need to provide this to the driver. I'm in an already stressful situation and they made it even more stressful. I told Chris I'd be calling AAA back to have them send another contractor, to which he responded that they're the only service provider in the area. He had a very strong "my way, or the highway" attitude about him. I called AAA back and they sent another company over within an hour. Customer service is NOT Foresthill's priority. read more

My car overheated at the bottom of the canyon between Auburn and Cool. I called AAA for a tow at 4am and was told it would be an hour for the truck to arrive. After 45 minutes, Foresthill Towing called to confirm my location (20ft from the bridge on the Cool side of the river). After another half hour, AAA called back to confirm my location again. When I asked why they kept checking on my location I was told that Foresthill Towing was refusing to pick me up because I wasn't on the other side of the bridge (about 200ft). so now I have to wait another 45 minutes for another company to come get me. I would've driven the car 200ft (to the Auburn side) if it meant getting the tow truck here sooner - but Foresthill Towing didn't mention anything about "their area". Now I have to wait 2 hours for a tow because Forest Towing doesn't want to do the job they signed up for. read more

I called due to a flat tire on the shoulder of a highway at 3am. I was treated with hostility by the person answering the phone. I was told there were 7 people ahead of me and that I would need to wait for 6-8 hours on the shoulder for service. I mentioned I was concerned for safety to wait on the shoulder of the highway that long and asked for guidance. She put me on hold and then said that they were rejecting my call entirely and hung up on me. The next place I called, Rocklin Ace Towing, was extremely helpful and kind, and responded quickly to get me back on the road. If you need help, especially on the side of the highway in the middle of the night with a flat, don't call Foresthill! read more

I was stuck (with my dogs) in a dead EV battery car on Eastbound Hwy 80 last night near the Newcastle exit, just a few miles short (3.8) of my EV car range to a charging station at Hwy 49. Raymond came in about 15 minutes (unbelievably fast) to tow me and the dogs to a charging station. He was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Great experience. Had to call AAA for a tow and they contacted Foresthill towing to help us out. We were on highway 49 at evening commute time, tired, and with a load of groceries. Foresthill Towing contacted us right away and kept us informed of when the truck would arrive and that our driver would be Kyle. Kyle arrived at the anticipated time, was very friendly, efficient and professional. He loaded up our vehicle easily and drove us to our auto repair place in Grass Valley. Upon unloading the car, we realized that one of the windows was down. Unfortunately, the car's battery was gone by then, so Kyle hooked us up with a charger so that we could get the window back up before leaving it in the shop's parking lot for the night. Foresthill towing went way above and beyond for me yesterday. I hit a curb, flattened my tire & thought I had a spare. I didn't. I used my AAA service to have them respond but called a friend because the AAA wait time was 2 hours. Foresthill called me within 5 mins of my claim and had a driver coming my way. Because I didn't have spare, the driver was unable to help. My friend took me to get a new tire, and when we returned to my car, Foresthill tow was there seeing if I need help getting the tire back on! Richard... you went above and beyond my expectations!! Legit company. Locked myself out of my car. They got there within 25 minutes and got me unlocked and ready to go. Professional and courteous

AAA dispatched them to pick up my car after an accident. They had a 3 hour wait while it was 109 degree's outside. Then to make matters worse, they required us to follow them to the drop off site in our own transportation. I reminded him that my car was wrecked and I had no way to get home & uber doesn't service that area. Response was "company policy". After 60 minutes of trying to find alternate transportation and sitting in 109 degree heat, I had enough and paid out of pocket for an alternate tow. They were nice enough to take us home and then drop off the car. read more

When the tow truck driver brought our car to the mechanic, there was a homeless guy sleeping in the doorway to the mechanic office. Since it was late at night, the driver stayed until my mom and I were done cleaning out my car (about 5 mins) and were in her car ready to leave. This wasn't the best part of town, and I felt safe because the driver stayed a few extra minutes. We really appreciated that. I don't know his name, but Thank you! read more

OVERCHARGED! Gave 2 stars because the driver was cool but here is the run down. AAA sent this contractor and they asked if truck was registered, I told them tags are paid with incomplete registration. They said sorry we have to charge you $120 for the tow then, i said that's fine. She called back 5 minutes later and ask what the WEIGHT of the truck was not the GVWR which is 2 separate things. I told her that it's under 10k which it is 7500lbs ( stock pickup truck ) She said if it weighs over 10k then would go from $120 to $162, I said alright that's fine, driver checked the door tag and says 11,500lbs, that's NOT the dry weight of the truck! I hate telling people how to do thier jobs but she 100% doesn't understand how door tag numbers work or how the CHP/California law functions. read more

If I could rate this company at zero stars I would. I literally waited hours to have my car towed they called me and reprioritize my tow over a wreck on the free way which I could understand. But 2 1/2 hours later I texted him asking for ETA and they told me they're not coming at all and that I wanted to get a battery put in my car at a stereo shop and that's not a good enough for a tow. But that wasn't the case at all my car has transmission issues it starts up it drives by as soon as he gets to operating temperature the transmission starts slipping. I was late to work my clients very very unhappy making me very unhappy I literally waited from 10 AM to 2:15 PM before they even told me they weren't coming at all. This company is garbage and whoever was texting me is trash. Do yourself a favor if you're reading this don't hire these guys for anything they also received horrible reviews on AAA I don't even know why they still carry them. They were dispatched to me when I requested a tow through AAA membership. I had requested a flat bed because the car I needed towed was low. Foresthill Towing called and told me they could not tow my car because it was too low. They never even came out to look at the car, so they had no way of knowing whether the car would be too low or not. I have had cars towed by other towing companies with absolutely no issues. But Foresthill Towing decided to leave my car stranded instead of doing their job. read more

My nephew got a flat tire on Thanksgiving at 8:00 at night right outside our house in Auburn. He didn't have a usable spare and had to have his car towed all the way to S. Sacramento. I was worried the driver would be annoyed that he had to be pulled from his Thanksgiving festivities to help us but he was absolutely the best. He was super friendly and happy to help. I am writing this review to chronicle the excellent service I received from Forest Hill Towing on October 11th, 2020. My tire was punctured on Horseshoe Bar Road just off of I-80, and when I phoned AAA, the AAA representative said it would be over an hour before service would arrive. Jamie from Forest Hill Towing phoned me less than 5 minutes later and let me know that their driver, Larry, was very close by in the Raley's parking lot in Loomis finishing up another call and that he would arrive to help me within 15 minutes. Larry arrived less than 10 minutes later and despite the car being in a tight, sandy spot just off the road, Larry was able to switch out the punctured tire for my spare tire very quickly. I have followed Foresthill towing, and been a customer for over 20 years ago, back in the day when they actually operated in Foresthill. Today, when I needed them most, I was informed that I would not be able to ride in the truck due to Covid policy but would have to find alternate transportation back to my home. Really!? I broke down, my wife is a nurse working the late shift, and I want to get home. I asked if this was a AAA policy or Foresthill towing, I was informed that it was the policy of Foresthill towing. I have a mask, don't mind the window down, heck, I would even ride in the car being transported but was told I would need to find an alternate form of transportation. This is NOT AAA policy so called back and asked for another contractor. Thanks Foresthill towing. Over two decades of customer loyalty shot to hell with one really bad policy decision. Sue, the dispatcher, is curt and unprofessional. My husband and I have been stranded for 3 hours, we were told to try Foresthill Towing. I called twice, once to see if we can get towed to one place and that was too far so I called again to try and see if getting towed to a closer area than the original request would be possible. Both times, she sounded annoyed with me even calling... I suggest hiring a new dispatcher, one that knows how to adequately deal with phone calls and customer service. read more
