Great spot to grab coffee with a friend or even knock out some work. They have a great breakfast and lunch menu, but don't forget about their cookies too! Make sure to get their early or else they'll run out of popular cookie flavors. Starry Night Acai - Lots of great flavors. I love the white chocolate moon. Oreo Pancakes - Decadent and delicious! The oreo crumbs add a great crunch as well. Steak and Egg Breakfast Sandwich - Loaded and delicious! The steak was well cooked. Spicy Vodka Rigatoni - Could've been spicier but it was still tasty. It's also a massive portion too! Cookies - They're large and so good. I recommend trying multiple flavors. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available too. read more

The iced oat milk latte I got was very good, I appreciated the non-dairy milk options there. I was disappointed in the iced tea options though, they only had a blackberry. Not even a regular iced black tea. We both got cookies. After my 3rd choice (they were out of the first 2) then we ended up with 1 Oreo and 1 funfetti. The Oreo was very good, creamed filling. The funfetti one was a little over cooked and nothing special. read more

This place keeps surprising me. In a good way. I was craving their coffee for a lazy Sunday morning, but figured I'd branch out from my normal Vodka Penne food order from. Safe and tasty choice. So I ordered the birria sandwich. And while I was planning on eating it later, it came with a dipping sauce that just made me think it's probably best right now. Thick, crispy toast, with some pan-fried in butter goodness. Thick layer of brisket beef, accented with cheese and pickled onion. Avocado oozing out the side. And dip it in the "mexican spice dipping sauce?" So good. Messy, but so good. I. Eating in the back patio for a reason :) read more

I'm not really into "chains," but I guess 10 locations doesn't necessarily make it one. I was a little hesitant and walked in with fairly low expectations, but I left impressed with their food and drink. I don't have any dietary restrictions, but for those of you who do, they have options that are gluten free, vegan, vegetarian and dairy free.  They offer both breakfast and lunch, but my favorite item there was their Manhasset breakfast sandwich. It was $12.95 and stuffed with spinach, tomato, halloumi cheese, scrambled eggs, roasted peppers, basil + paprika mayo, on a semolina roll. The other dishes were a little on the pricier side, but they were really tasty as well. Highly recommend the Korean Chicken bao buns, and the chimichurri steak sandwich was great as well! Will be back soon to try their banana pudding pancakes and pastries. read more

HORRIBLE ROAST BEANS. Dont buy a bag here. The beans are old and dont have an expire date. I asked the staff a few technical questions about the beans (looking for a natural fermented bean) and they had no clue what I as talking about! Huhh? I thought you are the roasters? Took a bag home and it was aweful. Tried to contact customer service and they didnt have the courtesy to apologize. I mean Starbucks is crap, but at least they have some customer service. Avoid and definitely dont buy your beans here... read more

Overpriced does not begin to explain. The giant sign on the wall shows prices, but the ACTUAL higher prices are listed on a small menu. I ordered a decaf latte. The big sign said it would be 5, the small sign said it would be 6, they charged me 9. Because although a large costs $6, they automatically charge you an extra $2 for the extra espresso to make it a large. Why wouldn't that be included in the price of a large???!!! How is that even legal? The latte was awful, undrinkable. They also charged $8 for a bottle of kombucha which anywhere else is $6 at the very most. So many other coffee shops within a 1 min walk. read more

Got to check out For Five Coffee roasters. Now this is more than just a coffee shop, they have a variety of pastries and entrees for you to choose from like okonomiyaki, overnight oats and banana pudding pancakes. Definitely a great place for brunch. I opted for a chocolate croissant & carrot cake to go with my iced latte. The coffee was great and the carrot cake was sweet and moist. Prices here are on the higher side. They have multiple locations in the DMV area. This location in particular has a patio in the front with spaced out seating. Love the vibes and there many selection on food. read more

Grabbed breakfast at ForFive, and tried their Starry Night Açaí Bowl that I've been seeing all over IG. Service was quick and effortless and I had no issues finding a spot to work during a weekday afternoon. Aesthetics is this cafe's strong suit! From the interior to their food, everything looked modern, clean and fun. The bowl I got had bananas, star fruit, dragon fruit, bee pollen, golden berry and coconut chips. Was super cute, and they definitely pay attention to detail (especially the little star sprinkles!). However, for $11, I found it to be quite pricy. The flavors were pretty unique, and I really liked the coconut chips as they gave little bursts of sweetness. The star fruit were a bit sour and I wasn't a huge fan of the bee pollen (had an interesting flavor and consistency). Also ordered a cold brew, which was pretty good! I could see myself grabbing a bite with some friends on the weekend or maybe working here (plenty of seating and outlets!). Probably would skip out of the açaí bowl, but interested to try their pastries and coffee. read more

Very delicious restaurant, except all of the items pictured on Yelp are not in the store. They did not have the blue smoothie bowl, acai bowl, churro pancakes, okonomoyaki, or the Asian bao's. I thought I was in the wrong establishment when I looked at the menu to order. I had a yogurt bowl that was very good! read more

Loved the vibe at this place! Nice place to get some coffee and get work done. Ordering was quick and easy and the food was brought to us. Loved my iced latte and croissant. The Manhasset was also amazing! The banana pudding pancakes are 3 pancakes topped with banana pudding and ice cream. It was a bit too much on the sweet side for me but other than that loved everything else! read more

Great coffee. Hard to find seating and several people doing conference calls in public.

A large latte is $7 + tax, ridiculous. I think the owners think this is one of their NYC locations. What's worse is they have a huge menu board behind the counter with prices which shows a large latte is $5.25. They have the actual prices on a small stand on the counter that I'd bet most people never see. Either change the big menu board to the correct prices or cover it up. The prices for everything here are way out of whack though compared to other cafes in the area. read more

I was expecting to really like this place and had a really disappointing experience! The first time I came in here we had eaten around the corner and just wanted to check it out and grab a coffee. The staff was beyond nice and treated us to a free cookie, and my Gotham mocha was delicious. We made a point of coming back to eat full meals and get the full experience. This is one of those places that is a little too chic for it's own good. I went in knowing and expecting small food portions for high prices, and the food itself and presentation was lovely, so I am not upset about that. But two really negative things happened during our return experience. First, they did not even attempt to socially distance their tables. My partner and I decided on a table far away from anyone else and between two empty tables. Almost immediately some completely massless asshole comes in and sits down right at the table next to us and we immediately grab our stuff and move across the restaurant to these leather chairs with super low tables. Dude doesn't even blink before opportunistically putting some of his stuff on what had been our table. Obviously the restaurant can't help when its patrons are entitled jerks, but they created the situation in the first place by not spacing out their tables appropriately and having staff that made no effort to enforce social distancing. The table we ended up at was too low to eat comfortably and my partner particularly had to struggle because his bao were served - tho beautifully - in a steamer container that was bursting and didn't leave any room for utensil use. The second issue is with the "cappuccino" I received. The coffee here is good and I knew walking in that it would be overpriced. When I paid $4.25 for a small cappuccino I expected an actual cappuccino. What I got was a latte. Absolutely no foam. I turned to the barista and and asked if it was a cappuccino. He said yes, and I said but there's no foam. He said yes there is it's right there. I am not crazy. There was absolutely no foam in this drink. There was a flat blob of opaque white floating on the surface from the milk pour, but absolutely no foam whatsoever. I said to him a cappuccino should have thick foam. He said he can do that for me but that's not how they normally make a cappuccino here. At that point I didn't feel like arguing so I took my latte and sat down. I get caps all the time at many coffee shops and sit down restaurants and have NEVER had one served to me without foam, but Just to make sure before complaining here I did research on whether foam is a necessary component of a cappuccino and it 100% is. A cap is 1/3 espresso, 1/3 milk and 1/3 thick foam. You can have your cappuccino wet or dry, which changed those ratios, but foam is always always a component. So either they have a weird pretentious idea about how cappuccinos work or this guy messed up and lied to save face. Don't know, don't care. My salmon "pastrami" was a really nice dish but it also wasn't pastrami (and I would probably have ordered something else had I not been mislead into thinking it would have pastrami seasoning on it like other salmon pastrami I have had). So who knows. Will maybe give this place another shot for to-go or post pandemic, because honestly one botched coffee overall when the rest of my food and drinks have been great shouldn't be a dealbreaker. But the total lack of social distancing (during a dramatic peak in cases) really freaked me out and made the whole thing a terrible experience. In retrospect we should have just left but we had already ordered by the time we realized how bad it was. read more

Decided to try a local coffee place across from 5 Guys. Coffee was good but the $7 blueberry muffins were dry and bland. Urgh !

The vibe: This coffee shop is a hidden gem for a beautiful brunch or lunch! I've come here before as I've passed by and got a coffee, but had no clue they had such amazing food. Don't sleep on it! Seriously. The coffee is amazing yah... BUT THE FOOD PEOPLE! Gorgeous and delicious. The service: Service was great! Asked for recommendations for the pastries and the staff worker let us know all her favs and all the customer favs. Loved the input. Also got to talk to the chef by chance for a short bit and she seemed amazing plus her work is incredible (just look at the pics). Her name slips my mind at the moment unfortunately. The food: AMAZING. I can't say enough good things about everything i tried.. which is a lot of the breakfast/bunch menu. Also tried the lemon cake and coconut cake, and a birthday cake cookie. I mean all the things. Best bite: Koulouri + Poached Eggs - Sesame bread, Greek yogurt, perfectly poached eggs, cherry tomatoes, chive oil, and miso green sauce @alixtakesabite recommendation rating: 9.5/10. Only thing i didn't love was the plastic cutlery while dining over such beautiful food... it just didn't do it justice. But that's just me being picky! read more

Depending on what you are looking for will better determine is For Five is for you! It is very much stuck in the middle of being a coffee shop and being a café/brunch spot. They have an extravagant food menu, but small coffee shop tables (maybe that is a COVID thing, I am not sure). My food was delicious, but expensive and cold which was disappointing. They have an app which is neat but the girl at the counter said they don't scan it or do points or anything. Due to the price and the unique and large menu I would suggest it as a brunch spot with a group but with the small tables, order at the counter, food brought to the counter style, I think an actual restaurant fits that vibe better. Again, it's very in the middle. May be best as a 1-1 lunch date. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the food I ordered from for Five Coffee Roasters. I had just come off of a late night and needed a quick breakfast pick me up before I started the day. I saw the Manhasset sandwich that looked pretty safe so I took a risk and ordered. The sandwich also came with egg, halloumi, spinach and roasted peppers. I was scarfing the sandwich down and was so satisfied with the sandwich. I split it with my boyfriend because I knew I couldnt eat it all, but it was made perfectly and delivered great. We recently moved to an apartment near the Arlington, VA For Five location, and my husband stopped in to get a blueberry muffin and almond croissant to go for our breakfast. When I pulled the muffin out of the bag, I was shocked at the large size but equally as shocked at the color. The majority of the blueberry muffin was black and the exposed blueberries were charred. I tried to cut off all the burned parts but there wasn't much left afterward, and the remaining muffin was so dry that it was inedible because it was so overdone. My husband ordered an almond croissant. It barely tasted like almond except for the few slices on top of the croissant. It was almost almond-free. He said he would not order this item again. So it seems there is a quality control issue with baked goods at the Arlington, VA location. I am also surprised that an employee would even put a burned muffin in a bag for a to-go customer versus throw it in the trash. We would have taken the items back to the restaurant but had an extremely busy work day and could not afford to take the time. read more

If a worked out older foreign male is working - he has no time to explain the menu. Not sure if it's his supplements or the amount of caffeine he has already consumed during the day - but he gives the soup Nazi from Seinfeld a run for his money. We've been here a number of times now, and aside from the first time around when they just opened...I feel like it's getting worse instead of better. The food selection started good, and I'm not usually a fan of overly sweet things...but they've been going too far on the opposite end of the scale. We had some undercooked spinach thing because I believe the other option was something made from Brussels sprouts. I'm not really into these options at 7am to have with my coffee. Speed, they're not overly fast. This could have something to do with the virus and maybe they're understaffed because of that...but there was only one person making coffee/working the counter before the lock-down as well. The coffee...the taste is fine. But we've made it to strike three where it's not even close to being hot. It's a latte, heat the milk up. Because it's been bath-tub hot. We've tried a bunch because they have been open, but it's a really nice spot...just not great execution. read more

This is a hidden gem. The staff here is amazing. Aside from the staff being wonderful the food is great

Just discovered this place after 4 years living in Arlington! Finally found some decent coffee in the area. I work as a coffee shop manager and my standarts are very high. So I am impressed by friendly service at this place, barista was able to properly steam milk and she even poured some amazing latte art. Texture of their latte microfoam was very velvety and creamy and not overly foamy - exactly how it supposed to be. You just got a new regular customer, guys. Thanks! read more

Good coffee and great cookies! I come here anytime I stay nearby. Prices while high are matched by quality and service.

Best coffee in the area in a really nice space. The food and service was wonderful, too.

I have heard a lot of this place so I went to try it out. I got a large drip coffee with milk and then the barista told me that the scones were freshly made so I also got a chocolate scone. The scone was just not worth the price, it was super dry and covered in sugar. The coffee was OK but not worth the hype and beats the chains but that is about it. If I was in the area and I wanted coffee I would go here but I would not go out of the way to return. read more

Ordered breakfast here for the first time the other day. I got the avodaise eggs Benedict. I was pretty disappointed, especially given the price. The bacon was limp and mostly just fat (tasted like eating pure pork fat), and wasn't served on a brioche bun like in the description. Instead, it was served on a *really* thick cut sourdough type of bread. The bread itself was so thick and hard I had to cut it with a steak knife (clarification - bread wasn't stale by any means, just not a soft style bread whatsoever). Would've been fine if it wasn't such a thick piece. Overall, wouldn't order hot food here again, especially given the price vs quality. read more

Literally a walk and a skip away from many of the places central in the city, For Five Coffee Roasters is there for you! Get that daily dose here because, in my opinion, they serve some great life bringing liquid! Located right at the heart of the Courthouse area in Arlington, this really is a great spot to go adventuring around in the day and the night. When I was staying at one of the hotels in the area, the shop, along with many other shops were close enough I could enjoy a city stroll in the morning and get in touch with the people of good ol' Virginia. Parking in the city is always a funny dilemma, so you can either bite the bullet and pay a couple bucks or go during the times when parking meters aren't enforced. Since the coast is just so pretty though, walking, biking, and scootering is a viable option as well. Choose wisely and you'll be perfectly fine! Walking in one cold morning, I was greeted with quiet sounds of lofi and coffee being brewed at the counter to facilitate other customers who had come in for a fresh cup. You'll notice that this place is very tall and has plenty of seating. It can feel a little squishy at times, probably because of the middle column that holds condiments and other merch you can purchase. Further back behind that you'll see two sets of rope ladders that are adorned with beans specially roasted by them primarily. Give them a check out when you do stop by! I ordered a hot caramel latte with oat milk as an alternative and smooth as a baby's butt is how I would describe that. Worth each and every sip, I have gone back several times simply to indulge more in what they have to offer. Let's also remember to mention that they do offer a cute breakfast selection so if you're into it, I'd recommend trying their Avodaise Eggs Benny on a PHAT brioche bun. Big bites and big flavors all around! Great for studying, good for 1-on-1's and offered at reasonable prices, I'm glad that ForFive is here to stay amidst this pandemic we find ourselves in. Support small businesses and help keep this East coast brand alive as they look out for you by making sure they also are wearing masks and tending to your caffeine addictions. I'm giving ForFive a huge HIGH FIVE! Knockin' it out of the park guys, rockin'! read more

Came here because of ticktock :) someone was raving about the cookies so I had to go give them a try. Their cookies are stuffed with all different things based on the flavor and soft baked. I tried a red velvet, fruity pebble and s'mores snd the s'mores was the best. I also ordered a ham and cheese croissant but noticed when I got to the car, i had accidentally been given a chocolate croissant. This is a very polarizing experience for me. The place is super nice, with great vibes. There are some awesome baked breads and desserts for you to eat. More Importantly, the coffee here also seems amazing. I came here to grab lunch, and chose to Ask for my money back for one reason, the entire staff were not wearing masks in the back room. I saw the barista and cashier walk to the back room and take their masks off the second that door swung open. I do understand the need to take masks off, but I also feel that those who are preparing my food should be covered when hovering over my food. I give it 3 stars because the coffee seems awesome and I do plan to come back and try it. But I don't intend on ordering food because right now, I just don't want to take a risk.
