Bad glasses. In Oct. 2023 I got a pair of progressive transition glasses that in less than a year were so covered in micro scratches that they looked fogged over. I wanted to get new glasses, but my eyeglass benefit from Kaiser is only good every two years. They agreed that to have glasses become this damaged so quickly is a sub par performance, and to see if For Eyes would make an adjustment. The response I got at the Gwinnett store was that I must have mishandled the glasses, and an offer to sell me another pair. I responded that I've worn glasses my whole life, including fifty years in blue collar jobs, only ever cleaned them with Zeiss lens cleaner and never had glasses deteriorate so quickly. If I have to pay for new glasses I'll go back to Warby Parker whose glasses have worked well for me. read more

Very incompetent staff that don't care. I picked up a new pair of glasses and it was obvious that the prescription was flawed. I told the woman and she acted as if I was crazy or stupid without checking to see if there was a problem. When I got home I did see that the prescription on the glasses was not the same as the one my doctor gave me. Now I have to go back to Morrow for them to redo the glasses altogether. I seriously don't know what happened to this location? I have had problems with For Eyes La Vista road in the past. But, this location has always been fabulous. So, new job - new insurance - Lincoln (Fort Wayne, Indiana). I work for one of the top agencies in the city of Atlanta, which is also a part of Cooper Holdings. OF COURSE, we have optical. And, I called ahead. Which I do because I am an organized person. Yes. "WE TAKE YOUR INSURANCE." Span into time. I go to this location, which I had to move my appointment back on a busy Saturday. The Ophthalmologist (yes I can spell it people) answered the phone (is he a Doctor please?) and told me - yes, I can see you later. This is AFTER I prequalified my insurance, again with the front desk (whatever that means) and screamed across town for my appointment? This man at the desk asks me, looking at my work out clothing with disdain, "DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?" I told him, "I called the office. I pre-qualified this appointment." WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR EYES?! DONE. If the Ophthalmologist (was he a DOCTOR?) treats me like this? RUN SCREAMING. DON'T CALL. DON'T BOOK AN APPOINTMENT. Going to head back to work tomorrow to schedule a *real* Doctor's appointment because MY EYES MATTER. And, I HAVE insurance. And, YOU COULD NOT PAY ME TO GO TO ANOTHER FOR EYES again. EVER. I got everything here. Glasses, sunglasses, contacts, color contacts...everybody was nice and friendly. Choosing frames drives me crazy. Feels so limited. There was one girl who really actually consulted and picked out my next pair of glasses based on my face. She picked a surprisingly perfect pair! It's great when you have professional help. :) I love my new glasses! They are open on weekends and the optometrist is available then too. Everyone seemed competent, happy, and comfortable with what they were doing. Good atmosphere. This For Eyes is in a very high-traffic shopping center. Though I go to Thomas Eye Group for my yearly Rx check, I get all of my glasses and lens replacements at this For Eyes location. I love Debra, Kristy, and the entire staff. They help me choose frame color, tints, polarizing, etc. And are GREAT with adjusting - even after it is my fault that I have sat on the frames. The new location (in the same center) is so much brighter and cleaner-feeling. Also, the turnaround time is rarely more than 5 days for lenses - even though they give me a longer window when I order them. Very pleased! read more

I'm a big fan of the For Eyes chain: they have great prices, excellant customer service, competent optometrists, and generally really good selections of frames. This is a typical For Eyes location, conveniently located in a strip mall along with a tasty Mexican restaurant and a Starbucks, just in case it takes you a while to decide (my recent trip was a two-latte trip, thanks to my significant other's dithering on frames). Their optometrist is competent and works fast (although they don't do walk ins, unlike other For Eyes I've been to), his receptionist is sweet and very friendly, and there is a good selection of frames in the showroom with knowledgeable staff. Pro tip: Don't go in the mid to late afternoons, the sun slants in and makes the second story location really hot (I was sweating in a t-shirt in January) and makes it hard to try on glasses/dilate your eyes without getting blinded by sunshine. Mornings, that's the ticket. read more

I had an appointment at 12:20 on a Saturday and was seen without having to wait. Major props to this For Eyes location for that. The purpose of my visit was to get my eyes examined and get new contact lenses. The staff and doctor were both friendly and efficient. Eva at the front desk was especially friendly. I was a new patient and was out of there in less than an hour and that includes the 20 minutes that it took waiting for my eyes to dilate. The store is fairly small and as a result I don't think the selection of frames was all that big. However, as I stated before, the purpose of my visit was not shopping for new frames. The store is clean and sanitary...pretty important when dealing with eyes in my opinion. I cannot comment on the prices because my vision insurance covered everything. I recommend this For Eyes if you're looking to get a quick eye exam and re-up on your contact lenses. read more

Yesterday I had the BEST experience at For Eyes. My boyfriend broke his glasses Thursday night and needed a replacement ASAP for his GMAT exam this morning. I went to this location with his frame and lenses in need of help. His prescription expired on 4/1/15 so while they could not get him an entirely new set, they were just as determined as I was to find a workable solution to get him through his exam. They studied his custom lenses and sorted through numerous frames to find one that might fit. And they did with a little bit of tweaking! Loraine was able to set us up with a pair of glasses and spent a lot of time (even after they officially closed) to ensure they were adjusted perfectly. When I saw and gave him his glasses he was thrilled and relieved. This team went beyond the expectation and delivered 2nd mile service. They are life savers! read more

Worst experience with eye glasses ever. Terrible customer service. Paid for my eye glasses and waited over two weeks with no phone call saying they are ready. When i called they picked up the phone then put me on hold, after 30 minutes on hold the Automated message on the line went from please hold to our office is closed during office hours. I have used this location and doctor for years and have had the best of service and always felt very confortable going here. My last pair of glasses I got the anti glare and I did not like it and it seemed to mar easily so after 6 months I went back and they said no problem and remade them without the anti glare coating for NO CHARGE which is what I was waiting to hear. I was a little wary to go here. I went to the one on Roswell Road in 2016 and didn't have a good experience w/the optometrist specifically. The rest of the staff at that location was great though. It's very important to me to have a good relationship with the actual doctor. I went to this location today and had my faith restored! I explained my concerns to Dr. Thompson and per Anne Marie J.'s post, he was very thorough and concise. I had let him know that since I don't wear my contacts 24 hours/day, that I'd prefer the older, more comfortable Bausch and Lombs. He agreed that I should go with what makes me happy and did not patronize me. The staff there was all SO friendly, fun and helpful. I've veered into bifocal territory and they educated me on the new lenses out there to minimize the amount of wear I would need. They also tried to help me find all of the discounts that I qualified for either through their current promotion or what my insurance preferred vendor plan offered. I do recommend going there when they are having a promotion. Right now was 50% off my entire order! Also to note, not one, but two fellas walked in needing somewhat urgent attention while I was there and they kindly squeezed them in. I HIGHLY recommend this office and will send others here! read more

For Eyes has a huge selection of eye glasses and I recommend talking to James to help you find the perfect fit. I've never had someone more knowledgable, patient, and kind than James. He knew exactly the style I was looking for and helped to find frames for both my husband and I. Additionally, the frames and lenses are VERY affordable. My husband and I both bought designer frames (Tommy Hilfiger & Ray Ban) with the second highest quality lenses and paid around $200 each. Go see Dr. Thompson and James! Customer service sucks. The people who work at the peachtree battle office suck! Firstly you overpay for glasses then they talk you into protection plan, then when you go to get service done. I have to pay a "$50 copay" which has nothing to do with my insurance. I paid close to $800 bucks for two pairs from this place. Unacceptable. read more

I would absolutely NOT recommend coming here. I came in recently to replace my glasses with new lenses reflecting my updated prescription. It took ~3 weeks for my glasses to be shipped to the lab and for the lenses to be changed. Upon receiving my glasses, however, I noticed that the lenses were broken - they made objects appear infinite/distorted. The store then re-did my lenses, taking about another 3 weeks. On the second attempt, the lenses were broken again, and had to be re-shipped and re-done yet again!! This meant I went without glasses for about TWO MONTHS. (Sidenote: the salesperson also did not know how to shape the frames to fit my face; my glasses are still a bit too loose on me.) The store refused to refund me for the twice-damaged lenses, but instead said I could get a complementary new pair...however when I returned to choose a pair, the management told me they would only give me a discount on lenses if I bought new frames (the ongoing store-wide offer anyway). No thanks!! I'm quite disappointed that the store made no real attempt to mollify their horrendous mishap. If you're looking for broken lenses and poor customer service, check out For Eyes. If not, there are many other eyewear stores in Atlanta where you'll be taken better care of! read more

I had such a great experience at For Eyes. My puppy chewed my glasses & I only had the lenses left. The frames my dog chewed are now discontinued, so Emilee Cook took the time to go around to every pair of frames & give me options for which ones fit my lenses. She was so genuine the entire time. When I found a pair I liked, she went out of her way to give me as many discounts as possible. Dr Billy Thopson is very good. The rest need not show up for work, obviously they dont extend themselves in knowledge or service.incl the creepy guy in the showroom, you'll notice him. I have glasses (13yrs), dealt with Amer Best & private dr's. GO PRIVATE B4 YOU GO HERE- or just get scrip. Ordered glasses july 29. Wife's glasses back aug 3. mine, bifocals, nothing yet: staff says there was a "quality issue" at lab...en-kay. Nonmotivated staff except for gettn you to pay. $450 later (bifocals only)..total ($650+) for 2 types of scrips & frames. Still no bifocals. Not much scrip diff btwn my 1yr old glasses and what hasnt shown up yet. Going to get my money back since i have no merchandise. My current one's are sexy and good. & i read a lot. I have lived in the Buckhead for several years. Dr Thompson has been my optometrist for around 15 years. I've seen a good amount of people come and go that work on eyeglass side. None that I would miss. Previously the experience was not worth spreading the word. Recently I came in, my 2nd visit since Debra has been in this location. She is the most kind, professional, knowledge optician that has ever waited on me. My experience was one of a kind. I had a pair of vintage Versace frames, she had lens put in for me, we laughed and talked. When I was leaving she walked me to the door, shook my hand and thanked me for my business. I had to come back because my beautiful frames were broken. She said Ms Sybil you don't worry about anything, we will get you some glasses and in the mean time let me see what I can do about your versace. I purchased a few pair. A week or so later Debra called me, she Ms Sybil I have your Versace ready. I came in to pick them up, and they were perfect. I don't know how she fixed them, but she didn't charge me, and still thanked me for my business. Again she thanked me, I should be thanking her. She called me last week because she wanted to remind me it was time for my exam. I asked if I could talk to someone to give her a review, she said she was the manager at that location. But you could visit yelp and leave a review. Well you could not have chosen a more qualified individual! She is truly a one of a kind, you should feel privileged to have her part of your team. She is the reason I come back. So I did spread the word, I told my friend that had to take her mother to get glasses. She called me after that visit. She said Sybil you couldn't have been more right. You know what a challenge it is getting Mother out with her wheel chair. Debra called and told me mother's glasses are in and asked me to call her when I pulled in the parking lot. I said ok. She said Sybil did you know she said you sit right there, what kind of car are you in? Here she come with a leather tray and tools adjusted her glasses to fit. I left a separate five star review for the optometrist in this store, Dr. Billy Thompson. He is separate from the Optician part, Four Eyes Optical. I've been buying most of my glasses and some contacts there since the store opened several decades ago. I used to buy expensive fashion glasses and sunglasses, but got sick of the prices and frankly, I don't even look good in glasses, so I rarely wear them. The people in the store are good at helping me get decent frames on sale. Because I have a small face, I can often wear frames from the children's lines. They're the same quality but far less expensive. Since they were always for that one day a week I rested from my contacts, it didn't matter to me. Now that I've had LASIK, I only need a very slight distance correction when driving in bright sunlight. Last time I bought two pair, one tinted and one clear for a sale price. They both fell apart. Literally. One star off for selling junk. read more

Yeah the prices are a little lower, but the quality is horrible. I purchased a pair of regular glasses and a pair of sunglasses from For Eyes and had problems with both of them. The right lens kept popping out of the sunglasses. They kept putting it back in and bending the frames to 'adjust' them. After about 5 trips back they said they could glue the lens in, but it might ruin the frames if I needed to update my prescription.... The regular glasses were no better, the hinge screws kept falling out and required repeated trips back. Basically junk at reduced prices. The staff was nice, but you never saw the same person there twice..... wonder why?? read more

I went to For Eyes to find new frames. I walked it and made my way towards the displays. They seemed very understaffed, as there was only one woman working that whole section of the store. She came over to help me with my selection, then when someone else walked in, she went to help him. I'm okay with someone helping multiple people, as I don't need constant assistance in a situation like this, but she didn't even mention what she was doing. She just left. I shrugged it off and continued looking. A few more people came in, and they got very attentive service. Again, I shrugged it off. I found a pair of frames that I liked and wanted to buy, but that one employee was too busy to help me. If she'd been helping someone with a glasses-related thing, I would've been okay with it, but she was discussing real estate with someone. I put the frames down and walked out, expecting her to say "goodbye," at the least, but nope. I was still ignored. The two stars are both because they have a nice selection of frames, and it's a convenient location. Unfortunately, neither of those could make up for the horrible service I received. read more

I didn't buy glasses here, but I'm rating my experiences as a patient of Dr. Thompson. I went in for a routine eye exam as I needed an updated prescription. When I walked in, the woman at the front desk was very friendly, and the woman at the doctor's front desk was very sweet and welcoming. I loved her! Dr. Thompson was very nice and what I appreciated most was that he took the time to explain everything he was doing in the exam (i.e., what each procedure was for). My previous eye doctor basically just went through the exam and would hand me a prescription, but he didn't explain what he was doing like Dr. Thompson. For example, for the first time, I found out that I have (mild) astigmatism! Apparently it's always been written into my prescriptions, but no doctor ever bothered to tell me until Dr. Thompson. I really appreciate the thoroughness of the exam and the friendliness of all the staff. read more

Stay Away. They are completely disorganized. It has been over 5 months and I STILL do not have my glasses. I fell for the two -er deal on the tax free weekend July 30th. I was never contacted when the glasses should have arrived. I called in about 2 weeks after I was told that they would contact me, and coincidentally the first of the two pair arrived just that day, but there was a hold on the other pair. Whatever, I really was not convinced but I was not that concerned and I really don't mind a sales person trying to save face over that kind of mistake. A few weeks later I call in about the second pair that has apparently still never arrived and coincidentally, they arrived that day. I picked them up, wore them a few days and experienced terrible head aches. I took them back to the store and the clerks determined that the lab flipped my prescription. They sent the glasses back to the lab. I never hear anything so I stop in one Saturday in person,several weeks after they should have been sent back to the store with the correct prescription and no one can find any information about any of it. So a few days later, I finally get the first phone call from this store explaining that the glasses are still at the lab, this is all on the lab. They tell me I should get them in 7-10 business days, but again I hear nothing. I call back again. Now it is 5, almost 6 months later and I call and I call in today to ask why I still have not heard anything only to be told that apparently I can no longer have these frames? I explain that is impossible as I have already been issued these frames and all I am waiting on is the store to fix the problem and send them back to me. I asked them to verify my number, which I have given them and they have called me on before, and I find they don't even have my phone number listed correctly. After 5 months of me calling back and forth they don't even know how to call me ?.? Which would explain why I never seem to get a phone call. I fully expect them to call me and explain that for one reason or another I have to come pick about another pair of frames. I am beyond done with this place, I have been patient and tried to be understanding throughout this entire process but this is absolutely the last time I will order glasses at a brick and mortar establishment. I could have used Zenni, paid 200$ less and actually gotten a pair of glasses for my effort. If you insist on brick and mortar, just keep driving to Lenscrafters or something, this place is not worth the frustration. I hate to leave a negative review but I feel I wish I had read a review and just ordered glasses online, so hopefully this will help someone else. Based on all the evidence so far, I anticipate I will finally have the correct glasses sometime around summer 2018, as long as things go well from here forward. read more
