Run by a group of women and the lovely owner is from Enfield in county Meath. All the food from the farmhouse cafe comes from their farm and is made fresh everyday. The meat is from their animals and the bread and treats are baked in the cafe. I love how it has an old country house feel to it and the teacups and teapots are a random collection that look so pretty. My favourite thing from the menu was the Gammon sandwich. I no longer eat meat and this sandwich makes me struggle every time I see it on the menu. Oh the temptation.

The manager guy sees us, comes and welcomes us and asks if we wanted a seat. He took our luggage somewhere safe and got us a table. And then the food came. We got the avocado toast. So when we found the Boathouse Cafe at lunchtime, just as we were getting peckish... it made us two happy bunnies indeed. We both went for the soup of the day and shared a sausage roll. The sausage roll was your standard fare. But the soup was excellent, tomato and basil. And the slice of brown bread that came with it was also excellent. None of this sweet brown bread that a lot of places seem to be serving up with soup these days. We got a table outside where there was plenty of other cyclist parked up for lunch too. They know their market here, as there are a few bike racks provided. With our bellies full and are hearts warmed, we cycled away happy.
