    Flight (C$14)

After a few hours at St Lawrence Market, we wanted to sit down, have a beer and a snack. Goose Island was nearby, and we were familiar w/ the brand, so we decided to drop in. We had a flight and some fries (not pictured), as we relaxed and cooled off. The beers were very good, but we did receive a couple of short pours. Likewise, the fries were GBD, and were nice & hot. Regarding the ambiance, you can see the fermentation vessels the beer is brewed in. There is also restaurant style seating, but we sat at the bar. Our server was nice & friendly. If you are in the St Lawrence Market area looking for a beer, Goose Island does the trick. They have a good selection, and the service is very good.

A little bit of a yikes, here as I wanted to get some beers from the bottle shop and even though there were four servers working the bar area, the bottle shop person was away and according to the bar staff they can't ring in the bottles, only the bottle shop person can. Its a very strange system, but the bar manager was nice enough to give me a free taster while I waited.

Thee beers were ok. The bartender was rude, took forever to bring our orders and was inattentive.

Goose Island is a very central downtown brewery. A lot of space to meet up with my friends and a wide selection on tap. There's two patio space as well, one on the front and one on the side, that's semi private. My session bitter (picture) was refreshing, and don't let the word bitter fool you, it's just enough bitter and not too much. The Tea & Berry - Wheat Ale with Earl grey & fresh berries was also very good. It's a good place to drink both common styles and some new types.

Before the Toronto Rock game, Gord and I had supper this evening at Goose Island Brewhouse. They make most of their beers onsite ... my Good Clean Fun was good. Gord ordered The Big Schnit (minus the zucchini, garlic and tomato jam) with onion rings. He said it was delicious and he'd get it again. The onion ring batter was like the batter you'd find on fish 'n chips. I ordered the Brewhouse Burger (minus lettuce and onion). It was a good basic burger and I'd get it again. Brandon was our server and he was friendly and helpful and took good care of us.

Great late night eats in Toronto! We hadn't tried Goose Island beer before but we like craft brews and pub food so this spot ended up being a great selection. I want to give a shout out to our server who made lemonade and sweet tea from the bar because those drinks weren't on the menu and it's what the kids wanted to drink. We were super impressed with his willingness to go the extra mile! In all we ordered the mussels, schnitzel, cheese pizza, duck wings and Fan Favorites from the sharing menu. Everything was delicious!

My friends and I came here after work one evening for dinner and drinks. We preferred the well lit feel of the Goose compared to the adjoining Bier Market restaurant with which whom it shares the same menu. We also preferred the high top seating surrounded by giant steel drums which gave off the feel of being in a distillery. The only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because it took us nearly 20 minutes before my friend was able to wave down a waiter, otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The smoked chicken pesto pizza was a perfect sharing plate. Both my gf and I ordered the Caprese salad after spying someone else's order at the next table which I loved. As a tip, if you're not a big fan of beer they have fruity sweet beers too. My gf and I both ordered the Allora: pink guava and orange zest which was extremely refreshing without being overly sweet. All in all, I'd happily come here again.

Goose Island Brewhouse is located in the Old Town Toronto area. They had a nice patio on this beautiful summer day and we headed inside to take a look at their menu before deciding whether we wanted to dine in or not. Stepping in and glancing through their menu, I also noticed how nice the interior was. I could already spot at least one item I could try on their menu, so we decided to dine here. I definitely liked the cozy interior of the restaurant. There were a lot of brew kettles and tanks and I could see the line of different types of Goose Island beers on tap at the counter. I was so impressed with this meal! First of all, we had a flight of beer (I love flights). We were able to try the original Goose Island beer plus three other reincarnations! It was so great. We had the Nutmutter, Thunder Gun, Redacted, and the Goose Island IPA. I liked how each beer was labelled in chalk on the board so that we could see which beers were which. It's little things like this that make the dining experience even better. Secondly, they had a sharing board option where you could customize your board with any of their 25 culinary creations! They priced them at three, five, seven, nine on a board, or a la carte. We decided to choose three items to go on our sharing board. We chose the Crispy Brussels Sprout Leaves, Triple Cream Brie, and the Smoked Kielbasa sausage. Our three choices were fantastic. The Crispy Brussels Sprout Leaves was really good with lots of parmesan cheese on it. The Triple Cream Brie was great as well as the Smoked Kielbasa sausage. The bread that came with the sharing board was so good too! There was also a small tub of pickles. I appreciated that our server came to check up on us often. I especially appreciated that when our mains arrived before we were finished our sharing board, she apologized for the quick arrival of the mains and asked us if we wanted to put the dishes under the heating lamp to keep them warm first. I declined her considerate suggestion, but it was definitely appreciated! (I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant where the server has suggested that before.) I ordered the Pig Roast Sandwich. Its description sucked me in and I was very curious about a "brined and basted whole roasted suckling pig, crackling, seasonal fruit slaw, jalapeno and dijonnaise on a toasted black and white sesame seed bun". When it arrived, I was so impressed with its size! The portion was huge! At first, I actually thought that the wrong order was given to us because I didn't think that the "crackling" part was present. However, after I asked the server about this, she took the order back to ask the kitchen about it and reassured us that it was the correct order. I liked the sandwich regardless. There was actually so much roasted pork in between the buns. It was a very impressive portion. K ordered the Chicken Schnitzel which was served with Yukon gold mashed and mixed vegetables with mushroom, tomato, and onion gravy. It was also a really nicely plated dish. In fact, Goose Island seems to share its dining space and menu with Bier Market as the plate that this dish arrived on had the Bier Market logo on it. This Chicken Schnitzel was also very impressive as the chicken cutlet was nicely crispy on the outside but not dry at all! It was really good! I also liked the fresh and moist vegetables that came with it. As you can tell, we had a really good time dining here. The food choices were exceptional -- that sharing board is genius -- the portions were phenomenal and the tastes were good, the service was splendid, and the vibe of the restaurant was so nice to chill in for some beers. I would totally return to Goose Island Brewhouse for another meal!

This place is more of an extension to the Bier Market than a separate entity IMO. I have tried some of the Goose Island offerings from LCBO so had an OK idea of what they sell here. However I was disappointed to see they didn't have any of the varieties I enjoyed were not on tap that day of the visit. The saving grace is one can order of the extensive beer list for Bier Market. I was told by the regulars here that even the food menu is the same. The setup is OK and there is plenty of seating which is great as one can get a spot even on a busy weekend. I tried the Chicken Schnitzel and sub the sweet potato fries. The food seems to have improved from what I recall as it has been eons since I dined at the Bier Market. Decent. Now for the service it was friendly yet there were quite a few lapses where we would go unnoticed for long periods of time. I think this is an OK place for this area to get your craft beer fix if you are into that scene.

Great for a wide variety beers. Came to grab two beers for st pattys day. If you bring the bottles back you get a 5 dollar discount on your next beer. Great price!

The RyGuy greeted us as soon as we walked into the building- I told him my BF likes the hoppy ipas and he filled him a flight board to his liking- he was happy with everything he got and ryguy was super knowledgeable. He recommended the Brussels and bacon pizza. The beer was good. But that damn pizza I'll think about for months to come.

Goose Island is a former US Craft brewery that was bought by one of he big 3 and started exporting into Canada. This brewhouse is a sort of "pop up" attached to Beir Market and shares a kitchen. So from a food perspective it's decent pub food. You can do better or worse. The pull here is the wide range of micro brews all done on sight by Goose Island. You can get their normal Honkers and IPA, but your better off enjoying the 10 or so beers made in location. They range from low IBU (bitterness) of 6, a play on a Smokey polish style, to a 65 double IPA called Mantis. The latter, which is also quite boozy, was my favourite. Expect bitter with pineapple and stone fruit. Lots of accessible options and they've really covered all the bases. I'm a bit of a beer snob, but I enjoyed my flight ($14 for 4 x 7oz). My wife had a bacon poutine that she enjoyed. Worth a visit.

Great new addition to the Esplanade! There are a variety of beers they brew on-location and I think this is a great place to grab a quick drink. Big fan of their double IPA here (the Mantis). Bartender was pretty generous for tasters if you just want a sip to see if you like something. Did not try any of the food here so cannot comment on them.

I always sought out breweries to visit wherever I traveled, and they were the lucky winner on my brewery exploration. Old Flame Brewing Co. was founded by Jack Doake in 2013 and named after its flagship Port Perry location, a historic building that experienced two previous fires. Doake, a serial entrepreneur, was inspired by dissatisfaction with macro lagers and a desire to brew quality traditional German lagers, a focus that led to multiple awards, including being recognized as the most awarded craft lager brewery in Canada. The brewery has been known for its commitment to preserving the history of its buildings while brewing high-quality lagers. OVERALL Old Flame Brewing Co. was a nice introduction to the Toronto beer scene, and I would definitely return. The beers were tasty albeit limited in availability (ten on this visit) and variety (no IPAs). The prices were very comparable, they had minimal snacks and onsite food (I always loved something salty to munch on while I drank beer), and they allowed outside food. The service was easy and straightforward, and at least pets were allowed on the outdoor patio. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $40.00CAD BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... The treatment I received was awesome - cheers! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance): I was in the area all day for the start of the Toronto International Film Festival, so I simply walked. Otherwise, there were spots along the many main and surrounding streets, some nearby structures, numerous public transportation options, and rideshares - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A cavernous interior with a main bar and stools, plus a ton of places to sit. I never made it outside where apparently there was a beer garden. Minimal natural lighting inside and of course a ton outside while electric ceiling lights filled in both areas. There were several muted TVs inside indie rock music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=59IcCRZFC2TVdN5G8QmwjA ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Mascot Brewery was the best! The beers, food, prices, and service were cracking! I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $120.00CAD BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 5.0 STARS

Left Field's second location in Liberty Village is a very welcome improvement to their original…read morelocation in Leslieville, which I've been a patron of since 2013 when they opened. The new location has two levels, a beautiful open concept floor plan and a large outdoor patio. We walked in on Saturday (World Series Game 2) and were seated immediately. They had another weekly event going on but that didn't detract from speed and service. The beers are fantastic, with some staples still on the menu from 2013! The Eephus, Wrigley, and Greenwood are original and exactly as I remember, but Ice Cold Beer, Tarps Off, and Oppo were delicious too! Get a flight, take in the community spirit and enjoy some baseball themed beers! Go Blue Jays

Gord & I had supper last evening with friends. It's been a while since we've all gotten together…read moreand it was nice to catch up. Gord and I had Pep & Cheese pizzas (10" New York style pizza, pizza sauce, Ezzo pepperoni, mozzarella, oregano and Grana Padano cheese) and we both took half of our pizzas home for lunch tomorrow. Rosemary had Mac and Cheese (creamy mac and cheese made with our beer and cheddar sauce, topped with melted cheese, shaved scallions) and Chicken Tenders - Kids Combo (3 kid-sized buttermilk marinated, panko-breaded chicken tenders; served with thick cut french fries, plum sauce and ketchup) ... the mac and cheese looked delish and she took half home but the chicken tenders were overcooked. Kevin had a Chicken Clubhouse Sandwich and fries (classic clubhouse sandwich served on 3 pieces of toasted white bread, stacked with grilled chicken breast, shredded lettuce, tomato, Swiss cheese, bacon, guacamole and chipotle aioli spread). Alfred had a Margherita pizza (10" New York style pizza, pizza sauce, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and Grana Padano cheese). Christine had a Chicken Caesar Wrap (grilled chicken breast, romaine, parmesan, caesar dressing, wrapped in a 12" flour tortilla) and took half home. Ocean was our server. She was friendly and took good care of us. For some reason, the 3 pizzas came out about 15 minutes after the other meals so they were almost finished by the time we started.
