Worst car-buying experience I've ever had. Was told to come back to pick up the Title to the car…read more Came back when told to do so, and no Title. Drove back to Beaverton, OR. Finally got the Title in the mail. When I went to the DMV, the Title was not signed by them, so I had to go back to Vancouver from Beaverton to get them to sign the Title. When I said I wasn't happy about the inconvenience, I was I was full of bulls** and to leave. So, I would say my experience has shown they are incompetent and rude. I would not buy from there again. I have been really inconvenienced and treated poorly. Never once did I receive an apology.

Met a "dealer", likely a curbstoner, named Raymond "Victor" Cianci of Aman Corp. on Craigslist. I…read morelearned later that he is a former employee of J&M Auto Sales. His long time friend, Jeremy, who works here was there the day that Ray brought me to sign papers for the car he had posted on Craigslist. Ray was up front that he did not work for this dealership and that he was friends with the business. Ray sold me a 2004 Honda Odyssey. I knew it had transmission issues almost immediately after taking it on sustained highway speeds, and had it looked at by Bill's on highway 99, who confirmed the issues, as well as the Honda dealership in Hillsboro. Ray signed on the bill of sale that he would buy back the vehicle within 7 days, but he ignored and avoided my phone calls for the entire week, also telling me that he was out of town even as he was meeting with other people I knew to try to sell them more presumably broken cars. To his credit, Jeremy was a very friendly guy when I showed up. He took me to the back room and offered me a "dab", which is essentially hash oil. He then offered to sell me some weed that he told me his family is growing in California, and gave me some for free, which I was grateful for. After I couldn't get a hold of Ray for a week, I was stuck in Vancouver and stranded with a van with a bad transmission and an ignition lock that stopped turning after a week. I went to ask Jeremy to buy the van back and get the money from his friend Ray. Jeremy informed me that he was not legally responsible to do anything. I told him he may be correct, but there was definitely an ethical responsibility because he was letting an unlicensed dealer sell cars from his lot. He told me he was sure that Ray was indeed licensed, but could not provide me with the dealer number and was even baffled that Ray had not signed his name anywhere on the papers. Jeremy offered to replace the transmission for $500 or trade in the Honda for a different car on the lot. I asked him to put himself in my shoes. I was trying to get out of town and I could not risk another bum car. I needed the money because at that point I had resolved to cut my losses and rent a car to head south, which I ended up doing. These two were friends and the entire thing was very shady. I asked him to just buy the van back and deal with Ray, but he refused. He told me that he would definitely give me a statement if I decided to pursue legal action against Ray, called him up on the phone, and when he informed Ray I was there on the lot, Ray hung up the phone. Jeremy let me know he would call ray that night and call me back the same night. It's been over a week and I have not heard from either of them. I let Jeremy know that I would be leaving a review on the business and he told me that was fine, just don't lie. So, here it is. Unless you are mechanically inclined, a mechanic, or know someone mechanically inclined to help you look for a vehicle, I would stay away from this place. It is bad news in my experience. However, I did give them one extra star because the weed Jeremy was selling out of the lot was actually pretty decent. If you are looking for a car and dealers who won't give you any problems, I cannot recommend this lot. If you are looking for decent weed at a fair price and you don't want to be ID'd, go talk to Jeremy. But the prices at the Herbery are definitely better.

We purchased a 2013 Ford Explorer from them, that the following day, had the "check engine" light on. I would think twice about trusting this establishment. From the beginning, they scheduled us and another group at the same time to look at the car we were interested in. At the time, we figured it was an honest mistake; however, it could have been purposely done to pressure us into a quick decision. After a test drive, my wife decided she wanted to buy it. They made the process simple and quick. After the "check engine" light turned on, we reached out to David, who comforted us and told us we could return the car and have it looked at. After dropping off the car, we received an uncomfortable phone call from Moe, where he told us they could fix it, but it would cost $1,800. But they would cover half of the cost (still almost $1,000 on top of what we just paid!). After rejecting his offer, he was dismissive of our concerns and continued to pressure us to pay for the repairs. He treated me like I was over-reacting and being unreasonable for not wanting to give them more money (ridiculous!). While this issue could be completely a coincidence, it is entirely possible that Vancouver Auto Center sold us this car knowing it had this issue, deleted the fault code, falsely advertised its condition, rushed the sale of the car, then started pushing the repair, all in an effort to get more money out of us. If I were you, I would not trust nor believe their claims and avoid buying cars from them.
