Oh this place really is divine. I wish there were more like it in Dublin! Definitely a little hidden in the backstreets as previous reviewers have said, but so worth the trip! (Make an outing out of it, go there for your lunch and take it up to the Phoenix Park to eat it, then catch an afternoon screening in the Lighthouse Cinema, and grab some dinner in L Mulligan Grocer on Manner St. I am salivating at the thought....mmm....) So what can you find in this purty little spot? It's all about local folks! They stock Irish (and European) cheese and meats, handmade breads, fresh fruit and veges, freshly made sandwiches and pastries, olives, various other pickled schtuff and all the rest of those types of delish bits n bobs you won't find in your local supermarkets. The Lilliput Press is across the way as well if you want a little read. I just wish they had more seating in here, but I guess that may take away some of the tiny shop charm of the place. Maybe in the summer they could stick some tables outside (perhaps they do this already - anyone know?!!) Either way, it's a fanfreakingbrilliantastic place to have a gander in and get noshed up. If you can find this place, well done! It is really hidden away but when you find it you will be filled with a warm feeling, it's a really cool find. It's call Lilliput for two reasons, one as a homage to Lilliput press that is in the area and the other reason because for such a tiny shop, it really squeezes a lot in. It has a range of regular and artisan products. Cheeses from around the country, artisan breads, olives from Morocco, lots of wines and delicious sandwiches to go. A coffee will set you back the princely sum of €1.50. There are seats built into the shop front so you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The girl I was chatting with was a pure doll, she recommended a few local events to me, I really appreciate when people know the community they work in and are welcoming like they are here. read more

Once again I've heard good stories about this venue from my 'Batter friends so there was a fair bit of expectations set there! Visited them during the Stoneybatter Food Festival and left a happy man. As part of the event, we were offered a lovely board of local cheeses and aged Iberian ham - certainly showed off the amazing standard of Irish produce. The wine pairing of a gorgeous Shiraz rounded off the afternoon perfectly. The staff seemed to know most patrons by name, which can only be a good thing! The shop next door features once again local products which are pricier than your standard fare but definitely worth the cost, given the much higher quality. I would be so lucky to have this 5 minutes from my future house! read more

So glad to have this little gem just down the road from me :-D The store is small, but perfectly formed. My first few stops in here were restricted to coffee and an almond croissant, both are delicious by the way. However, of late I have been branching out into other areas of the store. The sandwiches are lovely, really nice mix on ingredients and so different to the bog standard sandwiches you get everywhere else (anybody who uses manchego in a sandwich is good in my book). I have also found it fairly reasonable, I had assumed this type of store would inflate prices. The thing that is so impressive about this store is how they can cram so much into such a tiny space. There is always a wide (yet small) selection of fresh veg. There is a fridge with milk, yogurts and cured meats. A great little selection of olive oils and vinegar, I bought a gorgeous black olive tapenade the other day. There is an awful lot more products than just these, but I seem to panic when I'm in there and just grab as much as I can hold in two arms. I will be coming back here many more times, hopefully with a more of a level head and productive rummage of this treasure trove. read more

Finding Lilliput is like being on a treasure hunt, its hidden away in the back streets of Stoneybatter gladly it was recommend by to me so I found it easily but even if not the search for this place is totally worthy. It has such a charming, welcoming and fascinating atmosphere and you just have to love this place and the cappuccino I had just sold the deal for me and Lilliputs had me twisted around its little finger ... The shop offers a variety of sandwiches, cake ,cheeses and all kind of tasty treats a foodie heart would ask for. Another great thing is, that it is so close to Phoenix Park and just perfect to stop by and get some treats for a yummy Picnic. Local and completely lovely! The staff are always kind and helpful! I often pop in to get coffee there and one of their baked ham, provolone cheese and béchamel sauce toasted sandwiches! They also supply a range of meats, cheeses, fresh bread, sauces and pasta too! Overall, it's a lovely spot where you can always feel welcome and comfortable! Love this spot, it is an organic haven amidst the hustle and bustle of Stoneybatter, a true gem. You can pick up fresh reasonably priced fruit and veg, delicious hummus, dips and olives, plus fresh baked bread every day. They're open late into the evenings til 8pm I think, and open on Sundays between 12 and 4pm. Well worth a visit. It's just up Arbour Hill, off Manor Street in Stoneybatter. read more

I miss my daily fix of their amazing Ariosa coffee!!!! Now that I no longer work in the Museum behind it, I find myself contemplating driving an hour to stoneybatter to get a coffee from here (YES, IT IS THAT GOOD) Sandwiches are the Rolls Royce of food, you just wont get any better a great little find in such a huge city, but be warned, there is normally a queue at peak times. read more

I love this place and stop in several times a week most weeks. They have a great selection for such a small place. At Christmas they manage to fit more in but I don't know how. The problem is when there are people in the place because you physically cannon get into the place. The coffee is exceptional and there is never an issue when I look for soya. The sandwiches are good but they tend to have cheese, which is slightly problematic for me due to my lactose intolerance. Moat importantly they always have a good crisp selection. read more

A wonderful local find a short walk through a real-life neighborhood mere minutes from the Ashling Hotel and Ryan's of Parkgate Street. Fresh fruits and veggies, excellent prepared foods, breads, cheeses, sausages and snacks. A great place to buy the ingredients for a picnic, in your hotel room, on the train to Killarney or on a nearby patch of green. Another plus: excellent coffee! read more

Great little spot in a place you wouldn't really expect. I've enjoyed multiple lattes, americanos, and cappuccinos! They also have an absolutely lovely selection of salads, spreads, and the like. I recommend the basil hummus, the tomato-bean salad, and any of the fresh breads. really, you can't go wrong! My new favourite lunch place. Gorgeous sandwiches, toasties and soup here for under a fiver. The staff are friendly, and you can stock up on groceries. They always have a random selection of veg but everything looks as fresh as can be. You can also get cheese, cured meats, and lots of storeshelf things like lentils, tea, coffee and preserves. This shop has it all...it's on Arbour hill, and it has amazing fresh fruit and veg, and anything from wine to organic tinned tomatoes, fresh bread, a deli counter, homemade soap, muesli, the list goes on... and its prob the smallest shop ive ever been in! I love it. Well worth a look, and when you're there you should pop into the Liliput press across the rd, fab fab book shop where you can buy their books or just chill out on an old sofa and read, and the staff are very helpful and friendly.. read more

A wonderful little local store with some really tasty cheese, meats, freshly made breads etc. There is also a good range of fruit and vegetables although it has to be said that they're not always terribly fresh, never to the point of being out of date but just on the cusp.. I really enjoy the deli sandwiches, chocolate plus great coffee. The only downside has to be the staff, I get the impression that they would rather be sitting at home than working, not just in this store but anywhere or doing anything. Or maybe they're just too cool to provide a reasonable service. Either way, I don't believe they should be working in a store as good as this. That apart, it is a really wonderful store in a lovely area of old Dublin so well worth a visit. read more

I'm late on the bandwagon. Pomegranate, feta, avocado and hummus on the kind of bread that is so perfectly crusty it hurts the roof of your mouth. If that's your kind of thing, rock'n'roll your way here and just try resisting the artisan delectables efficiently displayed in this place with barely room to swing a kitten, never mind a cat. Lilliput Stores' size and location (i.e. small and covert) makes it a top contender for Dublin's list of "hidden gems". Packed with all kinds of edible treasure--olives, bread, paninis, wine, fruit n veg, homemade soup, and various yoghurt-covered things--it could do with being a bit bigger just to accommodate its roaring trade in take-out coffee that just seems to be growing every day. The tiny shop is almost always packed with people, and the friendly, chatty staff are part of what makes Stoneybatter such a special local community. read more

I asked twice if any of the bread was vegan. They did not know and didn't bother to find out. Other than that, some good stuff there.
