Folia in Lake Forest is definitely worth trying--a solid experience with a few things to note. The pasta was 10/10. Rich and flavor. The chicken was great but the sauce was very heavy--almost a bit too much--so just be ready for something on the richer side. Service stood out. George was a 10/10 server--attentive, personable, and made the experience feel elevated. Christian was also great and added to the positive vibe. Only downside: we were charged $8 for water without any warning, which felt a bit excessive and should definitely be communicated upfront. Overall, great food and strong service--just a transparency issue that knocked it down slightly.

I went here with a group of 5 via a reservation. We were immediately welcomed and greeted by a wonderful host who sat us and explained the menu options and recommended we try everything. We did just that we tried over half the menu and everything was incredible. Highly recommend the deviled eggs, brussel sprouts, bao buns, spicy edamame, udon noodles and more. After dinner we popped into the other side of the bar which is an art gallery and the bartender was so friendly, welcoming and fun! We walked around the art gallery, enjoying the beautiful exhibit and sipped our cocktails for at least an hour. This was such a wonderful experience, we will def be back!

It wasn't so much a speakeasy because it was not hidden, but that didn't really matter to us once we were there . The food was Asian themed and they had different drinks than the other restaurant next-door . I thought the focal point would be a bar in the middle of the restaurant, but there was never any bar that I could locate so that was also confusing. The food was really good. We had black garlic, deviled eggs, some tuna tartare and a lamb Ragu that was really good. So if you're looking for speakeasy, this is not really a speakeasy, but it has really good Asian food so just an FYI when browsing the Internet. The only reason I gave it four stars is because I was expecting one thing when I walked in and I got another, but we were pleasantly surprised with the food and drinks that we received so we will be back.

You gotta try deep dish a this restaurant did not disappoint. The man at the desk took our order and was very helpful with explaining us on size and what we were looking for! Very cute shops to walk up and down the street while we waited for our pizza that was being made! Even love watching the train go by while we sat there eating! Thank you so much for making my first time a great experience in knocking it out of the park with a delicious pizza ! The small size pizza was cut into 6 slices so it's just about perfect for two adults. It was so savory it was literally hard to stop eating it! The sauce, although basic, had a nice tang to it and it really was perfectly matched to the ample cheese. The crust was cooked to perfection and I was glad to see it was a flour-based crust, not cornmeal. All in all, a surprisingly great experience in a nice casual setting (and very close in many ways to Nancy's Pizza on Broadway in the city).

Man, am I glad we got the flyer, because they have since become one of our local favorites! For the longest time, Lou Malnati's was our favorite Chicago style deep dish pizza, but Cansino's is now #1 in town for us. Their cheese blend is soooo creamy, stretchy, and delicious! It's apparently their own in-house blend of California cheeses, and it reminds us of the tasty Wisconsin brick that's popular in Detroit style (possibly a little creamier but less salty). Their tomato sauce is super savory, with a rich herb blend and not too sweet or tart - it's so satisfying! The crust is firm and delicious, and their sausage is leaner than Lou's while having a stronger fennel essence. We still love other Chicago style deep dish pizzas, but Cansino's will be the first on our list when we get a craving. We love onion rings in principle, but are a little particular about how we enjoy them. Cansino's onion rings are excellent - crispy seasoned breading and supple onion slices that are cooked juuuust right. Their fries are also really tasty, and we loved their fried mushrooms. I've tried two of their Mexican style tortas, which were also very good (I loved the fajita style veggies and beans, and the seasoned beef was pretty good). The steak and veggies were excellent, and their bread was pretty good. Next time, I REALLY wanna try their paninos. Their staff is super-friendly, giving us great suggestions of new things to try. The restaurant is always clean and well lit. Prices are fair for the neighborhood. Their preparation times are reasonable, and everything we've ordered was ready on time. There's plenty of parking right in front of the shop, and their front entrance is easily accessible. They're right across the street from the Fort Sheridan Metra Station, so I recommend trying them out if that's your stop. They also have some breakfast items, so it might be a good treat before your morning commute. We're definitely going to be trying more of Cansino's menu, and we'll be sure to add more photos and updates.

We ordered the Margherita pan pizza and the thin mac and cheese bacon pizza. The Margherita was my favorite. I thought I had ordered it thin crust, but it came as pan instead. The crust was a bit thick, but honestly one slice was very filling. For two people, it felt like a lot of bread -- but the toppings were really good and everything tasted fresh. You could tell the ingredients were high quality. The mac and cheese bacon pizza was good too, but you definitely have to like both mac and cheese and bacon to fully enjoy it. I personally liked it better without the bacon, but it's still a must-try if you're into unique pizza combinations. Overall, solid first takeout experience and I'd definitely order again.
