Typically at Ford (locally) I get charged $100 ish for a diagnostic fee and that goes to repair as well ( had these done on my 2019 F-250 diesel which is more expensive on maintenance . Especially on something easy like this. They want $200+ (crazy) 'testing fee' and the $300+ for parts and labor (standard). David couldn't help me on this but at least he informed me of my maintenance recommendations due 14k miles ago which are up to date. All this to say, the repair is scheduled elsewhere. I am happy to pay for the repair. I just don't have the confidence these guys will give me a fair(subjective it's a dealership, I know) price or not lead with a sale. Hope this helps someone.

At the same time, the quality of the cars I saw left something to be desired (things like chipped paint, warning lights and broken buttons on the dash, loose, wiggly seats). I was told the work done on the vehicles is all handled in-house by their mechanics. However, their policy for warranty is one month only at time of purchase, there is no option to extend that warranty at all. This made me uncomfortable, as, to me, a longer warranty would have shown that they put more trust in their work. T.L.D.R. Respectful staff, no negotiation hassle, but be mindful of vehicle quality.

In the meantime, we were given a rental car by them. They don't have many rental cars, so we had been waiting for it. We got a voicemail on Friday night that the car was returned and we picked up this car on Saturday. The service department is closed for nights and weekends. Chuck Colvin got us this rental car less than 24 hours from the previous renter. At first we were thrilled, but now we are receiving a bill from them claiming all this damage that we did not do. We only used this car to drive to work and back, as we are used to electric cars and hate paying for gas. We've never had to use a rental car before, and of course are realizing now we should have taken pictures. Now this company is trying to make us pay for damages that the previous renter must have acrued while they try to cover up that they didn't do a proper inspection. They tried to send us a rental agreement with just "none" written under damages out (when we picked up the car) and then attached pictures of the damage we did. No photos of what the car looked like before we picked it up, because there wasn't proper insection/protocals/pictures taken. We should not pay for their mistakes. Do not buy from them or rent a car from them. They are shady, to say the least.

His communication was excellent, he kept me informed throughout the entire process, and I genuinely felt like my vehicle was in good hands. Customer service like his is hard to find, and he made a stressful situation much easier. I do want to mention that after the new engine was installed, my Escalade ended up stranded on the side of the road because a technician had accidentally forgotten to reconnect a clamp on a reservoir. While that was certainly frustrating, what truly impressed me was how Lum's handled the situation. I called and left a message, and their team immediately stepped up. They arranged to have my vehicle towed back to the shop on a Saturday, quickly diagnosed and corrected the issue, and then went above and beyond by personally delivering my vehicle back to me because of the inconvenience. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but a company's true character is shown by how they respond when something goes wrong. Lum's GMC handled it with professionalism, accountability, and genuine care. Because of Shaun and the way the entire team took ownership of the situation, I have complete confidence in bringing my Cadillac back for future service.
