Fords Pizza is on my regular rotation of restaurants for work lunches. They have a great selection of "slices" each one flavorful and well made. I typically don't eat my crusts but here I do! Not only is the pizza delicious the staff here are incredibly friendly. You don't get good customer service everywhere nowadays but at Fords Pizza it's service with a smile. I have been going to Fords Pizza Restaurant for Lunch and Dinner and I really like the food. The service is usually good but what happened to me and my Bereavement Group was unreal. There were eight of us who came for dinner. The waitress was new, and she had a hard time understanding what we wanted to eat. She didn't come and check to see if we needed anything else, and when we needed our check, we had to tell her. We told her that we wanted separate checks, but she gave us one check, and then she had to do all ones check separate. Then when we got the check, an extra charge was added for waitress service on each check. I was told by Adrian that after six people in your party a fee is added to the bill which goes towards the waitress. There is no sign posted in the restaurant to alert customers of this. My friends who came with me will not come back after being charged an extra fee for waitress service. Many of them did not give tips or did not give anything at all. If we knew that we would get charged an extra fee for waitress service, we would have ordered the food our self and paid our own bill for what we ordered. I believe that if a sign is not posted to alert customers or to tell customers the policy Fords Pizza will end up losing money because the customers who used to come to eat there will not come back. read more

Went to this pizza place for the first time on 8/11/21... Ordered 4 Sicilian slices to go. The girl working at the counter was very customer friendly and answered a few questions that I had. Hopefully I can get delivery service to South Amboy,NJ right off of Victory Plaza the first exit on 9/35 south.... The Pizza was ok, nothing special. I do not understand why restaurants are allowed to charge Mandatory Tips when a tip is supposed to be for good service. I know many people in the restaurant business and having a mandatory tip is hurting the poeple who go out of there way to give good service. we were charged a tip of 18% and the girl at the counter was very rude told us it is required. I was not impressed, actually I was very disappointed. I've had pizza from them many times and have enjoyed it. This time my kids ordered for Mother's Day. I was so looking forward to having my dinner. I ordered lasagna with meat. Well, when I opened it, it was a bunch of lasagna noodles swimming in a watered down sauce. The meat was plopped under the middle of the mound of noodles and there was some mozzarella cheese plopped in top of that. It was accompanied by a tiny piece of scrunched up bread. So I recently moved to fords and on moving day needed to order my movers pizza,randomly found this place and I'm so glad I did. While ordering my food I explained to the woman taking my order I'm at a softball game and am literally moving today, she was so nice and very patient as I cheered my daughters team on. My pizza was delicious absolutely perfect, the staff including the delivery driver where all so kind and so patient. I ordered delivery for lunch for my husband and I and the delivery was over 45 minutes late - this was an issue because our lunch break was only an hour long. I called the restaurant and didn't get an apology or a solution to the issue. The pizza arrived hot and it was pretty good! We also got a 2 liter and I believe it was only around $15 with the combo deal on their website. If you order through the SLICE app you get money off as well. They included a plastic bag full of plastic cutlery, straws, napkins, paper plates, plastic cups, etc. I understand what they are going for but this is totally unnecessary and extremely wasteful - please stop doing this! read more

I've ordered here several times but since Covid the service has gone down. Multiple times I've ordered Chicken franchise however each time the chicken had no flavor. They offer gluten free however when you order it, you do not receive gluten free. I called to complain and nothing is done to rectify the situation. They claim to tend to people allergies however since Covid they seem to be so concerned with orders they lack customer service. Having allergies this is a huge problem for me. Ok so updating my review and increasing to 5 stars. Hands down this is the best neighborhood slice and lasagna cook! We usually order couple slices and lasagna and it is amazing. Taste is great for the lasagna and they have it piping hot and ready and delivered in 30 mins. The staff is super nice, from the chef to the girl at the front. We have completely stopped ordering from any where else, but them for pizza. Great for slice or pies or main dishes. Worst delivery experience ever....twice their delivery guy couldn't find our townhouse which has the full street address clearly printed on our garage easily seen from the street yet both times the pizza was over an hour late from their posted delivery time. The first time we drove to Sciortinos pizzeria to get a pie while they're driver called us seeking directions....apparently he's the only person unaware of GPS. This night he at least made it to our street but drove past me waiting outside in the rain waving for him to stop. Tonight I called for a refund only to be told to call Slice, our ordering app, to obtain a refund from them. On top of having great food Fords Pizza has a great staff. I placed an order through the Slice app and ordered my usual, grilled buffalo chicken salad, but I forgot to 86 the tomatoes. Even tho I messed up the wonderful woman who works there saw my faux pas and called to confirm that I didn't want tomatoes. I always feel welcomed when I walk in, they have the perfect person working the counter, she always knows my name when I pick up my orders.(I wish I knew her name) lol. This place is the worst. They are rude and over charged my credit card. When I called to tell them, the owner/manager told me that I was in the wrong because their menu wasn't updated and THEIR employees told me the price. So over $3 that they wouldn't refund, I told them I would post what happened. The owner was rude, told me DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO. So I did, I posted everywhere I could and will continue. All they had to do was apologize and refund my damn $3 now it's not about the money but the principal. They called me back and told me since I posted, they won't refund the overcharge. This is the WORST excuse for a pizza place I have ever experienced. The two times I stopped in for regular slices, they were dry and overly burned. After another two years, I decided to order a sicilian and a gyro, to be delivered. You know, give another chance kind of deal. The girl on the phone said the sicilian was at least 1" thick. What I got was 1/2" or less, over-cooked, and I wouldn't even feed it to a dog. The gyro was very small, made up by HUGE, overly salted fries as a side. When I called to complain, the manager, who sounded to be about all of 18, hung up on me twice. Finally the owner answered and didn't offer a refund but a free regular pie. I grew up in Jersey City, in the shadow of NYC. So I know good/bad pizza. If I want to make an enemy of someone, I now know where to send him/her. Called to ordered food an hour before their closing time. And the girl took my order over the phone and said it will be half hour and hour later no food, called number and they closed. Poor service didn't deliver food before closing. Wouldn't order food here again. Sub is terrible, don't know how to make calzones and not true itallian style their subs is nothing special to brag about. I only ordered here because its the closest one called to the house. Stop here after riding on the middlesex greenway. I had 1 slice of pepperoni and 1 slice of sausage plus a garlic brad with cheese. I was happy with it, I has to take half the of the garlic cheese bread because it was kinda of big (very happy with that). So yeah, stop here if you happen to be on the trail.
