Given this, I must say that Clarkes is one of the few places in dublin to offer a beautifully slutty fry at a very reasonable price! The staff are super friendly too. Went in for a breakfast for two and got the Clarkes special full Irish breakfast and we were not disappointed. The food was made fresh while we found a table (these are all cleaned regularly so the place looks great). We asked not to have black pudding and instead hash browns and this was done without a bother and the coffee we got with the food was made in a barrister type machine and was frothy and tasty! We were thirsty so I asked to get a bottle of water however the staff were so nice they whipped out a jug of cold water and just gave us two glasses for free insisting that I take it rather than pay! For a full breakfast and coffee it was a mere 7 euro!!! I will be returning to this place without a doubt!!

The queue moves very fast anyway. A lot of staff behind the counter. Their bread is orgasmic. They also make up big rolls for take away. Also amazing and very reasonably priced and HUGE! With really nice homemade coleslaw! If you decide to sit in to eat I would most certainly recommend it. Their breakfasts are one of the best in Dublin. Anything from a Full Irish to poached eggs and yummy brown bread. AMAZEBALLS...... ^_^

I came here for breakfast this morning and my experience left me never wanting to go back. I don't eat huge brekkies so I opted for the small breakfast. Before I could even finish my sentence when I was ordering the girl was walking away from the table and asking if I wanted tea or coffee as she was trying to escape. I asked if I could swap the bacon for black pudding. "Nope. No substitutes. It says so on the menu." as she points at the menu. Fair enough I thought and asked for the menu back. She didn't appear to want to give me the menu back and I was told I could add pudding though. I said fine. Do that. I just wanted black pudding with my breakfast. Again she was walking away as I was trying to talk. It was rushed. It was rude. I asked for my egg poached and for brown bread rather than toast. Breakfast came. Food was standard brekkie fare. Tasty enough. Tea was beyond weak and clearly a result of buying in cheap teabags. It wasn't drinkable. Even after sitting for 10 minutes there was no strength to it. I went to pay and was told it was €7. I queried this as the small breakfast is €5 and extra sausage is €1 so I would presume the pudding was the same. Then I was told it was €1 extra for a poached egg. What? Guess what she did? She pointed at the menu and says IT SAYS SO ON THE MENU!. I said well I didn't see that. The attitude was ridiculous. I handed over my money and got no thank you or any sort of oh sorry about that or whatever . I was blanked and she just started saying hello to someone walking into the shop. Rude. Rude. Rude. She should have told me that it would be extra for a poached egg. Just like she was more than capable of telling me that there was no substitutes. So my issues here. It DOES NOT say on the menu no substitutes. What it says is that substitutes may be extra. Don't point at the menu saying oh it says on the menu. Like I'm sorry did I just sign up to a 12 month contract with Virgin Media and I'm being caught out by the small print? I feel like I was almost required to agree to a terms and conditions before ordering my breakfast. Am I required as a customer to read every single detail on this menu before ordering? Like c'mon! I'm not sure if this person is an owner or a manager or just a regular staff member but if it's the latter then someone needs a word. If it's the former then cop yourself on. As an infrequent customer I felt out of place. She was greeting all the regulars and paying them much more attention. The most pleasant part of the dining experience was the girl who took away my plate. A different girl to the one who served me and took payment. Attitudes need to be rechecked with this individual. It's doubtful I will return.

The menu is simple, kinda Irish and most importantly, very tasty. Actually, it's also great value for the portion sizes. Coffee is refilled as you enjoy your food, staff are very friendly and there are a tonne of interesting and kitsch items on all of the walls. Worth a visit if you're hungry, worth a visit if you're hungover and worth a visit full stop. Do it.

I was wanting to try something authentically Irish. I went with the Black Pudding Sausage Roll. I have never had black pudding before & was going to give it a try. She looked up let her judgement down & speed to the internet for this mysterious beginning. Upon, learning of it origin asked if I had known what the contents were of this darken beast. Knowing the context of the question & that she would inform me of my potential horror I pressed on. The Black Pudding Sausage Roll was finished before the origins could be revealed. They allegedly serve an authentic Irish breakfast, which I had to try. It is all mostly delicious, affordable, and the service is friendly and fast to boot. The plate is arrayed beautifully, with the beans, sausage, rashers, and eggs tasting fresh. The generous amount of toast more than makes up for the heavy meats on the plate. Unfortunately I was not a fan of the pudding, and the hash browns did look a tad greasy, but the tomato and mushroom make up for them. They added good texture and balance to the meal. Sit back and relax, or get to work early and enjoy a nice breakfast here. It is a great way to start your day off right.

The space is rather small, as most coffee shops are, and the prices are a bit up there, but all the coffee they make holds its own against some of the best- no Starbucks quality here- and the food is amazing. Speaking of, if you haven't tried their hotcakes slathered with berries, compote, and some of the most decadent whipped cream you've ever tasted, you haven't lived life to the fullest. It was so sweet, it was almost too much for me to finish, but I won't complain about such a delicious sugar rush this early in the morning. If you're not the "dessert for breakfast" type, they also have your typical avocado toast- don't ask me why that's a thing here, too- eggs, breakfast meats, and of course, porridge. Or, if you're not the breakfast type, they do have some bomb-looking pastries available all day, every day, including vegan options. These guys must also be pretty well-established given that they have merch available for purchase, on top of their perishables. And really, the coffee here is amazeballs. If you come for nothing else, come for that.
