I had taken it to a reputable local jeweler to have the diamonds secured, believing the work was complete. When I visited Kay's to have a separate bracelet cleaned, I showed Janine my mother's ring. She gently and respectfully pointed out a few areas that had been missed and still needed repair. Her attention to detail and care for such a meaningful piece truly touched me. Without hesitation, she offered to send it to their repair person. When I got the ring back, I was speechless. The difference was night and day--it looked better than I ever imagined possible. The craftsmanship was incredible, and I could feel how much care went into the restoration. If she treats her customers with disrespect, I can only imagine how she treats the employees that work under her. I have spent thousands of dollars at Kay's over the past decade. My first experience did not bode well at this location. I figured I would give them a second chance to improve; boy was I wrong. Throughout the long process from start to finish we had personal help from a single representative. If you have ever undertaken one of these projects you'll know how fantastic it is to have one person you're working with rather then a mini-call center where instructions are lost in a jumble of bureaucracy and a lack of accountability. They treated us with a small-scale project with incredible attention; like we were some huge contract. They even went so far as to liiterally send a person to our school to go over thread colors with us. I don't know of any other place that would do that. This is old school customer service like it should be.
