Unethical Practices: Improper Lien Sale on Recovered Stolen Vehicle - Avoid WAP Towing/Recovery!…read more This was, without question, the worst experience I've ever had with a towing/recovery company. My van was stolen 12 years ago and recently recovered by WAP. Instead of properly notifying me as the registered owner, they failed to make any legitimate contact. They then proceeded to place a lien on the vehicle for storage fees, conducted a lien sale without my knowledge, sold my van, and pocketed the proceeds. To make matters worse, they sold the alleged "debt" to a collection agency, who only then reached out to me--threatening legal action for fees I was never informed about or given a chance to address. I had no idea the vehicle had even been recovered until the collectors contacted me. This raises serious questions about their notification process and whether proper procedures were followed under California law (which requires specific notices, including certified mail, before a lien sale on a vehicle). It also makes me wonder how many other owners of recovered or impounded vehicles have been treated similarly--losing their property without due process while the company profits twice over. I reported the full details to the Valley Division of the California Highway Patrol, and they expressed significant interest in investigating. I hope this leads to accountability for anyone involved in these questionable practices. I strongly advise anyone dealing with WAP Towing/Recovery (or similar operations) to document everything, verify notifications, and be prepared to escalate to authorities like CHP, DMV, or legal counsel if something feels off. This company has shown a complete disregard for basic fairness and legal obligations. Do not trust them with your vehicle or situation.

Watched the tow truck driver start my vehicle and drive it from the repair facility backyard to the service area and asked a technician where to park it. I was standing with the technician at the time and told the driver that I was the owner of the vehicle and I specifically asked to not start the vehicle as we were planning on pushing it into the bay. Starting it and driving the car caused more damages to my vehicle. Super frustrating. If your insurance company allows you to pick a towing company, don't go with WAP. I hope they make this right and contact me after this review.

Unfortunately, I feel it's important to share a very negative experience involving this towing…read morecompany for the safety of others. On Thursday, December 18, there was a road rage incident involving Adam from Martinez Towing in Yuba City. He was driving southbound on South Walton in a tow truck, with his daughter in the vehicle. As my wife was pulling out of Creative Kids Daycare, making a right-hand turn onto South Walton toward the red light at Lincoln Street, Adam approached at what appeared to be well above the posted 35 mph speed limit. My wife observed him roughly 0.2 miles away when she safely entered the roadway. At the red light, Adam aggressively confronted my wife, calling her a "fat pig" for pulling out in front of him and causing him to brake. Given the distance, speed limit, and the fact that there was already a red light ahead, there was more than enough time for a professional driver to slow down safely and gradually. I am a former tow truck operator myself with 10 years of experience in the Bay Area, and safe, defensive driving was always a core part of our training--regardless of how rushed we were. What occurred here was completely unprofessional and unsafe, especially considering this happened near a daycare. After the incident, my wife and I went to Ramirez Towing to speak with a manager, only to later find out that Adam himself is the manager. The business is operated by a mother-and-son duo, and we were given what felt like a very dismissive and inadequate apology. I hope this review serves as a warning to potential customers about how this company conducts itself, both on the road and in business interactions. Professionalism, safety, and respect should be the bare minimum--especially in an industry that operates large commercial vehicles.

This business is run down and you can tell they are extremely desperate for cash. The worker guy Jesse playing on his phone was rude, disrespectful, and didn't know how to speak to customers. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Stay away from this shady business, you're better off contacting someone else for your towing needs. They don't even have normal business hours
