Mike and Joe came over and fixed my back up problem. Needless to say i am no longer backed up.

So, I get back from a trip and hear this hissing sound somewhere inside or around my master bathroom. I've literally never called a plumber in the 30 years I've been in LA, so I basically rolled the Google dice. Joe L. shows up ahead of time, knows exactly what the problem is, and shuts off the water. He puts on a jumpsuit and crawls under the house and shows me via flashlight the torrent of water spraying all over the crawl space and tells me it's "about" $365 to replace and weld the pipe. That would be my price just to crawl down that muddy spider fest, much less drag a welder and re-do the pipes. I'm certain, at this point, that the quote did not include muddy spider fest surcharges. When he's done, I'm TOTALLY expecting to hear the "crawl space was tight and yada yada yada...cancel Christmas because here is the real bill...." kind of business. He tells me it will take about 2.5 hours. He finished in an hour or so, covered in mud (but not even cranky), and hands me the invoice for, not "about", but EXACTLY $365. DONE. When someone asks me if I know I good plumber, I'll say, "Call that Joe guy over at Foothill." P.S. He's coming back on Friday to replace the stripped-off shower knob in my favorite shower that's been idle for a year. I mistakenly thought it would be a HUGE deal and require cutting up the shower wall, but Joe has some goofy tool to fix it without demolition and install the new ones he special ordered. Foothill has replaced sewer lines, cleared tree roots and grease clogs, replaced and repaired fixtures and most recently replaced our growling aged water heater with a state of the art 98+% efficient 25 year warranty Noritz tankless water heater with auxiliary pump on the condensate line. The install was particularly elegant to preserve floor space for another use. Competitive bids were prohibitive, up to 50% more expensive. Yes journeymen plumbers are expensive but they provide a service we all periodically require. Mike knows what is required and completes the work so the customer is satisfied. It's Saturday evening at 5pm, If I were to tell you that you need a new water valve for the toilet on a brand new house you just bought a week ago. Feelings of panic, anger, and frustration would set it in for a problem that couldn't be addressed until Monday. Sure there are 24 hour plumbers but that comes with a price tag. Not with foothill plumbing! Michael literally walked me through a problem with Zero plumbing experience and I fixed it myself! In my mid 30s, I have never come across customer service like this. I have used Foothill Plumbing twice, but not again. We had our main sewer line replaced by Foothill Plumbing. Mike runs the business, he is friendly & matched a price of a competing company we were considering. His crew started the work late in the morning & when Mike arrived later he complained about how he should charge more since he matched "such" a low price. He also complained about the competing plumbing company & about his workers & how he had to supervise them. This did not instill confidence. His plumber locks himself out of the garage where he was using an electrical outlet, so he gets his young laborer to break into our house through the kids unlocked bathroom window at the side of the house. I only found out because the young man left his finger prints all over the bathroom ceiling & a trail of dirt ridden shoe prints all the way down the hallway leading to the garage. The main drain got blocked within 1-2 weeks. Mike came back out & fixed the connection that the young laborer had not connected at all....? There was another smaller job that Mike had done for us, where he came over promptly, great, he fixed the leak, great, but in the process cracked the man hole cover to get up in the roof, which he promised to fix, several months went by without him fixing the man hole. I recently had another plumbing company replace the man hole. read more

I am finally back to write another review for the wonderful guys at Foothill Plumbing. I guess, when it rains, it pours, and just after a few months of having Russell & Joe here to replace my toilet innards, my hot water heater decided it was time to go. I had a top of the line, 50 gallon Bradford White since 2001, wow, until it decided to leak. I called the owner, Michael, to get some options, and after we discussed it, I decided on a tankless hot water heater, which I now have outside, freeing up the closet that the hot water heater was in. Michael recommended a Navien, which is top of the line, and I had it installed 3 days later. Because it was a Saturday, he asked his crew who wanted to come and help, and I was shocked to hear that Russell jumped on it, because we had had such a great time when he was here to fix my toilets. I love these guys!!! I am so glad I decided to get the Navien, because it is so quiet, and imagine, an unlimited supply of hot water. This actually has a sensor, that figures out your time schedule, and knows when you need hot water, for a shower or dish washing. The best part was, I was able to get a rebate from the Gas Co., which was supposed to end in December, but has been extended. What more can you ask for. I can't say enough about Foothill Plumbing, and I hope that if you are looking for a plumber in the future, that my review will help in your decision. Our Jacuzzi walk-in bath tub had valve that was weeping and causing corrosion of the valve's trim. The access hatch at the end where the water spout and valves are did not provide enough room to replace the set. Mike's crew had to cut an access hole in the wall of the closet that the tub was next too. This did allow for the replacement of the valves, spout and shower wand. After finishing the plumbing part of the job they put an access hatch assembly in the closet hole. Now any future work will only entail my wife and I to clean out that portion of the closet. When everything was done and they left our closet area was totally cleaned up so well you would never know they had been there. The new Moen roman tub valve set looks great. Great work.
