That's not a bad thing, but just a different focus for the store. The store was clean and everything was laid out nicely ... if we were in the neighborhood shopping, we'd be sure to drop in here. This kind of focus just competes against the local grocery markets more than the general store layouts. Our only interaction with the store staff was a 5-star experience. We asked someone stocking shelves for a certain item, and instead of pointing us somewhere else ... she took us there. Very classy way to treat customers. We will return ...

The employees are helpful and answer your questions. I love all of the spice packages and the large freezer section. They had a large selection of spice packages that tell you what ingredients to add to make the specific dish. There is also a fast food area in the back of the store. The lady worker there was able to tell me what was in each item. I got 2 Samosas (Schzewan and Paneer Chili)and 1 Paneer Chili puff! Don't be fooled those chilis are powerful! As usual, I stocked up on Panini Sandwiches to go, as well as some desserts and baked items, like their amazing Scones. Also as usual, the staff were all very helpful and friendly. However, on this Saturday night (3/29th), we noticed how cold it was...MUCH colder than usual. Also, I didn't notice any overhead music playing... the usual classical music (which I love!). Unfortunately I'll have to deduct 1 star for the ambiance during our latest visit... too cold, and no classical overhead music. I'm sure to return...so hopefully I can upgrade the ratings again, as I feel this chain is one of the best in Charlotte.

No real issues with this store that I could find except prices…read more Nice big grocery store with lots of food and neatly organized. Isles are manageable without bumping into produce or anything. My one contention that unfortunately for me, I simply cannot get past is the prices. The store prices are considerably higher marked up on items that other Food lion stores & other grocery stores in area don't seem to share. I cannot pay $3.25 for a gallon of milk when there are stores just down road including a Food Lion where you can buy milk for $1.03 a gallon. That alone will keep me away but also several item in produce area are much higher. It's obviously not a problem for the folks in the area but Walmart , Aldi and even other Food lion stores do better. Even Harris Teeter offers milk cheaper. So there is my why.... but it is a nice store.

At checkout, I was told that I could not purchase 3 loaves of Canyon Bread and use my 3 coupons as each bread would need its own transaction. The same situation occurred with the chicken. I told him that I purchased the boxes and I was giving them to my church. As I was speaking to him he took my cart that I was still unloading and told me I needed to give him the boxes back that I had already loaded. There are also a few things that only Lidl sells and no one else. Today's shop included stuff from the meat fridges, blocks of cheese, a fresh cauliflower, some frozen shrimp, the black licorice that my wife really loves and their Lidl-brand fizzy water that I really love. Lidl isn't full serve and they don't have a wide variety of brands. You're going to be doing your own bagging and their bags aren't free.
