While browsing in the kids' section, I noticed a woman, who later identified herself as the manager, following me around the store. After I moved to the back, she sat down and continued watching me for about 10 minutes while I shopped. I eventually approached her and asked if she was following or watching me. She said no. I then asked if she was the manager, and she confirmed that she was. When I asked for her name, she refused to provide it and told me I didn't need to know. As a Black college graduate, an English teacher, and a mother of three, I found this experience extremely upsetting and disrespectful. I was treated as if I were doing something wrong when I was simply shopping for my family. No customer should feel singled out or profiled in this way. I completed my purchase and left, but the entire situation left a lasting negative impression. I hope this location takes this seriously and addresses how customers are treated moving forward.

An hour later I had the perfect outfit for the next day as well as a couple of things from clearance, including an absolutely perfect dress I didn't know I needed for a weekend event I had coming up. Very impressed!…read more Employees were welcoming and very cheerful! Helped shop and pointed out great deals! I left with two pair of $10 ugg like boots and even ordered the cutest pair of heels that the manager had on and they were also on sale! They shipped for free to the store and literally came in 2 days! Excellent job ladies! I never go to Payless but I will be happy to return! Store was also very clean and well maintained!
