Words cannot express how thankful and happy we are with the expansion of our house with Murphy…read moreConstruction. When my husband and I first started discussing expanding our house in 2020 we were not sure who to contact. I saw a number of houses in our neighborhood with. Murphy Construction sign so decided to give a call. Skip called me back within 24 hours and was over a few days later to speak about what we would like done. He was very honest in terms of the cost of the extension as well as the time frame on when he could start work (we expected a wait time since everyone is redoing their house right now!). He was true to his word on both which we were very thankful for. We we're also extremely thankful that Skip and team were understanding when we said we had a baby on the way to ensure everything was done prior to his arrival (which it was - HUGE THANK YOU!). In terms of work, Skip, Marvin and his team demolished our sunroom and previous bathroom and added on a new hallway, linen closets, bathroom, additional bedroom and family room. They also redid our floors upstairs, finished the attic, provided new windows in a previous bedroom, installed wall air conditioners in 4 rooms and created a covered patio area outside off of our new family room. Our smallish 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house has truly been transformed into something we couldn't imagine. We are beyond happy with the way everything turned out and could not be more thankful. The whole team was extremely courteous, kind and responsive. My husband and I both work from home so we literally were around to watch the house transform around us. The team showed up diligently on time, every single day and quickly and efficiently worked to get the job done with a few short months. We even made some changes as work was progressing and they were more than accommodating to ensure the job was done to our liking and to what we wanted. Laura, one of Skips office managers was also wonderful in ensuring any extras we added on our changes were relayed to Skip and team. Overall, the whole process was seamless and we fully recommend them to anyone who is looking to remodel. All of the sub-contractors (plumber, electrician, tile, floor, foundation, etc) they used were also truly wonderful so it was comforting to know that we had people we could trust at our house. We will definitely be using Murphy construction in the future when it comes time to redo our kitchen :) To say we're beyond happy is an understatement !!

We interviewed almost…read moreevery major company in the area and select DK based on recommendations from our local FB group as our town sees dormers often, cost of project being comparable to our second choice company, and time to complete being much shorter than anyone else. We lived in the house during the project with 3 very young boys so time to complete was one of the two biggest deciding factors for us. We had to pause the process early in the quotes stage due to a personal loss and I will never forget the kind words Tommy, an owner, shared when we told him why we wanted to pause. There was zero pressure or scare tactics used to continue then unlike some other vendors and that conversation is what sealed the decision for us once we were ready again. Once we got the start date, the construction went fast. Angel and Blake were great project managers. Angel was so loved by our boys since he would always interact with them as soom as he arrived which was right around when they were heading to school. He showed them around when the curiosity got to them and made sure they basically had a red carpet treatment as they came home from school. Both Angel and Blake kept us in the loop of every stage and the crew works incredibly hard. They showed up on weekends when they expected bad weather, cleaned up after themselves so well, and let us know when things would get loud so we knew to leave home for that time. Blake was great with giving us suggestions since home building/designing is not our forte and we ended up going with pretty much all his recommendations. We like that the back office team seems to do a great job with all the backend work too. Tommy checked in often which we loved seeing and when we did run into an issue, he quickly resolved it.

The original plan was to repair the brick steps and landing at our front door, which had been damaged over the harsh winter. In consultation with Nick -- the son of this father-son-run business -- we turned a routine repair job into a redesign plan that turned out beautifully without pushing the price point! Nick is skilled, knowledgeable and creative enough to seamlessly repair all cracks and vulnerabilities while also adding blue stone as step-toppers. Nick Giroffi Masonry also spruced up our walkways, front and back, with a power wash, followed by the renewal and upgrade of the sand between the bricks. They did a good job with our deck as well. This company earns our praise and trust for not only a job well done, but also for replying quickly to our first call, scheduling the work within a reasonable time frame, and keeping communication open from start to finish. We wish Nick and his company well going forward and will turn to them again as needed. We recommend Nick Giroffi Masonry for any brick or concrete jobs anyone may have.
