Folly Brewpub opened in October. It hit our radars a couple weeks ago and Gord and I checked it out this evening for supper. They brew their beer onsite. I had a Flemish Cap and found it a bit too sour ... Gord liked it. I liked the Colinet better. Gord ordered the Cod Fish Cakes and enjoyed them. He'd get them again. I had the Braised Capon chicken wings. They were good. Gord also ordered the Stovetop Mac & Cheese and said he'd order it again. I ordered Chicken and Waffles. It was good and I'd get it again. James was our server and he took excellent care of us. We had a great chat with Michelle, the manager. We'll be back.

Another brewpub having several own beers (between 8 to 12), decently priced I would say ($7,5 tax excl.). You can order a flight of 4 for $12, but!!! You cannot have flights on Fridays and Saturdays which led me to believe that this is rather a money hungry establishment. The burger is $15 and comes rather in a larger-than-average portion. I tried their Belgian brown ale which obviously was a Flemish Red Ale and their oat IPA, which had oats and some sweetness, but needs more of them. 16% of oats in the brew kettle is clearly not enough to differ from usual IPAs. Our waitress was kind but she forgot to bring water with half of the tables empty. You can also buy their bottled beers. They are brewing biweekly new brews, especially sours. As of July 31st, a plum sour will hit the shelves. A good place to try new beers, but of you want to have flight go during weekdays. I'll go a couple more times to try their beers and will comment on that later. It s 3.5 stars, not 4 if you ask me

Delicious octopus - get it next time it's on the menu!!

Great beer, amazing food, and wonderful people (oh, and they have a small patio). I like to sit at the bar and learn more about the beers - made in house - which are changing all the time. The food is fresh and expertly made by the co-owner chef. We have fully enjoyed everything we have had here.

Awesome burgers and fish tacos cooked to perfection. Great beers and a very impressive collection of scotch whiskies. I will be back!

As always, my friend and I shared beers; we ordered 2 choices, an IPA and an Amber Red Ale, both of which were quite good. This was our 3rd visit to the Brewery; our 1st visit was part of a Riverside Crawl featuring local businesses providing drink samples; we were given a tour and beer samples. At our 2nd visit shortly before X-Mas 2019 we sat and shared beers at the bar. The Brewery has specials/discounts and trivia Events and is a nice addition to the neighbourhood.

Took advantage of happy hour and got a pint for $5.50. During happy hour they have two snack items, tortilla chips & dip, toasted corns nuts for $5. We decided to go with special Fish Friday menu and ordered 2 jumbo size haddock chips with fries & slaw to share($24). Overrall I loved they avoid overseasoning evetything( pubfood does not need to be salty all the time). Fish was very decent size and homemade Preserved lemon mayo was excellent. Great thin sliced fries that you did not miss ketchup. We also purchased more canned pumpkin beers(355ml $3.50) to go.

For a retirement gift, my boss had bought $50 gift certificates to six micro breweries in Guelph, which has been great. We've had dinner at some, but at others, I have just bought cans of beer to go (usually I put in a bit more cash and get 18 cans). This place must not have had a proper gift certificate, because I just had a "pint card" (4 beers value - $34) and the balance was rung up as 2 X 473mL lagers, for about $50. I explained to the server that I was sure this was meant to represent a $50 gift card and she said it was just a pint card and my boss must have drank the two tall boys there (while touring around Guelph to get gift cards at 2pm). Anyway, I finally took the 4 cans, which were $34 plus tax, although for $30, you could get 6 cans. I'm probably going on too long about this, but I feel like I was ripped off and this is my only way to deal with it, emotionally. Anyway, I will never go back there again, and please, never buy a gift certificate from this establishment.

We went on a weekday evening, so it was pretty quiet. The wooden tables and seating added a more laid-back vibe. The Chicken Karaage was good - big chunks of chicken and crispy. Got it, I lowered my expectations and found both drinkable but diluted the margarita to combat its excessive sugariness. If anything, their menu was the perfect hearty base before a night of drinking. Having shared two of their sandwiches, the smashed burger ($21) was a hit. The potato bun was topped with two generous sized beef patties that are a little thick for a smashed burger but still had a nice crust. I liked that there was plenty of fixings including lettuce, tomato, cheese, caramelized onion, pickles, and a house sauce to give it interest. This was a tasty burger. Meanwhile, the potato bun disintegrated with the Korean fried chicken sando ($21) making it difficult to eat. Still, the chicken breast was hot and juicy with plenty of breading to give it a crunchy bite. But despite the liberal smear of gochujang mayo, it wasn't overly spicy and needed more heat. Adding some lettuce with the pickles may also help create a barrier between the bun and sauce to ensure the bread can hold up better. Maybe Rorschach's supplier gave them a bushel of the tiny potatoes, but their fries were cut so small... it's like eating Hickory sticks in fry form. You'd think a smaller fry means more crispy edges, but we just found they were really dried out. Rorschach Brewing Co's dining room is surprisingly spacious with picnic tables scattered throughout to accommodate varying sized tables. They were understaffed for a Friday, but the two servers did their best and made sure our large table was served and out in time for the concert. Perhaps they even breathed a sigh of relief once we vacated. So long loud ladies, we can go back to swigging beers.
