The first time i hired Tim and Kevin was for the roof and I was very pleased with the job that they did. So last year when my husband and I decided to add a second floor in our house we called Four Decades and were blown away with the results. Again this year, we called them again for a full remodel of our kitchen, work in our backyard and opening up a seperate entry to our basement and again they did an amazing job. I love four decades! I went to them on a recommendation from a friend and I regretted nothing. I got my grandmothers first floor redone, a railing installed and some fence work accomplished. Tim is incredibly professional, usually punctual, does amazing work and sends a solid team of people who are patient and completely understand. I had to get a house updated for a court situation and was operating on some EXTREMELY tight deadlines and Tim delivered above and beyond. I really do love them and their work is stellar. The bathroom he left us with in my grandmothers house is not only much safer for her but is also stellar to look at. Some tips: Tim is a busy man, in high demand and is difficult to get ahold of initially, so keep reaching out to him. Initial scheduling was a bother but once the job was confirmed and money changed hands he was present and awesome. The lovely woman who answers his phone needs to be followed up with as well but everyone on his staff is amazing. We have no complaints and will be calling him for literally all our projects. Like. I am a business owner and really don't like writing reviews but this one is necessary. I Hired them to install a dormer on my house and install new roof on an existing extension and a garage. After 2 years the roof on the extension was leaking. The roof comes with a warranty. I called Tim the owner and he came by with one of his laborers. They looked and said everything looks good it's probably coming from the new window he installed. He had me take down ceiling to see where leak was coming from. It took a month for him to get back and do a hose test and couldn't find the leak. So he proceeded to caulk around the window. Roof still leaking I kept asking him to have the roofer come but he kept making excuses that it wasn't the roof. The nonsense and run around of guys coming by and not showing up and excuses went on for 10 months. Last time he came on 11/25 he saw the water coming in and had his laborer again come and put silicone on joints of shingles. Obviously has no clue about roofs. I have since hired a roofer and saw that he did the job improperly, they never used weather shield under the new roof. I paid to have another roof done the proper way. read more

Please think twice before hiring four decades contracting to do any work in your home. i had the worst experience with this company. they did a dormer on my home and was paid in full and up to now they haven't signed off on the job in order for me to received my C.F.O. from the building dept. i am getting fines for this dormer stating that the job was done without a work order. i have been going back and forth with the owner Timothy Molley for years now and he keeps pushing me off. i will let everyone in my neighborhood know about this contracting company. Tim Moley came to us and gave us an excellent, fair price to build our second story dormer. Words can not truly express how happy we are with this company and to Tim Moley the owner. Timothy Moley, CEO of Four Decades Contracting, Inc Lic# 851723 and his cohorts are ineffective, incompetent charlatans. One star because the twitter poop emoticon is not available. My mom had a $10.5K contract with these people in November 2015 for work be done in December. They procured the financing for her themselves. They went through two banks but settled on the one that approved her for almost 3x the contract value. They then took the $35K in November but Timothy says that he caught the transaction performed by Chris Smith, the stooge that gave my mom the contract, and sent the money back to the bank. The workmen, who Timothy insists are Chris', showed up unannounced on the two coldest days at the start of January to work on the roof. For two days I endured demands for coffee and use of the bathroom from his migrant workforce, who worked as well as they spoke English. When they worked on the roof, they removed protective insulation from the side of the house, which they never bothered to put back. The cold air came into the house over the two days and froze and burst the pipes in the family bathroom causing a flood that went all the way through to the basement. The main leak cost $400 to fix and that entailed ripping out part of the already caved in ceiling in the newly done first floor bathroom that was also flooded. The second leak is a drip under the tub and cannot be fixed until some of the framing is cut out. Demolition work on top of plumbing work is more money, which I am in the process of getting an estimate for. By Sunday of the same week, it rained and the leak, which they did not fix, was now a waterfall. When we called Chris, Timothy and the lot, they made promises to show up and didn't come, they did not return our calls, and Chris hid, literally around the corner at my neighbor's house, just to avoid dealing with us. Four Decades Contracting, Inc. later sent a different team of men who showed up unannounced with no permission to work on the roof. Supposedly, this group is sent in to "fix" things. Well...they fixed nothing. Aside from causing two more leaks for a grand total of three leaks, they left their food garbage behind on my mom's and neighbor's property that I had to clean up. The biggest mess, they left on top of my worm bin that caused the lid to cave in and shatter to bits. It was at this second visitation I spoke to one of their other reps for about 45 minutes and the gist of the conversation was as such: they have different quality of workers for different types of people. The rep also said that the men they sent originally did not possess the skills to do the work we needed done on the roof. These same men worked on my neighbor's house and cut the power off to her house and tried to act like they were not responsible. Like her, they also tore holes in our window screens with their ladders. These were the same people who after they finished working on my mom's roof had the nerve to ask me for a tip and another one said he could fix our chimney. When I spoke CEO Timothy, he said that his company is not responsible for the damage caused as a result of his men removing the protective barrier from the side of the house. According to him, it was our fault because the pipes that burst were not wrapped. When I explained to him that we have lived here since 2003 and never had that problem before, his response was indifference. That was no surprise to me considering what they did to my neighbor. In addition, I should have known something was up when my mom told me that WellsFargo is their bank of choice. Their inside man, Carl M., made sure that they got paid in full before the work was done and against the stipulations of the contract. When I told him that I could send him a copy of the contract so he could see that it was breached, he said there was no point in doing so. He said he would put in a dispute on our behalf. Nothing came of that. It's funny though that when we filed a complaint with the bank's billing dispute department ourselves the contract was the first thing they wanted. If you see or hear of anyone with the name Moley, Chris Smith, or anyone claiming to be in alliance with Four Decades Contracting, Inc. run, do not walk, as fast as you can in the opposite direction. Warn your friends and family. They love to target black people especially the elderly ones. read more
