The menu was the perfect size, the seating was comfortable outside on a cool July day, and the food was delicious. My matcha was so foamy and earthy and while I had to add some sugar to make it sweet to my liking, I really enjoyed it! Then I got their version of beans on toast and it was very good- fresh, yummy bread, perfectly pickled onions and a runny poached egg. My big complaint was the chorizo. It was impossible to cut and even too gummy to bite into. I ended up not eating it which was so frustrating and disappointing! The bite I was able to get was delicious, but so chewy and way too big because I couldnt cut/bite it properly! My other complaint My other complaint was our water. In their defense, we were there for a packed saturday morning breakfast hour and our table was a bit tucked away, but even the tables right next to us got personable and timely treatment. We waited over 10 minutes to be asked if we even needed water. After we ordered our food and drinks and the drinks came, I asked for sugar. He asked if I wanted brown or white and I said white. 5 minutes later, after witnessing him visit a couple other tables multiple times, I still had no sugar. I ended up getting up and going to the bakery/pay section and when he saw me coming he grabbed the sugar and met me at the door and said "I was just coming to bring this to you." And it was brown sugar! Even though I had asked for white. A simple mistake anyone can make in a stressful time, but contextualized by what I felt to be at the neglected table, I was a bit peeved. Despite this, I actually would recommend this restaurant. My food was delicious, the staff actually seemed great and I think we just caught the brunt of it, and they have some classically Irish breakfasts for tourists and we were among the few tourists so if you're Irish, you likely won't find this annoying and filled with too many tourists. Bummed I didn't try their pastries, so I'm excited to go back to do so!

Weighed down with about 15 delicious squares of varying composition and a few coconut mound cookies for good measure, I left 50 euros lighter with zero regrets (well my one regret is that I'm not eating sweets this month -- womp womp). But everyone else ate them -- they were nearly gone by 5pm! *I should've called ahead and they would've had it ready for me, but I hadn't planned very well. Regardless they accommodated the sweet invasion very well. I always love their coffee too -- made by a very friendly chap with a great passion for making great coffee drinks. It's exactly what a cafe should be - friendly, fast, high quality, cute with nice food to boot. Well done Peacock Green!

Looking over their case of baked treats, I decided to grab one and had a good experience, overall. I walked in on a Tuesday afternoon and perused the case for a moment, figuring out what was what and narrowing down what I wanted. The inside is a good size with a few tables and some stool seating. The inside is very much a café. It took over 10 minutes to get the woman behind the counter to take my order, but she was fairly busy prior to me walking in. She did a nice job answering my questions though and cashed me out quickly. Afterward, I found a stool and had a seat and waited no more than five minutes before she came over with a tray with everything I ordered! I ordered a custard slice and an Americano. The custard slice description is a golden and flaky puff pastry filled with fresh Irish Cream & Custard Sweet Fondant. The custard slice was nicely sized and had plenty of cream in the middle! I wish the top of the pastry wasn't hard though, it made eating it VERY messy and cumbersome, but it did taste good. The Americano paired nicely with my treat. Once I finished my mid-afternoon snack, I was told I could leave my dishes and they'd pick them up - a full-service café! Manning's Bakery is a cute little bakery/café serving up some delicious looking treats. I don't think I'd order the custard slice again - the top of the pastry being that hard made it cumbersome to bite and cut into and made a mess. The workers behind the counter were friendly enough but came off stressed out still. If I ever come back to Dublin and am in the area, I'd be willing to come back and try another one of their pastries or maybe a slice of one of their cakes!

This place had a line outside the store to pick up baked goods for the day - and I see why! We started by trying the Ham and cheese croissant - custard croissant and chocolate croissant: each one was eyeball-rolling-to-the-back-of-your-head phenomenal. The guy that pre-opens the store (e.g. sets out the chairs on the patio an hour before they truly open) isnt the friendliest - I asked if they were open upon seeing him one morning and his says "no" and just doesnt even look up at me. After tasting their goodies and seeing that line, I am sure he gets asked that a million times every day, so I try not to hold his "not morning person" attitude against him. This was a fantastic spot to pick up and run (it is quite small if you're looking to stay and eat here though). Make sure to order any and everything there: we wished we had more time so we could have eaten more of their delicacies!
