This place supposedly has the best rasta pasta - so at the request of a couple of friends we went to check it out.... The food was decent but the service was pretty bad (it might not reflect the whole restaurant but it affected my experience) I don't eat milk products - so i didn't order the rasta pasta but i tried it and it seemed decent (nothing special though) but i ordered the stewed goat.. The waiter took our orders and didnt not come back - after about 40 minutes - we had to flag him down because our food didnt come.. Finally about an 20 min later the food starts coming and he tells me they dont have the goat - but i could get chicken.. ???? c'mon man - you should told me this an hour ago when i could make a choice - at this point it was chicken or nothing.. so i got it. Best Rasta Pasta!! Its pretty pricey for a pasta dish but definitely worth the splurge. I've been to Footprints several times and I don't order anything else but the rasta pasta. The grilled shrimp and steak pasta is to die for. The spicy or cajun shrimp rasta pasta was way too spicy. Almost inedible. The drink menu is way to long! Like four pages long. They really need to focus on some key cocktails and just serve that cause by the time you decide what you want to have to drink, your pretty much done with your food. I have also found that certain drinks that they do sell on the menu are pretty watered down. Other times they are really strong. Its a hit or miss with the drinks at Footprints. The energy level is very high which is something I really love! Its like a party in there. But I do have to mention that it is extremely crowded. Sometimes I feel like I'm eating off of other peoples plates and their eating off of mine. Footprints also does take out but the take out window is located right next to the kitchen. So on a busy weekend you'll see several people in their pajamas and head wraps walking through the crowded dining room to pick up there food. They really need to reorganize that take out system because it really ruins the ambiance. I feel like the crowding also also effects the service because the servers are spread very thin. The servers don't smile at all and they look very frustrated. But I often overlook this because the RASTA PASTA is SO GOOD!! My first time here I was led astray and got curry chicken with rice and peas it was ehhhh... alright...especially being that I took a bite of my friends rasta pasta that he said I had to try....It was love a first taste the combination of all the flavors and how tender and soft the noodles were rasta pasta really won me over...It's kind of pricey I MUST SAY, but worth every penny and the portion sizes are excellent. This place is honestly a hit or miss, I've returned a few times (after I said I wouldn't) and I've had a mix of good service, mediocre food, or the opposite. Last night, my boyfriend and I went for an after work date night. We were seated immediately however, there is a spot by the window we tend to frequent. I ordered the Rasta pasta with curry goat and my boyfriend had the Rasta pasta with oxtail. We also ordered a side of the new Ackee and salt fish spring rolls. The rolls were hot and fresh, but contained more fish than ackee. Also a little pricey if you ask me, $7 for 2 pieces that are cut into 4 smaller pieces. The Rasta pasta was soupy and unpleasant. I had to ask for a spoon to scoop the sauce back onto the noodles because they were drab. Ive definitely had better other places. I don't understand how other restaurants are beating this place at THEIR own recipe! That's a shame. My curry goat was good except for the big chunk of ginger that I bit into thinking that it was a piece of goat meat. I will be honest, I love MY RASTA PASTA but I could never sit in footprints to eat. If the music is not too loud to have a conversation it's too crowded and that could be annoying. So I always do my To Go order! My oxtail RASTA Pasta keeps me coming back I just wish it wasn't so hectic in there sometimes! The wait for seating is very long especially on the weekend like any restaurant would but it's worth the Caribbean experience. Decided to try their honey garlic wings and as good as they looked on the plate, the chicken was cold and came out hard as a rock. Tasted like it was a day old and they reheated it and served it.
