I am a huge fan of T.J. Maxx. The amazing deals are endless. Unfortunately, there is always that occasional bad apple that spoils everything and that occasional bad apple was working as a cashier at the T.J. Maxx in Auburn, Massachusetts last evening, Tuesday, May 21, 2025. The young man seemed amiable enough, and that's enough for me. We're not at the Bottega Veneta Boutique in Venice, we're in T.J. Maxx, so "basic" customer service skills are perfectly acceptable. Well, it would appear that young cashier man was incapable of accomplishing even the bare minimum of customer service, and he was not one of the adorable high schoolers there saving for college. This was a whole adult. While cashing out, I was looking to explain one very small detail to him, but he was engaged in deep conversation with his very pretty colleague. I completely understand cashier/player-player, but would it be okay if I explain just one small thing to you? LOL! Well, I thought he was listening, but I guess his head was truly deep in his colleague conversation because he promptly did exactly what I politely asked him not to do. Ugh!!! Then I asked that he please not put my shoes in the bag with my clothing and it would appear that this was a trigger for him as his annoyance was both visible and audible, with him telling me that he could refuse me service and suspend my sale, and to that I responded by saying "please do". It would not have taken a Rocket Scientist to see that he had only one interest at that moment and that was the pretty young lady who he continued to converse with, even while telling me that he didn't have to assist me. Are we serious right now! I unknowingly interrupted your "will you go on a date with me" ritual, and I can't be helped, with my purchase being cancelled. Please T.J. Maxx, that Auburn, Massachusetts is one of the very first, surely you can do better. This was an embarrassing display. Here we have, not one, but two employees who would much rather converse amongst themselves than to assist little old ladies (that would be me). Had there been another cashier available, I would have simply shifted over, problem solved, but he was the only cashier open at the time. I am not one to argue with someone about things that are as unimportant as this, but I have to say that I have never in all of my years been told that I would be refused service. The fact that two whole employees chose to continue a conversation amongst themselves rather than place a bookmark in that conversation to wait on a customer is bewildering at best. read more

I stopped in to look at the Christmas selection and I was not disappointed. So many great items to choose from and the prices were incredibly reasonable. A friendly sales associate, Makayla, asked if I needed help and there were several employees around organizing shelves and picking up. I will be coming back again soon! read more

This TJs is SERIOUSLY lacking and needs to be restocked. The Dress department is non-existent (consisting of only 4 racks. 3 are Clearance summer racks) and there are only scraps of clothes. I spoke with an employee and she informed me nothing is missing and "what you see is what you get" I'm happy it's not my normal TJs. However, it's really clean. read more

This is one of the worst places to shop at. not because the workers or products specifically the manger "patty". Almost everytime i come in the store and see her it's always something. Very obnoxious, yelling at employees for some mistakes. mind you most of the workers here are in high school. I watched her show the only african american worker there get shown the blm makeup just her. As well as inappropriately touch workers. i do not know how she is still working her i would have fired her by now. read more

This would be my favorite TJ Maxx/Marshalls in the area. Selection is good, store is usually clean, will give them a pass for prime time shopping days. Checkout, moves pretty well, no matter how bust it is, Nothing has changed from Bethany's review, I can't remember ever being approached by an employee, but to be honest, shopping here it realty doesn't bother me. I love the single line for checkout. I have made returns here over the years and never had a problem with the staff, no rudeness, simply smiles. read more

I was excited that I had a TJ Maxx so close to our new house. It gets alot of the better finds that the Westborough location seems to. However I have never been asked if I needed any help by the staff here - that can be both a positive and negative situation though. When I was in retail we were taught to make eye contact and offer assistance within 30 seconds of a person's entrance -- maybe that is outdated now. Anyhoo, this is where I go for my splurges when another frock from Target just won't do.I also like to see where fashions are going without having to watch Gossip Girl and the Hills myself :) read more

As a Customer Relations Manager, I know that everything begins with the employees and managers of any business entity. This TJ Maxx is the best location I have shopped. Each and everyday (I mean everyday) I shop at least 4 Marshall's and TJ Maxx stores. This is the one choice I would have if they carried all I purchase (unfortunately, they don't). This store is by far the best shopping experience and if you want to find things the other stores might not have, this is the gem of the TJX Corporation. Thank you to the entire staff at Maxx/Auburn. Stopped shopping at this particular TJ Maxx because of one of the cashiers who consistently asks you if you want to open up a credit card, then refuses to take "no" for an answer. I even witnessed her trying to force a girl at the register next to me to sign up. When the girl said she didn't want a new credit card, she had just filed for bankruptcy, the cashier said, "well lets try anyway! You never know!" When she stood her ground, the cashier slammed her purchases into a bag and walked away. This cashier has got to be at least 60, I can't believe she still hasn't learned common etiquette by this point of her life. Once I found myself leaving the store without buying anything simply because she was on as cashier, I realized there is no point in shopping this location anymore. read more

I love TJ Max, and I always will! This location I have had some issues with. I do have the days where I go in just to try on some stuff and I find a whole bunch of things that look great and I go on a mini shopping spree! Other days, I go in looking for something, and they have absolutely nothing that comes close to what I'm looking for! The customer service isn't really there because I never see workers walking around, they're either always in the dressing rooms, or at the registers. read more

I shopped at the T J Maxx store in Auburn, MA and found the greatest deals. The store is clean, very organized and it's always fun to shop there. The employees are friendly, courteous and always willing to help you find what you're looking for. I bought two large bags that are perfect for laundry $26, a canvas storage bin for my dog's toys $10, 2 large dog rope toys $6 (which would be $10 each in a pet store), Ellen Tracy sunglasses $10, Mediterranean sea salt hand & nail cream $3, Clean Air odor absorbing gel $4, less $5 rewards certificate and all of this for just $65. read more

What the hell TJ Maxx. You had signs everywhere saying that ALL Christmas stuff was 50% off so I buy some little christmas lights from the clearance shelf. I get in the car and look at my receipt and you charged me all 8$. I went back in your little sorry looking mess of a store in the freezing cold december weather to ask why I was robbed of my 4$. And the cash register chick says oh sorry these aren't no included in our clearance-YOUR CLEARENCE FOR "ALL CHRISTMAS MOTIFS". I think maybe you should put your cheap little trinkets on the shelves they belong and not lie to your costumers about the price of some shitty lights. If you are looking for a shopping experience in which the salespersons exhibit professionalism and respect for the customers, this is not the place. I'm sure when different people are there on different shifts, the experience would be quite different. However, I am appalled by the behavior of the two workers I encountered last night. I was in line behind two young girls when the woman at the counter refused to accept their card as it was their mother's. I acknowledge that this is normal protocol, however when the younger girl became visibly upset and clearly didn't understand the rule, the saleswoman at the counter did not handle it well at all. She began mocking the girls, saying things like "I'm sorry but you can't use your mommy's card". She called over her manager, and to my surprise the manager was equally unprofessional and rude, and both saleswomen snickered at the young girls. The older girl then said something along the lines of "We're buying these for a funeral, could you just cut us some slack?" Eventually the manager allowed the girls to call their mother and ask for permission to use the card, however as the girls left the store the women continued to snicker at and mock the girls, calling them a "class act". At this point the girls were both crying and angry, and one shouted some obscenities before leaving the scene. While I acknowledge that the girls were wrong about swearing and that it was normal protocol to require the girls to get permission to use the card, I am appalled and offended by the lack of professionalism and utter rudeness of the saleswomen, especially since they were 20+ years their senior and it is after all the job of the salespersons to take the high road when a customer becomes upset. It is safe to say I won't be returning to this particular TJ Maxx. read more

Beware of gift cards offer by TJ Maxx, I had a gift card $553,00 not used , when I went up spend was $-0,00, I went to TJmaxx, explain whole situation to the manager on charge, she ask for the card after more than a hour she came back and told me the card was used to pay my balance on my TJ Maxx credit card, I don't have one , so she went back and almost a hour later came back , telling me the card was used to resume a transaction on a TJ Maxx store on Pennsylvania , I live on worcester, ma, the card never lefty wallet. She ask me for a couple of days to get to the bottom of the situation . Yesterday a week after , with no call from somebody from Tj Maxx , I did call, the manager ask to wait till 5:30 pm ,I wait... 7:30 with no call back, I did call, just to hear the manager tell me nothing they can do, she gave a phone number to call. One thing is a fact: I DIDN'T , used the balance on my card, the card never lefty wallet , I never went to Pennsylvania . Looks like some how they issued 2 cards with same number and amount .
