For the tacos, I loved that they kept the ingredients separate, packed hot sauces, and allowed for different types of meats. I thought an ice cold beer ought to do it. So I found myself right at the bar asking what the specials were. It happened to be $4 any local draft. I opted for the "Ale Niño" made right here in San Antonio! The bartender informed me that this draft would soon be hard to come by. Something to do with licensing or manufacturing I can't quite remember. In any matter, it was SOUR but just what the doctor ordered! The bar has a bit of a spacey theme? Black lights, neon signs. Overall clean, spacious and unassuming. Great place to relax. I was also told that the kitchen was closed on Wednesdays. Which means I'll be coming back... And hopefully adding a star!

Fast and efficient, if you ask me. Soon after, my boyfriend joined me and so did our friends. Everyone at the table enjoyed their margaritas. The water though- top notch! We scarfed down the chips which were salty, crispy delights. The green salsa was delicious... I might have finished it. The enchiladas verdes were really tasty. Actually, I don't know if they were so tasty or I was that hungry. But they were gone in no time. The chicken was nicely cooked, the sauce was creamy and tangy and the green salsa I added to it over the top. The restaurant has tvs that were broadcasting an award show with festive music. It was not too loud that we couldn't enjoy the conversation. The staff checked on us a few times, but basically left us alone. I'll say that the tortillas looked amazing so I can't wait to try the breakfast tacos!

BUT after sitting for 15 minutes and finally giving up on service and heading to the bar ( where the one person serving asked if we had already been helped - WHO do you think helped us ?? It's not that hard and the waiter we did end up with told us that various restaurants close each night depending on occupancy?! Grabbed a drink; and an appetizer from the sports bar and called it a night ! However Fernando who was one of the waiters was a stand out - checked in with customers and was as very attentive ! He's a stellar employee that the JW should be proud of !

The staff is extremely friendly and makes you feel welcome enough to have a drink at your leisure while kicking back in the comfortable chairs. With live music in the background, this was the perfect place to recap our fun day and watch other guests come and go. Smiles were abundant and laughter was in the air. Even though we visited in May, the Texas heat did not discourage us from sitting in front of the fire place and decompress. We did manage to have dinner here one night and the sushi was delicious to start. Can I just tell you how pleasantly surprised I was to find this gem in what felt like a random location. It is very convenient if you are driving down Wetmore Road, but there aren't a whole lot of shops around that would draw people there on a regular basis. It is in a strip mall area next to the Circle K. You can't miss it because it looks like a tiki type bar and grill you might see at Port A or South Padre. We went on a weekday, during lunch, so it wasn't crowded at that time. It was bar service only since most of the staff don't come in until around dinner time. However, the woman behind the bar was so friendly. I felt right at home. The food came out quicker than expected. Both my son and I had very large portions of ceviche and as an appetizer, we got jalapeños stuffed with brisket and cream cheese, wrapped in bacon. They were so so good. I could've eaten 12 of them all by myself. There were only four, unfortunately. I cannot recommend their food more. It was fantastic. We enjoyed sitting outside in the beach hut area, which also had an outdoor bar hut and a small stage for acoustic entertainment on the weekends . The vibe was so chill, we're definitely coming back. The food was a little pricier than expected, but for a rare lunch out, it seemed ok to splurge, and honestly, it was worth it.
