Amazing Pizza in Lake Forest! I'm not sure why this place has some negative reviews because our experience was absolutely outstanding! Their pizza is phenomenal. The crust is perfectly thin with just the right balance of crispness and chew, spot on in consistency and flavor. If you're a fan of classic, high-quality pizza, you'll love Rosati's. Don't let the bad reviews fool you this place is awesome Highly recommend!

    Raw dough

I don't know the chain so didn't have any preconceived ideas. But I am sorry to say I was let down. The dough was totally raw and therefore inedible. The topping has promise though so I'll try this place one more time and will update my review and stars. Fingers crossed

Thank you so much for making my first time a great experience in knocking it out of the park with a delicious pizza ! The small size pizza was cut into 6 slices so it's just about perfect for two adults. It was so savory it was literally hard to stop eating it! The sauce, although basic, had a nice tang to it and it really was perfectly matched to the ample cheese. The crust was cooked to perfection and I was glad to see it was a flour-based crust, not cornmeal. All in all, a surprisingly great experience in a nice casual setting (and very close in many ways to Nancy's Pizza on Broadway in the city).

We ordered the Margherita pan pizza and the thin mac and cheese bacon pizza. The Margherita was my favorite. I thought I had ordered it thin crust, but it came as pan instead. The crust was a bit thick, but honestly one slice was very filling. For two people, it felt like a lot of bread -- but the toppings were really good and everything tasted fresh. You could tell the ingredients were high quality. The mac and cheese bacon pizza was good too, but you definitely have to like both mac and cheese and bacon to fully enjoy it. I personally liked it better without the bacon, but it's still a must-try if you're into unique pizza combinations. Overall, solid first takeout experience and I'd definitely order again.

I kept the order simple and went with a pepperoni deep dish. It was great! Sauce had good flavor and wasn't overly spicy, while the crust had just the right amount of crunch with a buttery flavor. It wasn't heavy on salt either. They made everything how we ordered it. The employees even provided us with plastic ware and plates to go. If in the area, take the trip to visit this or have it delivered. You won't go wrong!

Man, am I glad we got the flyer, because they have since become one of our local favorites! For the longest time, Lou Malnati's was our favorite Chicago style deep dish pizza, but Cansino's is now #1 in town for us. Their cheese blend is soooo creamy, stretchy, and delicious! It's apparently their own in-house blend of California cheeses, and it reminds us of the tasty Wisconsin brick that's popular in Detroit style (possibly a little creamier but less salty). Their tomato sauce is super savory, with a rich herb blend and not too sweet or tart - it's so satisfying! The crust is firm and delicious, and their sausage is leaner than Lou's while having a stronger fennel essence. We still love other Chicago style deep dish pizzas, but Cansino's will be the first on our list when we get a craving. We love onion rings in principle, but are a little particular about how we enjoy them. Cansino's onion rings are excellent - crispy seasoned breading and supple onion slices that are cooked juuuust right. Their fries are also really tasty, and we loved their fried mushrooms. I've tried two of their Mexican style tortas, which were also very good (I loved the fajita style veggies and beans, and the seasoned beef was pretty good). The steak and veggies were excellent, and their bread was pretty good. Next time, I REALLY wanna try their paninos. Their staff is super-friendly, giving us great suggestions of new things to try. The restaurant is always clean and well lit. Prices are fair for the neighborhood. Their preparation times are reasonable, and everything we've ordered was ready on time. There's plenty of parking right in front of the shop, and their front entrance is easily accessible. They're right across the street from the Fort Sheridan Metra Station, so I recommend trying them out if that's your stop. They also have some breakfast items, so it might be a good treat before your morning commute. We're definitely going to be trying more of Cansino's menu, and we'll be sure to add more photos and updates.

I hadn't been here in a while, but I was glad to check it out again. It is hard to get used to how loud it is at first, but it depends on where you sit. The louder people near us left early into our dinner reservation, so that was good. Our server was super nice and eager to ensure we had everything we needed! Things take a while here, and it's such a long-running restaurant that you'd think service needs would be "well oiled" more than they are. It took us 10-15 minutes just to get water, and for me to get a club soda, it took about another 15-20. (These are estimates - I didn't pull out a stopwatch! That would be weird.) I don't think it was our server's fault either; she was running around the place very intentionally. I was a bit worried that this restaurant was coasting on its reputation and would have staid, bland food, but no! The minestrone was some of the best I remember having, and my friend thought the same of hers. She liked her spaghetti marinara with meatballs, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed my spaghetti with what was basically vodka sauce. I didn't eat all of it, to say the least, because I was getting full, but I enjoyed what I had. It was very flavorful - recommended! (Just be prepared to wait a bit...don't go before a show.)
