I also spoke with the assistant manager about the service, but I can't say her attitude was much better. What made it even more frustrating was that this happened on a Saturday afternoon, and the store was practically empty. You would think they would want to take the time to help loyal customers. To be fair, I have shopped at McCaulou's many, many times, and this was the first time I had such a negative experience. I told her that they didn't have the size on the shelf I was looking for and she gave me the excuse, "if it's not on the shelf then we don't have it." After 15 minutes of waiting, we noticed she was just going around the store doing other things like chatting with coworkers and opening/closing other boxes of shoes for fun so we realized she was literally just ignoring us. I truly wouldn't have cared if they had them or not, the issue that really bothered me was Sofia didn't communicate effectively and left us waiting there for 15 minutes after she was clearly dilly dallying. All in all, gen z workers here who have no customer service or communication skills. What brought me back to memory lane was Converse high tops and the Stan Smith tennis shoes. Wow! These were my favorite shoes in the 70s, but at that time, everyone had to have them. As for the store, this boutique is really unique in that you wish you could buy one of everything. You can't say that about all shoe stores. They carry very nice shoes for the inventory they have. My wife bought a very nice purse. Typical of her buyer remorse mentality, she didn't like the color of the first one she took home. No problem, the friendly staff accepted the return (made easy since she just bought it a few days earlier and had a receipt) and she returned it for the same purse, but in a different color.
