Publix watch out - Wegmans Fall 2026. I placed a fruit platter 24 hrs before pick up. The next day I realized I needed to change the pick up times, 2 hrs earlier. I called the store, waited, they came back to me and said they couldn't find the order. I told her it was ordered online, placed on hold They came back and said they found the order but wouldn't be ready til 5. I asked if I could get it sooner. She would ask the produce dept. His response was they couldn't do it sooner. When you do an AI search on Publix, it says "top tier customer service". Top-tier customer service would have been your order said 5 but I will have it ready at 3. Did they just find the order? Positive side the fruit "should be" fresh. Update: I went to Publix at 4:45 to pick up the platter. I looked on the receipt (and received an email, I wasnt home to check email), it was done at 3:30, but because I didn't check my email's I wasted time in Indian Land for 1:30 minutes. Why this is frustrating to me is I live 14 miles away from Publix, I had an appointment earlier in the day in Indian Land. Two trips, 14 miles one way. read more

Horrible customer service in the deli department, it's actually non existent, two people behind the counter completely ignored me, they don't want to work, they are there only to collect their pay dirt but hate putting in the work, bare minimum is what they are looking to do so sad to this in a company that pride themselves in customer service. These women were grown women as well, I can't say "oh they are young they don't know any better" one of them was at least in her 60's and the other one in her 40's or 50's I would say. Great shop today at Publix. I feel bad that I had already done almost the entire shop already at Aldi and Lidl, but there are simply certain products and certain brands that I can only get from Publix and that's what happened today. Produce department was excellent and I found fresh ginger. Wine department was great and I found the cooking wine we like. And the dairy department had the yogurt that my wife put on the list. Publix prices have skyrocketed while the quality of its produce and service (especially at the deli counter) have spiraled downward. You can't even buy a good head of lettuce. A jar of pickles is $9. Management claims to have shared the complaints with corporate but the complaints fall on deaf ears. This is our go to Publix as they are reliable, clean and have great customer service. The location is large, the parking is plentiful and the lighting and openness of the fresh produce area is great. I had a unique experience with Publix that initially almost deterred me from patronizing again. We had a college send off event for our daughter and I ordered my sandwich trays online via Publix website. I was extremely particular and careful in placing my order making sure to choose the proper cheese and bread and meat (Boar's head). I added notes and more. The event had guest arrive well before the start time so I sent my husband to pick up the order using my lastname. He arrives and was told there was no order for me (mind you I ordered the day before with a pick up time for the current day). He was given the run around for about a hour while we have guest waiting. They found the order mysteriously and made it, when he arrived I noticed it wasn't the bread I ordered on the sandwiches nor was it the right meat for some (just all wrong). Instead of sending him back to the store, I called to share my dismay. *This is where they won me back* The manager apologized and was accountable for ignoring the online order the day before. He immediately asked for our address and hand delivered a new platter of sandwiches made as I ordered, threw in a 1/2 sheet cake with (Congrats Grad) on it and brought a veggie tray over. This location would be 5 stars if their produce and meat where just a bit higher. My pork (especially) but sometimes otherwise goes bad before dated. The produce is good on flux (but sometimes had mold). Just check your berries and meat before cooking and otherwise, good as gold. Usually in stock and willing to make refunds. I went to the sub area to get a chicken tender salad like I always do and the Hispanic short girl with black hair seemed to be confused about what I was getting she didn't feel like making it and walked around the counter to tell me to get a premade one instead. I don't want apples, raisins, and nuts in my salad. There has never been an issue making it in front of me until today. So I just didn't order anything because she started getting a attitude and talked over me. Not to leave anyone out, this includes each section, and department employee. This store is representation as to how all stores should look, and how employees should represent the store to which their employed. People don't say Bob was bad, they relay the name of the store. I've been a Loyal Publix customer for 30 years in South Florida. So when I moved here and found out they were finally coming to South Carolina I was thrilled! My favorite department is the bakery! The mountain bread is very delicious as are their cakes and pies. When ordering trays for gatherings they are efficient and professional. The trays I've ordered over the years have all been a hit! Highly recommended! If for any reason you need to return something it's hassle free. All the employees are so helpful, courteous and friendly! They even walk you to your car and unload for you. This is the closest Publix to our home and it as an excellent store; however, I rarely shop here due to the gauntlet of Harris-Tetters surrounding it. When I do, I pick up their famous fried chicken. Although I'm a long time Harris Teeter customer and fan, I do appreciate the customer service at Publix which by the way is probably a bit more attentive. Both however, are superb. I have found though that the Publix stores are more consistently so across the board from store to store. I am thankful to have both stores in Charlotte. read more

I grew up on Publix and even worked as a bag boy/cashier at a few in Florida, so there is a little bit of sentimentality that comes with this territory. Though this location is a bit of a haul all the way from Charlotte and may not be practical for your run-of-the-mill grocery run, it's nice to see this familiar brand come close to home. Located off of 521, the usual gigantic parking lot with lengthy entrances comes with this SC location. Rather grandiose entrance as you wind in and around to get to the main parking spaces. This seems to be the theme with traffic coming off of the busier roads though. You've got all of your normal Publix suspects - great bakery, subs from the deli, nice produce, and all of the other necessary varietals. I do agree with others, though, and find the layout just a little odd. Upon entering, the produce section seems a little crammed in front of the bakery and deli. You have to round a pretty tight corner near the wine to access the backside of the aisles. Not a huge problem, or even a problem at all, but just something unusual knowing Publix stores. Could be a bit of a problem for Thanksgiving or other holiday shopping days/weekends. Though a small thing to note, the Publix brand yogurt with fruit on the bottom is awesome. Still the same since I can remember. All in all, glad to see that this brand of stores is making it's way up to our neck of the woods. read more

Indian Land store: I love their customer service; no other grocery does the same in my opinion. Their bakery is superb! Their produce department needs a lot of work. So often I go in there and produce has not be restocked. Many times, packaged produce needs to be removed as it's expired. Deli: Differing opinions. Ordered a special fruit/cheese tray one time. Was not ready as requested. When it was prepared, the fruit on the platter was inedible. Salad bar is often not available at times posted. One time, had to mention the lettuce set out was disgusting. Have mentioned a number of times, but don't see any changes. read more

I love Publix, I always have. I lived in Florida for a few years when I was a kid and remember always getting Publix Cuban subs and hitting the beach. If you want a GREAT Sub, this is your place. Otherwise, it's like walking into your Grandma's house to grocery shop. Every single employee that walks by you, acknowledges you and asks if you need help / how you are doing. The deli counter is staffed by some excellent people, always extremely friendly and helpful. The bakery is full of some super kid-friendly ladies who wait while my kiddo says shyly, "May I please have a cookie?" and then wait for her to decide whether she wants sprinkles or chocolate chip. They are always helpful in slicing a loaf of bread for us or even cutting a loaf in half and selling us half, as we rarely need a whole. A man in the butcher area and a woman (Monica) that samples things in the deli area know my daughter and I - always make mention of her often self-chosen outfit or ask her about her stuffed animal. They are just SO FRIENDLY! Not a sour attitude in the entire store and that is such a refreshing thing these days. If you need amazing flowers, a great produce selection or extremely fresh meat - Publix is your place. If you want a grocery store where your groceries are loaded for you and everyone you see has a smile on, this is your place. Check it out for yourself, you definitely won't be disappointed! I learned from an inside source months before it became public that Publix was coming to Indian Land. As a fan of Publix - I make it a point to shop at a store whenever I'm in Atlanta or Orlando or Ft. Lauderdale - I couldn't contain my glee. I would drive past the build site on a frequent basis, watching the progress, and counting the days. October 26, 2012 could not arrive fast enough. Since then, I've been a frequent and loyal shopper at the Publix. No mean feat, considering I live no less than 5 miles from here. What sets Publix apart from its biggest competitor, Harris Teeter, is their focus - laser-like and razor-sharp - on customer service. Here are some examples of the beyond-the-call-of-duty customer service I have personally experienced at Publix so far: 1. The day before Thanksgiving, I went to the bakery hoping to pick up a raspberry chantilly cake. They were all out. I asked the bakery manager if more were going to be made later that day. She informed me the only ones being made that day were made-to-order cakes, and she was planning on filling 4 orders, but she would add my request and have mine ready later that day, by 5pm. I didn't even have to place an order. By 5pm, as promised, my raspberry chantilly cake was ready. Try getting Harris Teeter to do that. 2. I only wanted one pound of London broil. The butcher offered to take the shrink-wrapped cut (it about about 2 pounds) and cut it down for me. By the way, the meat department will sell you a cut of meat however you like. If you see a nice ribeye, but it's a few ounces too big, no sweat, they'll cut it down to exactly the size you want. Try getting Harris Teeter to do that. 3. My wife asked the guys in the produce section if they'd core a fresh pineapple for her. Sure, she could have picked up some pre-cut pineapple slices in the refrigerated section, but she liked the look of this pineapple and wanted it sliced. A few minutes later, a cored pineapple, per her request. Try getting Harris Teeter to do that. 4. My daughter loves to pay a visit to the lobster tank. Don't ask me why, but she's obsessed with the lobsters. One evening, the very nice man behind the seafood counter asked her if she'd like him to take one of the lobsters out from the tank so she can touch it. Man, she could NOT contain her excitement! Try getting Harris Teeter to do that. 5. Unlike other grocery chains that run weekly specials, only for you, the customer, to show up to a store full of empty shelves because they're too lazy to restock, Publix guarantees that what they have advertised on their circulars will be on their shelves. I haven't seen them fail once. But you bet your ass I've seen Harris Teeter pull that shit on me several dozens of times. Yes, I'm giving Harris Teeter grief, and it's not hard to see why: they're the top dog, grocery-chain wise around here, and with the exception of the Taj MaTeeter, you'll always get shitty service at any HT around town. The only grocery chain in which I'm treated like something more than a patron to fleece money from is Trader Joe's. Publix pays great attention to major and minor details, and their focus on customer service is what makes them my favorite grocery chain. Sure, they're just as pricey as HT, but with more and more Publix stores making their way finally into the Charlotte market, it won't be long before the word spreads that you'll get yourself a far better shopping experience, and be treated like more than just a customer. read more

Hands down the best customer service I have experienced at a grocery store. I ventured down to Publix to place an order for my son's birthday cake (after multiple sources raved about their bakery). I was immediately greeted with a "hi, how can i help you" and was directed to the party planning station where a woman sat with me and tended to my birthday cake needs. When I went to pick it up, I decided to do some shopping as well and every worker, I'm dead serious, every worker that made eye contact with me, smiled and said hello. At one point, I couldn't find the bread, and someone walked me all the way to it. Despite the fab customer service, it's a bit of a hike from the Ballantyne area and a little pricier than the local alternatives; my everyday shopping needs will continue to be fulfilled by HT or TJs. However .... My daughter's 1st birthday is coming up and I will definitely be back to order another cake! read more

Publix itself is amazing and so are the employees. I have NEVER had a bad customer service experience and the quality of products is always great. The pharmacy however is an entirely different story! I have had 2 bad experiences there- the same tech has lied to me twice about why my prescription wasn't ready when promised. He is rude and provides horrible customer service. We tried to talk to the pharmacist about this but she didn't seem to care either. Unfortunately, that means we changed to HT for our pharmacy, decreasing the trips we make to Publix. The poor customer service at the pharmacy has cost Publix most of our business. Hopefully they can get it together in the pharmacy and we can go back to them as we LOVE Publix itself! read more
