I am always on the lookout for great BBQ! Happened to have driven by this place, took note, and returned a couple of months later to check it out. First, the music is incredibly loud inside the well-kept establishment. It's definitely not a place to sit and dine--not that there's really room for that. I think there were two high-top tables. Surprisingly, someone WAS dining in-house. I am sure his hearing went down a couple of notches. Why do restaurateurs think that patrons want their ears blasted? It's not fine dining, we get that, but dang! The music was SO loud that I had trouble focusing on the menu. I rattled off my order and took a seat. The song that was playing in the moment had explicit, inappropriate language for children, and for me! Something about eating of another kind, well let's not go there. Took my food home and was pleased that my food still radiated heat! I don't live anywhere close, so I was impressed! The chicken was very good! Nearly perfectly seasoned. Thankfully, I got sauce on the side because the sauce was total yuck. It had so much hickory flavor that it left a bitter taste on the tongue, like a rancid taste. The collard greens lacked flavor, but were edible. I hate meat mixed in with veggies, even if it is turkey. The turkey did nothing for the greens but get in my way. When will we move from practices in the 1800s and stop using meat to "season" veggies? We're in the 21st century now. We have access to actual seasonings now! The macaroni and cheese tasted old school and that was fine with me. It was a tub full of mush, but it tasted so good! Not a macaroni noodle to be found in all that mush, but hey, I'd reorder it! The peach cobbler... Let me first say that I am a Georgia Peach through and through. If I see peach cobbler on the menu, I'm gonna get it. Trust and believe that! When I was taking the containers out of the bag, I paused and asked "What is this?" It didn't look a thing like ANY kind of cobbler I'd ever seen. Brace yourselves... it looked like a tub of raw chicken skin floating on top of a dark liquid! How in the French onion soup is THAT peach cobbler? I tilted the container and saw some peaches peeking out. Seriously? Peach cobbler? Somebody ought to be brought up on charges for failure to make REAL peach cobbler! The peaches and the syrup were actually pretty tasty. The chicken skin-looking crust tasted like phyllo dough. Chile, we need flour, water, shortening, and an oven, STAT! Please, DON'T call THAT peach cobbler! Call it "hot peach mess" or "wanna be cobbler" or whatever! Will return for the chicken and macaroni. Might try the potato salad next time, too. Just know if YOU go, take ear plugs, leave the children in the car, and make your own peach cobbler! read more

Well, let me start off with something good to say they were very nice and welcoming. The place is clean and small. The food taste mediocre at best. I ended up getting the brisket meal with two sides. I requested baked beans and mac & cheese. My receipt says mac & cheese and bean medley. I got greens and bean medley. I also got ribs cause my daughter wanted some rib tips. Scrumptious beef BBQ with a thick sauce and the perfect outside. The beef 'chili' is not really a chili but rather seems to be the leftover au ju, beef scraps, and fat left in the pan after making a BBQ beef brisket. I won't reorder this side option in the future. Go for the cole slaw. read more

Stopped here one night after picking up one of my kids and ordered some food. Morrell came out and greeted us. This is a very nice family-owned business. Driving past this place daily with the window down, you can't help but smell the incredible smoky BBQ flavor in the air. I didn't know what to order, so they let me try a few samples. Their BBQ is amazing, but I really loved their mac n cheese (has a nice spice to it), collard greens (something I didn't always like, but dang, their's is good, and they add smoked turkey to it), and I tried their chili with some BBQ in it. That said, everything else is just as creative and flavorful... From the Smoked Peach Cobbler, Smoked Corn Bread, Smoked Mac and Cheese, and the Brisket Chili, all are spectacular. I stopped in on my way home from shopping and what a treat! Friendly owners, warm and welcoming and convenient take out. As a first time customer I was given large samples of pulled pork, brisket, smoked mac & cheese (phenomenal!) and brisket chili. All of them were over the top delicious! I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, side of cole slaw and their peach cobbler that they also cook in their smoker. I had to cut the pulled pork sandwich in half, the generous portion was more than I could finish in one meal. The cole claw was perfectly seasoned, crisp and not too sweet. This is a real family owned and operated business and I will definitely be back and will tell my friends and neighbors about. read more

I wish that I had something good to say about their barbecue pork, unfortunately, it was dry and stringy a very acrid taste from the wood, the barbecue sauce that was on top wasn't very tasty as well. All in all very disappointing as I was really looking forward to having a good local barbecue place, note to owner if you add a little bit of apple juice to the already cut and pulled pork, it will help keep it moist and add a little bit of flavor. That's the best dang barbecue I've ever had the barbecue brisket sandwich was phenomenal even gave me a free barbecue sauce and the baked beans or something else. We've been wanting to try this spot for a while and all I can say is that I wish I had stopped by sooner. I ordered a mall variety of items, 1/2 slab of Ribs, 1/2 LB of Brisket, 1/2 LB of Sausage, cole slaw, greens and mac and cheese. The beans and pulled pork were pretty good. The brisket was incredibly dry and sauced to hide how dry it was. The rib tips were chewy. The potato salad was good if you like a pickled/mustard forward potato salad. The mac and cheese was grainy. The corn bread was really terrible. To the point, we thought it was spoiled. I will say the service was really wonderful. When we called about the cornbread smelling spoiled, they went above and beyond to try and make it right. read more
