Prices are comparable (if not cheaper) than the supermarkets in Chinatown, which is a huge plus. They also have a hot bar where you can grab food by the pound. Most of the options are deep fried, so not the healthiest, but it hits the spot if you need something quick, definitely gives Panda Express vibes. On top of that, there's a small skincare section with decent prices and even some Jellycats tucked in (so cute!). Downstairs, there's a little boba shop. I tried their cheese grape drink, which was not too sweet and came with fun jelly toppings. Overall, I'm really happy to have Bestco nearby and will definitely be doing most of my grocery shopping here.

While shopping with my husband and my 5 year old son, we were at the checkout when my son accidentally pressed the green button on the conveyor belt. In response, the cashier, MARIA of Cashier 7 today, this morning, August 30 2025, chose to yell at him in a manner that was loud, harsh, and completely inappropriate for addressing a young child. The lady after me with very young children looking at her, looking at us. As a parent, I was deeply upset by the way she handled the situation. I work in customer service myself, and I understand the challenges staff face. However, I also know that regardless of circumstances, it is never acceptable to lash out at a customer--especially a child. The tone and manner in which Maria spoke left my son shaken and created a very negative experience for our family. You traumatized my child, Maria. This is not the level of professionalism or care I expect from your stores. I kindly ask that this matter be reviewed, and that steps be taken to ensure employees are trained to manage situations with patience and respect. Customers, including children, deserve to feel safe and respected in your stores. What a fabulous find in the middle of downtown!…read more Fantastic selection of various Asian fresh, frozen and pantry staples - imported & local. It's mostly focused on Chinese ingredients, but they have enough items for Korean and Japanese that you can get by with in a pinch. They also seem to have separate mini boutiques for assorted tchotchkes and beauty products which I didn't investigate. The store looked pretty new and very clean. They also had an impressive array of hot and cold foods to-go that looked quite good, although I didn't try any. If I have any complaint, it is the fact that most of the vegetables are prepackaged in miles of plastic wrap and styrofoam... it is shocking to see. But aside from that, I'd have to say this beats the T&T by a good margin, and I am a T&T devotee from when they opened their first store in Burnaby in the early 90's!

Outside of your everyday Asian products, they had a lot of prepared food - sushi, side dishes, including kimchi, etc, dim sum, fried foods, hot buffet with all your popular Chinese foods. Skip the kimchi, the dim sum was decent and the food from the buffet was worth it. Check out moves quickly, the staff behind the buffet were very helpful. Make sure to bring your own bag.

We found that the ratio of products from Asian countries other than china is significantly higher than we've seen in other Asian/Chinese grocery stores. The produce is on the right when entering the store and meat department at the back. I was on the lookout for ube but hadn't seen it at other stores. There's frozen ube in this supermarket along with lumpia and turon. The breads section is quite large and next to that is the hot foods section with bbq meats as well. There was a section near the hot foods that used be filled with books and cds but now is Petit-Chef Tang selling Chinese crepes. When comparing prices to similar stores Bestco is fairly competitive. There are plenty of cheaper items but some are more expensive. They offer curb side pickup for groceries. By the cashiers there's many baskets filled with groceries and ready for customers to take them home. The Bruno compact hot plate seems to be all the rage these days and Best Food Mart was not to be left out of selling these. They were on sale for $119 and the various plates were available as well - takoyaki plate, cupcake plate, ceramic-coated pot and ceramic-coated pot with a divider.
