    Crunchy avocado with salmon

Worth repeat visits. Came twice while staying in the area. Fresh ingredients. Nice healthy options. They can run out of items in the evening but will offer to substitute. Comfortable seating. Friendly service. Smiling and happy to help. Wish I lived nearby.

    Avocado Crunch

Gluten free and delightful! I got the avocado crunch and it was fresh and zesty. Yum! It's a good portion and everything is balanced

Visited Forage kitchen (state street location) for the first time for a quick Sunday lunch. The venue was spacious and clean. Had been to the location at Hilldale before, but this was my first time trying their grain bowls. After getting the Cashew bowl with roasted chicken, I have to say I am a fan of what forage kitchen is doing! The bowl was ~$15 ($11 for the cashew + $3.50 for the chicken) which was comparable to price with crisp & green and sweet green. First impression was that the bowl was filled to the brim! I dined in and the portion size was huge, worth it in my opinion for the price (not sure if they load up to-gos the same). The salad had nice seasoning, was filled with fresh greens, and overall satisfied my healthy craving.

Featured Green Mole Bowl with Chicken

Come hungry and leave fully satisfied with a healthy and delicious meal. The concept is like chipotle and sweet green. The Green Mole with chicken was fresh and bursting with flavor. It's a big portion but you don't feel heavy afterwards or you can save some for later. The place is clean and has ample seating across the right wall, and upper front corner of the entrance where you get nice sunlight. We were quickly greeted and helped as soon as we got to the counter. The staff was able to answer questions about what ingredients are what can can't be substituted etc. If they were closer they would take all my lunch money!

    Thai Bowl

It's a cold windy day. You're starving. You take your Ugg-clad feet and shuffle down State Street in your cropped puffy jacket and Lululemon flare pants. Where are you headed? Forage Kitchen! There's no better place for a quick healthy meal than Forage for a cold day. No hate on the college 'srat fit! But you will probably have to wait with a horde of young college students while in line. But it's worth it cuz no doubt you'll get two meals out of a bowl here! I always get the Thai Bowl with roasted tempeh, which is around 15-16 dollars. The soup is always so creamy and rich. There's some nice acidity in the veg and rice and the tempeh rounds it out with a bit of sweetness. Forage is also killing the game with their local produce. Honestly if you can beat the horde of students headed here during rush meal hours. It's so dang worth it. The line goes quickly too!

Wow. This place is DELICIOUS! So much flavor, even down to the sourdough bread and guacamole. Clean place and friendly service too? I'm in. I will make sure to return when I'm here for work!

    Batatas

It's been years since I last went to Forage Kitchen and I'm glad I came back! I got the Batatas salad bowl at their downtown location. I prefer the Hilldale location, as it is larger and more sunlit, but this location was still very welcoming and clean. The employees were kind and accommodating to my requests to customize the bowl a little. They definitely loaded up my bowl, but there was disparity as another customer asked me what I ordered because he was disappointed with how small his bowl was. The free sourdough is a nice touch. I do wish there were croutons or some crunch to top off my salad but the sourdough definitely helped replace that. The salad seemed fresh and was tasty. I was extremely full after (in a good way). I added chicken to my salad, but next time I probably won't be doing that as it is not necessary! I will definitely be ordering salads from here again.

Food was kind of pricey but it tasted amazing. There is outdoor seating but they close up at 8 pm just an FYI in case anyone wanted to eat outside

It was definitely a party in my mouth and my soul was happy! It was so good I immediately thought, if I had the money I'd open up a C&G in my city! I was so pleased. I came here with a small group and we went in to order at staggered times since we sat outside with some of our pups. It wasn't crazy busy or crowded, but it took forever to get our food. At one point we were worried something happened and felt like maybe we should go check on the people ordering inside. I ordered the Wild Child bowl, and while it was good, the flavoring was overall just kinda bland -- not bad, just bland. I still happily ate it all, but there are other options in the area with similar food concepts and I might go there instead given the option. Still, if in the area, I would definitely order from here again.

We had reservations, so we were seated right away which was a plus. Also, I will say I don't think any of the issues we had were because of our waitress. She was super friendly and quick enough to take our orders on a day when there restaurant seemed full enough, but manageable. We got our drink orders in and our food at the same time to speed up the process for getting little kids food, and the waitress even took note of that. We also ordered an appetizer to help during the wait. It took a while for the drinks to come out, but they were all rather tasty. I think my apple cider mocktail was the best and refreshing since it was getting hot in the restaurant with the sun beating in. Our food however took forever and the kids meals did not come out any earlier than everyone else. One person in our group also initially didn't get his meal, which the waitress apologized and said there was a mixup in the kitchen. That's fine, it happens, but then the staff running meals tried to bring him the wrong order 3 times. The rest of us were all finished eating by the time he finally got his food. Overall, the food was fine. I got the eggs benedict which was a little underdone on the eggs for me as the whites were too runny for me. The kids chicken nuggets were pretty tasty with a flaky breading. I heard decent reviews of the breakfast burger, but the thing that was the best to us was the breakfast sandwich. It was quite messy, but the messiness of the sauce was worth it. We also got an appetizer of the cinnamon roll. I feel like it's a little mislabeled though, as it was more like a morning bun with some frosting/glaze over the top. Tasted pretty good and helped keep kids entertained for a while. Overall, the food was fine, but the experience wasn't great. With the multiple mixups in orders and getting a little green house effect going with the sun shining in, there wsnt a great feeling when leaving. Again, I don't think it was our waitresses fault, so not sure what was going on in the kitchen.
