Good was good and way too expensive. Service was terrible! 1 hour yo get a lunch that didn't need to be cooked...

I went here to try the pork belly burnt ends as many bbq places around here don't offer burnt ends. I had to take advantage of the Monday special I ended up getting the meal with jalapeño cream corn and baked beans. The burnt ends had a sweet/smoky caramelized flavor and paired well with there house bbq sauce. Jalapeño cream corn was interesting..to me it had like a queso dip flavor it wasn't spicy but I liked it and the beans were pretty good too. Service was fast I got it to-go and was in & out within 10 minutes read more

All right folks, I have eaten at some of the greatest barbecue restaurants in the state of Texas and I've eaten a lot of really good brisket. I would've never imagined eating such good brisket in Atlanta, George until I ate at Ford's BBQ. I forgot to even take photos tonight, but I highly recommend this place for their amazing sliced brisket And their cheddar jalapeño sausage. This food hit the spot. The sliced brisket was ridiculously tender and full of flavor and I find myself craving it after having left the restaurant 30 minutes ago. The smoked jalapeño sausage was the juiciest smoked sausage I've ever had. The pockets of cheddar cheese Popped with every bite and the flavor was epic. You gotta try these guys out if you are in the area. The Jalapeño cheddar sausage was so delicious that I convinced them to sell me 4 cold links so I can take them home to Utah with me and cook them up this weekend. I also wanna put a plug in for the amazing staff. They were friendly as ever and kept the cold Coke zeros coming. read more

Been running past this place weekly for a while and finally have it a try. I was impressed for sure. It was crowded on Saturday night but seemed to have a nice draft selection and array of eating. Sports on TV and friendly staff. Ordered the sausage plate with okra and creamed corn. The corn was spicy but so good! Def getting that again. BBQ sauce could use a kick so I added some myself. Sausage was tender and flavorful. Okra was crispy but fresh. I recommend calling ahead for takeout. I'll be back soon! read more

Ambience and service on point!! Got the pit master platter with jalapeño cream corn, okra, baked beans, and collards. Favorite meat was the sausage but all were pretty good. However, wings were lacking on dry rub. Favorite side was okra. Best thing on the menu was the banana pudding!!!!! Sadly all the sauces were terrible!!!! That's only reason they not 5 stars. read more

I very much enjoyed the food and found the service to be impeccable. I ordered the Birria Ramen...the Birria was fire ...so delicious and flavorful. Ramen was perfect and complemented with juicy, tender chunks of brisket. I had a side of fried okra that was actually some of the best fried okra...I've ever had. My nephew ordered the brisket platter which comes with white bread and your choice of two sides. He had fries and mac n cheese. The fries were crinkled and looked delicious...must have been because he did not offer me one of his fries lol. The mac n cheese was just ok. But you know what the cool part was? The waitress knew he did not like the mac n cheese and was kind enough to have him order a different side to go. You know what he ordered? Yep, another order of fries ...and nope I still did not get a fry lol. He did give me some of his brisket to try. It was delicious. I will say that although this is a bbq restaurant, the menu will read more Tex Mex than southern style which is alright by me. There are still so many things I want to try off the menu like the plantains, nachos, and Birria tacos to name a few. I'm looking forward to my next visit. Ooohhh one more thing...the lemonade was delicious and they even serve kool-aid. I know....say what?! Y'all I'm usually good about taking photos but actually left my phone in the car. I promise to do better next time;). read more

The service was good. The food was outstanding. The nachos were too much for one person to eat. The cheesesteak was a great dish to share. It was hard to pick something off the menu- everything looked delicious. read more

That was freakin' fantastic. And frankly, you had me at the words "Texas Barbecue." The smells inside warmed me in seductive ways. And when I heard the waitress recommend the brisket, my heart grew three sizes. My friend and I sat outside, undaunted by some chilly winds, and thoroughly enjoyed some chopped brisket and some mac & queso. I had the sandwich, which you can get on a Vidalia onion bun or a plain bun. It comes with a bag of chips, but you can upgrade that to the side of your choice for $1. I got some mac. My friend got the brisket plate. She got some green beans in addition to her mac. The brisket was perfect. The right coloration and the right flavor all by itself. Didn't need the sauce, but the house sauce (sweet) was quite good. The mac is everything good comfort food should be. If I get it right, they're using some nice Cavatappi tubes drenched in some good cheesiness. Totally hit the spot. I think Ford's will remain a welcome addition to the Tucker landscape for a while. And I'll look forward to seeing you there. read more

Yumm! Yumm! Yumm! As Tucker natives We waited way too long to visit! They have Mexican style inspired corn! We sat outside on a beautiful Saturday plenty of seating options covered also and TVs! Grace was our server she was so honest about the menu gave some great recommendations to us non pork eaters! I know bbq and no pork don't go together lol. The max n cheese is delicious so many unique options! read more

This is my 3rd review of this place over the last 3 years. Strange that all my reviews disappear after a year... I come from near the center of the BBQ Universe (Lockhart, TX). There is simply no better bbq on the planet than Lockhart. As such, I think I have an idea of what good TX bbq should taste like and this place has hit it almost perfectly every time I have tried them. I am partial to brisket and Ford is moist and tender. They don't have a spicy sausage like most do and their regular sausage seemed a little too store bought, but still tasty. I have yet to get the ribs because I never have room for them, but this time I splurged and their ribs were really tasty. Not fall off the bone, but close enough that I still ate every bite. I can see a small place like this getting ohad the food plated in a to go box, but by large groups, which seems to be the issue with most of the 1 and 2 start ratings, but I have yet to disappointed with their product. I got the beans and okra for sides this time and they were also better than avg. I got there very late and got the food in a to go box, but still had time to eat while they closed up. read more

Great pulled pork, brisket, sausage! I love their sides although wish they had more traditional baked beans!

Dropped in to try some Barbecue and I enjoyed every bit of it. The dry rub smoked wings were on the hard dry side, but the ribs were awesome and tender with the best flavor. The choices of barbecue sauce are very good. The one I fell in love with was Alabama White, the house bbq sauce is very good too. The sides are great too. There's a very nice patio seating area too. read more

My husband was wanting some bbq and the place we normally visit wasn't open so I searched on google for another place near by. This was our first time visiting Ford's BBQ. Although we ordered our food for take out... the service was awesome. The ladies behind the bar was so hospitable and gave suggestions. The collard greens were superb and the slice turkey was soooo tender. My husband had the beef brisket and sausage. He says that the sausage was ok but the beef brisket more than made up for that. We will definitely be back!! read more

Food was fantastic (when we received it) that's the issue. No issues with the food .... Texas loaded potatoes were great, pulled pork great and the smoked wings cooked perfectly. The issue here is the service. There is a disconnect between the kitchen and the servers. Once we received our mains, we didn't receive our sides until 21 minutes later! No, I'm not kidding. We constantly keep asking... How does an order of fries and side of cowboy beans take 19 minutes AFTER you receive your main course? They arrived while paying for check. Do better guys.... Food is good.... read more

Love me some good bbq. Stopped in at Ford's in Tucker. Atmosphere was inviting. I would suggest updated seating (ripped and springs were shot) although it was cool to sit a car seat. The pulled pork tasted great without sauce and with. The meat was tender with no fat. The okra I had was not seasoned. I ate it anyway because I love fried okra. Loved the pickles and onion relish, nice touch. Oh and the brunswick stew was really good. read more

I live in the no-man's land of North DeKalb, where Chamblee, Doraville, and Tucker all kind of mix together. There's a plethora of amazing dining options, especially considering what's available on Buford Highway alone. I love eating great tacos, Korean BBQ, sushi, and ramen all available in spades near me, but there's something about Ford's BBQ that brings me in on a regular basis, usually every few months I'm there. I can't say that for any other restaurant I frequent. The BBQ is pretty good. My favorites are the brisket, sausage, and turkey. Although, if you get there later in the evening, Ford's is sometimes out of certain items. But that's never been a problem for me. The non-BBQ items are fantastic, even the vegetarian options. Tonight, I had the Smoked Beet Cubano sandwich, and it was filling and very tasty. I also highly suggest the Sausage Torta. The Birria Tacos are always great too. While I do like Southern style BBQ, but I'm really digging the Tex-Mex spin on BBQ. And it pairs nicely with cold beer, Ranch Water, or a Margarita. Also, the Bloody Mary is fantastic! Definitely pay attention to Ford's Facebook or Instagram pages for daily specials. read more

I will never go back to a Fords business. Decent food but always short staffed and there is no process for customers to be on a waiting list from the host stand. We watched someone get seated ahead of us because lack of attention. After 20 minutes we finally got seated and it took 30 minutes (not exaggerating) for someone to drop off waters that we didn't order. They didn't follow up with taking our order or give us any information on what the situation was with our server. ** Communicate to your customers if you're in the service industry. ** After I went to the host and received little to no information about what's going on, we left. read more

Ordered take out at this old town style restaurant. Tye staff was so nice. The sweet tea I was given by complimentary kindness was sooo good (Arnold Palmer style) So the meats were tender, ribs were tasty with a snap. Sides were generic but I am not saying there bad either. We tried Ford's on an weekend afternoon and may not go back. The brisket was disappointingly dry as well as the wings, but tasty. (I steamed some leftover brisket in the microwave the next day and it was much better.) The portions are very large, too much so really. The staff was friendly but served a sweet tea with minimal ice (see pic). We stuck our heads into the smoke house in the back and the nice pit master showed us what was cooking. Not sure how he works in all of that smoke! read more

Finally great barbecue in the area. We go there at least once a week. Highly recommend/my favorites- smokehouse nachos, Yardbird sandwich and the Texas cheesesteak. Everyone is great staff is friendly, local owner - shout out to my favorite bartender Maddie and server MacKenna (I think I spelled both those right). Good seating inside, great bar "with a view" to the patio which is our favorite...love the patio. Beer is always cold. Sopapillas for dessert - go home happy! Finally...for those who "complain" that they run out of items. DUH! that is a good thing as it means we are getting fresh BBQ cooked daily! Beware of BBQ restaurants that DON'T run out!!! read more

The barbecued platter consisted of very dry and overcooked meat selection. The server, Mackenna, overcharged us on several items and we had to get the bill corrected. She also added gratuity without asking. When asked she said she added 18% but when calculated it was actually 22% . Extremely disappointing experience . read more

This place is AMAZING. I went with my family and I ordered a Turkey sandwich and it was GREAT. Another family member ordered the turkey and the wings and they loved it. We stopped coming here because ^^, but tried it again recently. The last 2 times we've come, they haven't been out of menu items - big progress. Unfortunately, the service still needs work. Wait time for food: much better Server accuracy & knowledge: Same, not great Server friendliness: great But, same issue with the employee that made me boycott. She's bartending today and I'm just one brief exchange, she talked over me, was condescending, and dismissive all at the same time. I really don't understand why she's in the service industry-- I don't think she likes it. And it shows. Ford's, please try something different. read more

Hubby likes BBQ but me not so much. Therefore, Turkey was a good choice. I had the best turkey I ever ate. It was moist and a generous portion. Mac & cheese was like your mama made. Brunswick stew was hot and had the tiniest flavor kick. I'm embarrassed to say I can't remember our server's name. She had a nice personality & was very attentive! Decorated in a rustic auto theme with inside, outside and bar seating. Ford's knocked it out of the park. Support them in downtown Tucker and give the Turkey a try. You won't be disappointed. An update to my initial review.... Fords has great food and bloody marrys but the service can often be unbearably slow. We brought my family from out of town and had to wait 30 mins for drinks and over an hour for our food. They have also been out of half there menu multiple times. We want to go back because the atmosphere is great and food is very good but it's a toss up. Don't go there if you are in a hurry or super hungry... otherwise enjoy. read more

First went to Ford's about 2 years ago, excited to have a bbq spot in Tucker. It was probably the worst bbq I've ever had. Both myself and my friend agreed, she even perfectly described it as gentrified bbq. I had a platter to try things and it was mostly just flat out bad. I thought the bbq sauce was something special they gave me and they told me it was the standard sauce... it tasted like cocktail sauce. Called myself trying to give them another chance today bc I really wanted some wings. And smoked wings can't be messed up, right? Well I wouldn't know bc they are priced entirely too high. I'm sorry but $12 for 6 wingettes with no side is insane. Then to add a small fry that would've been another $5. $17 plus tax and tip for six wingettes and fries is highway robbery. So I left. I just want good bbq in Tucker . read more

Unfortately this BBQ is terrible. They asked when I ordered if I wanted my brisket "fatty" or "lean". I've never been asked that question at a BBQ joint before. My wife and I ordered the pitmasters platter to go (they are full open for dine -in). First of all, if you do decide to order ask they split it up. I assumed they would put meats in different boxes but they did not. Beef on top of pork on top of turkey. Just careless. Impressions: the brisket, and turkey were flavorless. And one piece of brisket sliced was completely fat. I had the pulled pork, it was worse than if I did it myself. The ribs were pathetic. They did not fall off the bone, they were not smoked, they were small and a waste of time. The WORST meat is the sausage. Its a johnsonville jalapeño and cheddar sausage. WTF! The ABSOLUTE worst part is their trash sides. We ordered mac & queso. That speaks for itself. I should have been skeptical but there are only so many options. Then there is the green beans-awesome if you like flavorless-straight-out-the-can green beans. The vinegar slaw is confusing as hell. What is this? Its like got cumin, cilantro, and mexican seasonings. Stay away from it The only redeeming part of the meal was the potato salad which was well seasoned, but watery as hell (see pic). Overall, another disappointment in downtown Tucker. Keep serving the tasteless customers main st draws. I'l keep going to Decatur where they care to try. Sucks as a Tucker resident, but hey... read more
