Fun local place for lunch! The lunch menu has a variety of dishes, all reasonably priced for the portion. Their tater tots are especially delicious as a side. The chicken salad sandwich was flavorful and filling. Tina G's also has fun cocktails, perfect for a fun way to toast an occasion. Service was quick and efficient. Interior was clean. I just called to make a reservation for a party of two on a Saturday night. I was flexible on the time and was willing to take whatever time was offered, as I wanted to support a local business. I was told there was room in the dining room at 5:00 pm, but that "I would have to be out by 6:30 pm". I responded that we weren't planning on staying for hours. I also pointed out that there is a nicer, more polite way to let a customer know there is a time limit on the table. I was met with another rude response to this feedback. I didn't make the reservation and will not be spending my money at this establishment. While I cannot speak to the food, the customer experience begins with the first interaction, which in the restaurant business is typically requesting a reservation. Please consider staffing your phones with someone who has experience in customer service. I will be sharing this experience with my neighbors and friends as well. Thank you Tina G's and Kami for a wonderful evening. The food was amazing. The Burrata appetizer was scrumptious and very large. The Caesar Salad was super fresh and tasty and oh the special Panko Crusted Sole was amazing with sautéed green beans and penne pasta. We finished with profiteroles with custard and a chocolate mousse on top. Just wow. Everything was beautifully plated and the perfect temperature as well. Kami made the whole evening all the better with her friendly service and graciousness...truly top-notch! Tina G's is my favorite Italian restaurant in Mundelein! The lunch and dinner options are superb. The drinks are excellent, I serve one of their martinis as my signature cocktail at New Years (the horchata caramel martini, and mine is but a pale imitation). Really though, I remember that Tina G reached out to my mom when she got sick. Mom is alright now, but the gesture meant a lot to me. That was so heartachingly kind. I'll keep coming back here until I am old and gray. Oh, and get dessert! The tiramisu is great :D read more

We had dinner there for our anniversary and wanted to go somewhere local. We decided on Tina Gs our waitress was so nice and very attentive. She talked me in to getting their special the Lasagna. It was delicious and had plenty of leftovers. My husband got his usual Spaghetti Carbonara which is always delicious and on point !!! I was referred by a friend and also Yelp reviews. The owner forewarned me there was going to be a turnabout dance so we decided to have dinner early. That was much appreciated! The ambience is cozy and nice. The Caesar salad was very good. The shrimp Limoncello appetizer was fantastic and same with braised short ribs ravioli. Had an amazing dinner here. The panko sole is fantastic. Loved the drizzle of Dijon sauce on top. The potatoes on the side were so yummy. Their service is great. To the owner of Tina G's- It does not make me happy to have to give a review of your company, I will also follow through with a phone call. My husband and I just recently moved into the area and love to support local businesses. My husband works in the restaurant business and I am also in the service business. We have dined at your restaurant 4 times and the last 2 times have not been great. We noticed that the waitstaff looks unprofessional and the customer service has gone down. Our dinner the other night was literally brought to our table within 5 minutes of us ordering it, we felt rushed and didn't even get the opportunity to relax. What could have been a nice evening turned into a horrible experience. We asked to speak to the manager and when he came out, he was not friendly and looked quite disheveled. The time before this experience was also not great, our waitress didn't know what San Pellegrino was and had to ask someone else if you had sparkling water. When she discovered you had "sparkling water " she proceeded to bring it to the table and spilled it on my friend. That was actually fine because accidents happen, however, my order didn't even come out properly. So, the point is, the attention to details is way off and unfortunately, I don't want to come back or even recommend your place. 2 hours give me a break, still no food, then the waitress comes to tell us that the special is all out. Hum, the fist appetizer on the menu is fried calamari, and guess what? They are all out of it. Asked our waitress to refill our glasses of water, waited, waited and waited. Ms can we get some bread, (what Italian restaurant does not have bread, oil & Parmesan cheese on the table)? She brought ours a 9" piece of bread cut up into 1 inch squares. Well finally our meal came & since they were out of the fish, I ordered pasta carbonara. Well that's what is was suppose to be. It was actually doctored up fettuccine Alfredo with peas and tiny bits of pancetta. No flavor at all. After dinner our waitress bought a carafe of water to the table. Then along with the check (she knew we were upset) she brought us a tiramisù. Said it was from her. Very poor service, very poor food & I won't be back. On another note how can servers be lined up 4 deep, at ONE terminal to place food orders. Absurd. read more

We had lunch with my friend there. Unfortunately, I couldn't try their Tina G's Burger as they were out of some ingredients, but their mushroom soup and cobb salad were delicious. The service was great, very helpful and attentive to all our needs. We enjoyed seating outside even though it was a little bit noisy because of the traffic. Very happy very friendly, we were so excited to dine with our friends we hadn't seen in quite some time! We ordered some wine, ordered our appetizers (out of calamari) the zuchinni were fried in old oil. You could tell by the residue in the plate and the flavor it had. We ordered our entrees. An HOUR AND A HALF later, the server came back to tell us they were out of the fish special we had ordered. At that point we were starving frustrated and irritated. We ordered bread, and some ended up with half cooked garlic take and bake. We asked to talk to the manager at that point. We were told she had stepped out to run to the store to get items they had run out of for dinner service. After two and a half hours our entrees came out, we ate so fast because we were starving and didn't even care what it tasted like. Let's break this down... you are unprepared for dinner service, you don't have a proper pre shift meeting with your staff to tell them what is unavailable. You're serving half ass garlic bread as an appetizer. You have one terminal for your staff to put orders in which backs up the kitchen. You have zero accountability as managers which lead to hardships within the staff not wanting to work for you. Your poor service and quality is a direct reflection of the inability to properly run a restaurant. read more

We have dined here many times in the past. The meals have always been great and we always have enough to take leftovers home. We haven't been back for a few years now. We decided to go on a Friday night. It was very disappointing. The service was really good, but the food tasted like it was something I could make with a jar of spaghetti sauce at home. The portions were so small that we had no leftovers. We sat outside, and my $19.50 glass of wine was served in a small plastic cup(although other tables had wine with stemmed glasses). They used to have specials, however our waitress didn't suggest any specials. Also, I thought we used to get a serving of bread when we sat down? There was no bread before our meal. For the cost, we will not go back again. So disappointing. read more

Food was just okay. I had the gnocchi capers as my entree. It wasn't bad but lacked some flavor. The fried calamari was decent. A littler chewy but I've had worse. Three entrees came out at the same time and the 4th came out about 5 minutes later. Timing was just off. We also asked for an order of garlic bread while we waited for the entrees to come since since the kitchen was backed up and we didn't receive it. In addition, the fettuccine Alfredo had no flavor and we had to send it back. The food I not authentic at all. Note- they do not serve any bread at the table. Very strange for an "Italian" restaurant. Our meal took about 2.5 hours on a Sunday night. I don't think I'll be back. read more

Our food took 40 minutes to receive in a restaurant that was only a quarter full, if that. I ordered the Strawberry Salad and I found it to be barely edible. The chicken on top was grisly and flavorless. The first dressing that came with it looked like a soup broth and tasted like sugar water. The second dressing I requested was a vinaigrette that had too much oil and not much flavor, even after repeatedly stirring. If it hadn't taken so long to receive the food, I would have sent the salad back and had them remake it or I would have ordered something else. My husband's sandwich was better. He ranked it a 5 out of 10. Also, the sweet potato fries were good. Our server was friendly and the ambiance was nice. The wagyu burger with sweet potato fries was really good. The flavors of the rye bread in combination with the grilled onions and melted cheese on the burger made every bite enjoyable. The regular fries that came with the double cheeseburger was also good. It was fried with a seasoning that reminds me of the fries I would get when I was a kid. The menu was limited and they didn't have a few items I had originally wanted due to a lobster shortage. Had to ask for water a few times, because the cups were small. I recently went here with my family after a colleague of mine, recommended it. The first course that we had was calamari, and they were much larger pieces than I'm accustomed to, and the breading was a little bit soggy however, the second appetizer we ordered was clams, and it was absolutely phenomenal. The rest of our meals were outstanding, and we will definitely be coming back on a sidenote from a service perspective I came with my wife and three children, one of which is eight months old. The hostess or manager offered for us to sit in a private room for the door that closes as there was some music in the background. Dined at Tina G's last night with friends. There were 5 of us. We were seated at a round table; my favorite because you can converse so easily with all the tablemates. Had a perfect gin & tonic! Our waitress was so sweet and accommodating. Two of us went with the evening's special pot roast dinner and it was delicious! Another had the shrimp special and she was very pleased. The other two had menu items and there were no complaints anywhere. When it came time for the check our waitress actually asked us if we wanted individual checks! This was terrific since 3 of us were singletons with one couple among us. So many restaurants give lame excuses why they don't do separate checks. Tina G's does it right! At no point did we feel rushed even though it was a Friday night at the height of dinner time. I want to come here more often! read more
