I had a great first time experience at Wright Vision Care. I had to share how positive my first visit was. From the moment I walked through the door, I felt welcomed. The front desk staff were kind, patient, and very professional. The two staff members who assisted me were especially friendly and helpful throughout my visit. They made the check-in process smooth and easy, and their kindness immediately helped me feel comfortable. I am especially thankful for Dr. Wright and her honesty. She took the time to explain everything about my eye health in a clear and caring way. I truly appreciated how straightforward and genuine she was. It made me feel like I was receiving care from someone who truly cares about her patients and their vision. I will also say that I had read a few past reviews before coming, but my experience was the complete opposite of anything negative. The two staff members who helped me were kind and welcoming, and I did not feel any negativity or mean-spirited behavior at all. I hadn't had an eye exam in two years until today, and I am so glad I chose Wright Vision Care. The office was clean, calm, and very professional, and the whole experience put me at ease. It also means a lot to me to support a Black woman-owned optometry practice, and I'm grateful to have found such a caring place for my eye care. Billing errors ignoring my insurance made me pay out of pocket and having to get a refund after I complained about it. Then, the prescription was so strong the glasses gave me a splitting headache in less than an hour of wearing them. I took them back and told her about the headaches and she adjusted the bifocal but it didn't help. A second attempt failed too and she refused any further adjustment. That left me with several hundred invested in non-glare transition progressive glasses that I can't wear. My insurance was used up with Wright Vision so I had to pay out of pocket with a real doctor, an ophthalmologists, to start over. Problem solved! I shall never go to Wright Vision again. read more

I have been a patient/client of Wright Vision Care for nearly twenty years. The need for improved vision outweighed my initial vanity and pride about wearing glasses. Dr. Wright and her staff were very professional, courteous as well as helpful in addressing my issues. They provide sound advice and options on the best solutions for my vision care. The customer service is above great, it is fantastic. Each time I arrive for my annual appointment, I am greeted by name as if I have a personal relationship. I don't know how they do that. We have not seen each other is over a year! This interaction has been persisted from my first visit to the current one. In this day and time, good customer service is a rarity. We've recently moved to the area and I decide on Wright Vision care because of it's proximity to our home. Making an appointment was easy. The office is no frills. The staff in the waiting room is neither pleasant nor unpleasant. No one made eye contact or greeted me upon arrival. Dr. Wright was friendly enough, and she performed my eye exam. She gave me two brands of contacts to try- but gave me no explanation about the pros/cons or similarities/differences between the two brands. When I paid at my initial visit, the woman at the front desk told me she accidentally overcharged me by $20 and she would make a note on my chart to credit that amount towards my contacts. Weird. When I was ready to order contacts, I called and spoke to the contact tech. She said based on my insurance and the brand I selected, a one year supply would cost $20. I mentioned the $20 credit I should have on my chart. She said I was charged correctly the first visit and her colleague must have not calculated things correctly. Strange. I picked up what should have been a year's supply of contacts yesterday. I paid $20. Today I opened the boxes to use my first pair and realized I was given a 6 month supply. I called Wright Vision and spoke to the contact tech. She said "actually your insurance only covers $100 per year." I told her I wasn't sure what that meant but that when I placed my order the woman I spoke with told me it would be $20 for a year supply and because she told me that, a one year supply is what I ordered. She went back and forth telling me the prices of different boxes of contacts and said "actually we are losing out, you were supposed to pay us more than the $20, you owe us more than what you were charged." C'mon guys, get your stuff together. So, I'm keeping my 6 month supply of contacts and I will go somewhere else next year. read more

I made an appointment via ZocDoc. Got a confirmation for my appointment. When I arrived the woman at the desk said the doctor was not in and she "cancelled all her appointments because she is out of town." When I told her that I didn't get a notification that my appointment was canceled she looked me up in the system and said that I was canceled and confirmed that, "other people also said they didn't get notifications that their appointments were canceled via ZocDoc but they were canceled." First, if other people are saying they didn't get notifications that they were canceled shouldn't they figure out a way to remedy their online scheduling system? Second, just because their offices know their appointments are canceled on their end doesn't mean their customers know as outlined in my first argument. If they can't get their appointments in order why should I trust them with my vision care? I had to take time out of my workday to drive over here. Won't be giving them my business. read more

The lack of professionalism and competence at this office is shocking. I've had a nightmare of an experience, but tried to hold off writing this review in hopes that it was just a bad day and the situation would be corrected. I went in for new glasses and contacts in December. My case is tricky as I have astigmatism - so I have to try on several different brands to ensure proper fit. This was expected. First the didn't have the brand I wanted to try. They said no problem and they would order trials, since the holidays were only a week away they said they'd be in by then. They weren't. I traveled for the holidays and when I came back 2 weeks later still not in. Turns out they hadn't even been ordered. It took another 2 months to get the trials in. When I finally got them and decided on an order they ordered the wrong brand. Now they are refusing to re-order and trying to give me more trials. Ugh The treatment I received in the office was not much better. Disinterested at best, confrontational and rude at worst. A horrible experience. I can't believe these people were recommended to me by someone at Emory Healthcare. read more

My experiences here weren't especially great or terrible. I chose this office because they are open on Saturdays, which probably should warrant a star all on it's own. I came in for my appointment and was shuffled through a series of tests by a young woman who never smiled and seemed remarkably unfriendly. Dr. Wright was warm and seemed interested in what I had to tell her regarding some vision issues I've been experiencing. I noticed that the part of the test which involves picking the clearest of two options had much fewer iterations than I've had at other doctors. I am not sure if this compressed version affects the quality of the optics I received, though. There were a lot of options in frames and they were reasonably priced. My prescription arrived in only four days, so I was pleased with that, however, when I went in to pick up the glasses, I was again struck with the diffidence and underwhelming welcome of the office staff. I think with improvements to customer relation skills in the office staff I would gladly rate this business with another star. read more

I really love Wright Vision Care. I have never purchased glasses or contacts, so I can't comment on that aspect of care. But, both my husband and I have been there for eye exams and minor eye irritations. I have always been able to get in quickly for emergencies and Dr. Wright is pleasant and professional. The staff is OK, nothing to write home about. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who wants a friendly "neighborhood" feel that's an alternative to the big box chains. read more

I had a great experience with Dr. Wright and getting new contacts. Parking is easy. The office is modern, clean, and open (unlike some other eye doctors offices I've been to in the area.) Dr. Wright was very professional and personable. My contacts arrived in less than a week--great turnaround for Rigid Gas Permeable lenses. I have very high myopia and my new contacts feel great. I swear I'm seeing 20/15 again. read more

We just had my 14 yos first appointment and first rx. Dr.Wright was great! Very clear about what she was going to be doing and why, what it would feel like, etc. She had a very calming, encouraging, and engaging manner. We liked the person who did the initial exam, too. I moved to the area recently and was looking for a yearly eye exam. I did check older reviews and was concerned about low ratings but the office is very close to me and I decided to take a chance. I really really liked Dr. Wright and her staff. They were very helpful, friendly, and no drama. The prescription Dr. Wright wrote was filled elsewhere because I did not see a specific frame I wanted, and there was no pressure from this office to buy something else. Parking is at the door in a private lot shared by several businesses. I would highly recommend Wright Vision Care if you are looking for a great eye doctor in the Decatur area. read more

Horrible customer service!!! Dee was rude and not very pleasant. Had purchased contacts from here a couple years ago. I should have checked them then, that was my fault. I received one wrong box. The first time I called no one can help me and the person who could left for the day. I called again a this person wasn't able and the lady told me to call back to speak with Dee. I called the next day to speak with Dee she had an attitude right off the bat, yelling and speaking to me like I was crazy for asking just a thing. ( I wanted to exchange the one wrong box for the correct box) Telling me its been too long and I can't exchange the contact box. "your not going to get an exchange from us" (her words) and "I don't even know if you got it from us" (Why would I lie). She proceeded to yelling about how she was NOT going to give me an exchange. I then told her how rude she is being towards me. Then said "I'm being rude? Like I was being rude for asking if I can exchange the box that they wrongfuwly gave me in the first place. First thing: Yes maybe it has been to long. but I would have appreciated in taking the time to explain in a nicely manner that she was unable to exchange the box of contacts. I was very uncomfortable a felt very disrespected. I am an adult and do not deserve to be treat like that. I am / was a customer. I should have been treated with respect! This was a quick stop while out and about with my cousin who is a client of this location. My cousin needed to stop in and pick up his contacts and it was quick and easy. The staff has a great customer relationship with their clients and the location was clean with a relaxed atmosphere. However, one downside is the overwhelmed parking lot that is to small and difficult to get in and out of -that was a headache lol really. read more

Dr. Wright was very professional each time I visited the office. She is very warm, caring and knowledgeable. She told me I would need bifocals soon, but I wasn't hearing that! Less than 6 months later, I was running into her office for another exam, because I could not see!!!! The bifocals were very much needed, especially since I am reading all day. read more

Probably won't ever go back here for the fact that the staff is so unfriendly, rude, lack any sort of good customer service. Dr. Wright is actually nice, but the environment is not. I went for an eye exam, and the tech didn't even show me where I could wash my hands, she didn't really seem like she knew what she was doing either, and when I discussed hiring glasses, the lady was not that helpful. If you don't care about customer service and just want to get your eye exam done, then okay, but if you care about your entire experience then I do not recommend. She needs to hire some new front office staff. read more
