Update: stopped to purchase some of the beans, but unfortunately what they sell out front isn't espresso beans (they had none for sale). The barista said that it could be ground and made similar. Further inquired if it was the same batch as we were served. It wasn't. Watched about 5 people buy bags of beans that they probably thought were the same great taste they were experiencing in house. Who knew grassfed milk could make such a difference? Apparently, the good folks at Foolish Things did because they have it and it is delicious. We stopped in here this week for a quick pick me up during a work day. The space is gorgeous, with big tables, perfect for getting some serious work done. I also give them points for hosting cool local events here, like the One Million Cups event (that I desperately wanted to come for and had to miss). I didn't poke around enough, but it certainly looked like it could host a lot of people in one nice big space when needed. They were also really friendly and funny, no pretension here. Just good people, making good coffee, in a beautiful space, with a good name. I'll be back, laptop in hand to spend more time here. read more

Really liked the wide open space and inclusion of locally sourced ingredients. Oak Aged Cold Brew Very different flavor, exactly as you would expect by the name. I enjoyed it like someone might enjoy the nuances of a fine wine or scotch. You really feel a volume of the flavors over time. Cappuccino when I try out a new coffee shop I typically go for a pour over and then a cappuccino as a standard way of evaluating. They convinced me to try the cold brew which I don't typically enjoy (glad I tried it) and the cappuccino was very enjoyable. The espresso wasn't over extracted and the foam was good, although not as thick as I tend to like (the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, but this is personal preference). The milk had a very enjoyable natural sweetness that paired with the espresso very well. Customer Service was excellent. The barista was unassuming and polite and offered up suggestions without any hint of pretentiousness (this can be a problem with some shops it seems). Overall, Foolish Things is a very good option in Tulsa. My top 3 as of this review would be 1. Topeca; 2. Foolish Things; and 3. Double Shot but they are all very good and you can't really go wrong. read more

Very good coffee. My espresso was great. Very good mouth feel and super thick Crema. The Chemex coffee was nice and smooth and had good flavor. Cyclist friendly as you save 30% if you show up by bike! Nice selection of baked goods though none of them were gluten-free. The space is nice though noisy. if I ever worked at a coffee shop, it would be this one. what does that mean, you ask? well, 1. the overall interior design is on point. large windows overlooking the downtown cityscape. it has a very minimalistic + industrial vibe. 2. they host concerts for local artists like Norman native Zach Winters (he's the best.. go listen to him). 3. the coffee is phenomenal with local options to boot. 4. the staff is extremely friendly. 5. the staff loves what they do and it is easy + fun to see. they incorporate their passion for the coffee scene into concerts with coffee, dinner parties with coffee, you name it.. and they're dang good at it. you want and need to go here. read more

Not a bad spot to relax and grab a pour over. especially for those of us that work downtown. However, I think it's better suited for folks that want a place to just sit in between classes at TCC. The coffee selection is comprised of mostly Topeca blends, which if you don't know is an incredible local roast produced in Tulsa. I would recommend you just drive another block north to the actual Topeca Coffee shop, and grab a bag as well. [you can't do that here] I totally recommend the ambiance and modern industrial feel of the interior! It's perfect for relaxing and reading and doing homework. If you're seeking to indulge in an amazing coffee experience, not really my first recommendation. But!! To their credit, and mind you this is the main reason I return, the prepare all their coffee via pour overs... So if you're in a rush - might want to give yourself at least 10 minutes, and that's when it's practically. Great staff, very friendly and inviting. I'm currently enjoying a coffee, some Shins, and yelping... The industrial modern restoration hardware feel is just awesome. read more

Foolish things coffee company, the latest addition to the Tulsa coffee scene, as of this post 10-5-12, is an awesome shop in Downtown serving up the bomb diggity sandwhiches and pretty dang good locally roasted Topéca coffee. I'll start off by listing what I like about this place. I love the design and layout of the shop, the huge wooden, what I'm guessing are hand made, tables are massive win in my book. Tons of room to stretch out all your crap that you use to work on homework from neighboring TCC or any of the other local schools are awesome. The house rules, which include using inside voices when you're on the phone, not whining about the lack of individual seating so you have to be social, and the fact that they encourage people to break out of their comfort zone and try a straight up double shot of espresso are a neat addition to this shop. The exposed wood beams in the ceiling and accented wood and brick texture on the walls and counter are also a neat touch. The staff is friendly, the coffee is good, the food is good. This shop is a win in my book. Do yourself a favor and check it out. read more

For Tulsa, an well made almond milk latte. Very smooth, full flavored, much appreciated. Atmosphere is conducive to work, lots of open space, and a good selection of breakfast options. I've been to Foolish Things Coffee Company three times now and I'm just underwhelmed by the coffee. I've gotten a vanilla latte, one of their speciality drinks, Wake and Flake latte (espresso and steamed cornflake milk), and their chai. They all were just OK. I think Foolish Things has the best location in Tulsa. Tons of space, very bright and open. Great place to meet with friends or catch up on some work. Designated parking, which is awesome. Love the environment, it's open and has a great ambience to it. Some coffee shops can feel stuffy so I like the big windows they have here and it's so pretty at night. It's also nice they have communal tables here as well as other numerous seating options to choose from. It's not crazy busy here, so you don't feel overwhelm. A great place to study or meet with people since it's not too quiet or too loud. Even though it's located downtown, they have their own parking lots so that was convenient. Lastly, you get a nice view of downtown. The service I got from the barista was kinda bad, he was cold, but the good coffee made me shrugged it off. I had their oak age cold brew with their house made vanilla syrup. When it comes to cold brew this place gets my vote for best flavored. But my only complaint is that it's over-price, including tip I paid $6 for a tiny glass. Other than that, it's really nice for Tulsa to have a coffee shop like Foolish. read more

The atmosphere is modern and minimalistic, set up perfectly for studying students, meeting with a friend, or just relaxing. I'm giving it the two stars I think it earns because I want to like this place, but I'm continuously let down by each experience. The acidity of the espresso is high and weak and the body is way light and thin, my shots always taste near flat. That being said, if you do order a drink here, I'd recommend some variation of their chai tea; not too spicy or sweet. The baristas aren't rude, they just give off that superiority complex (if you know what I mean). I recall only one positive interaction in all the orders I've had. First of all, I'd like to express how sweet and soo genuine Justin and his wife are. I met them in my first experience here and was offered a sample of the freshly squeezed lemonade flavored with rose water. I absolutely loved it! They have really put a lot of thought and work into every aspect of this unique coffee shop. I enjoyed my first "pour over" coffee as well; you can't go wrong with Topeca coffee beans. Every bit of decor here was handsomely selected and nicely arranged. Customer service was extraordinary, and this was overall a very pleasant experience. I am excited to come back to try their food (and oak aged cold brew?!). This will definitely be one of my new favorite hangouts especially with the fantastic--floor to ceiling--window view of downtown. As for the "rules", they're funny and most are meant to be tongue in cheek...obviously. Find your sense of humor and lighten up people! Pricey. Expensive. Not cheap. Did I mention pricey? Ok, with that out of the way, Foolish Things was an interesting experience. As for the building and atmosphere, it was great! I was really surprised at the amount of parking available, especially with it being in the city. Inside, it was a bit dark, but had a nice, independent coffeehouse feel without being snooty. There seemed to be a large meeting room off to the side. There was plenty of room to sit and work or hang out with friends. Coffeewise, they had a quite a variety of drinks and coffees. They use a variety of roasters and had Onyx Coffee Lab the day we were there. All of their syrups are house made with the exception of honey and the seasonal maple syrup. I ordered a small maple latte. I was a little surprised when my $5 coffee was an 8 oz. I expected at least a 12 oz, but I didn't notice a size anywhere on the menu. A friend got a medium with an extra shot of espresso and his total came to $7. The latte was very smooth and had a delicious maple sweetness without going into Candyland territory. I really enjoyed it, but I wished I would have gotten a bigger size. We didn't try the food, but they did have a variety of pastries that looked delicious. Overall, our coffee was delicious, but I did feel the price was a bit up there. I'm used to paying around $4.50 to $5 for a latte, but not an 8 oz. latte. Foolish things is the best damn coffee shop I've ever been to. Amazing food and some of the finest coffee I've ever had! Everyone should check this place out. Also, I read some people had a problem with the "house rules". The house rules shouldn't be seen as a judgement or being pushy, but rather trying to create an atmosphere that is pro conversation and pro people engaging people (rather than people constantly engaging screens). Pretty view of the humble downtown tulsa, walking distance from me. I will say, about 2 or 3 years ago they made this scone that was like, coconut chocolate almond something-or-other. It was so beautiful and perfect that I have decided I will never taste a scone so wonderful again in my life because I believe they changed bakers? This place is really cool and the staff is really nice, hip, and young. Ive been going there for two years now. Unfortunately the kitchen food is meh and some of the pastries taste like they've been out for a long time. If you order the oatmeal pancakes make sure you do it dinning in and not takeout, it's a hit or miss with them, that way you can send them back if they are burnt and or taste sour. If you are going for drinks and atmosphere, this is definitely the place to go. Just be wary of some food items you are getting. read more
