So we have been to the other surrounding Fogo de Chaos and this one is better than the El Segundo location but hard to beat the Beverly Hills one. Overall the vibe is relaxed lounge. The meat here overall is cooked very well with just a few dry pieces. Our Server Kalond was absolutely magical. He kept the vibe very chill and professional while also tending to our every need and when we had requests he was right on it. This was a great experience and I would recommend this location and restaurant to anyone coming in town. read more

While the food and atmosphere at this Fogo de Chao location are quite good, the service, food quality control, and sketchy billing practices completely ruined our evening. We paid $103 per person for the Indulgent Churrasco experience specifically to try the premium cuts, but the service was incredibly inattentive. Our server, Yojana, only checked on us 3 times the entire evening (excluding bringing the check). We actually had to flag down a different server just to order another round of cocktails. The meat service was equally frustrating. A server named Pedro walked past our table at least 5 times without offering us anything, even though both of our cards were flipped to green the entire time. Because of this, I never even got to try the filet mignon (which was the main reason we upgraded), and my wife only received one piece. To add insult to injury, the lobster tail we were served arrived completely raw. When we sent it back to be cooked properly, the replacement portion they brought out was noticeably smaller than the original. To make matters worse, the final bill felt like a scam. We visited on a Wednesday, which was advertised as "all-day happy hour" with $10 cocktails. However, two of our drinks were charged at full price ($15 and $17.50). On top of that, a $19 item (Lobster Mac and Cheese) that we never ordered miraculously appeared on our bill. When we brought up the errors, management applied a $40 "discount" to our tab. But if you do the basic math--subtracting the $19 fake item and the $12.50 cocktail overcharge--their generous "discount" amounted to exactly $8.50. To top it all off, the suggested gratuity at the bottom of the receipt was calculated based on the original total, meaning they were asking us to tip on the fake items and overcharged drinks! Adding items we didn't order, failing to honor advertised prices, serving raw seafood, and then disguising corrections as a discount while padding the tip calculation is incredibly deceptive. For a premium steakhouse, this level of neglect and shady business practices is completely unacceptable. We won't be returning read more

Fogo de Chao has some great Brazilian food. They have lunch and dinner and we have had both. We just love their meat and sides. The service is so kind and they know everything about Brazilian food. They will take good care of you. They are fast, but you are not rushed. It can get busy so make a reservation. We lucked out on a weekday and have never had a wait, but we are lucky. The place is super pretty, inside and out. It is very comfortable and they make you feel welcome. The place is ever so clean. All of their food is great. We love their Full Churrasco gluten free. This is what mad Fogo famous. You will get continuous tableside carving of premium Brazilian cuts including, Picanha (top sirloin), bone-in ribeye, Fraldinha (bottom sirloin) lamb chops, the best roasted chicken and whatever else they cooked up that day. I go to Fogo weekly but the HB location. This was my first time at this Santa Monica location. I went with one other person for lunch and we did make some last minute reservations. We were able to get the time we wanted and when we arrived out table was ready for us. Of course my favorite meats included the picanha, garlic beef, and bottom sirloin. The meats came out often and rather quickly. They all tasted good and was cooked mostly right. The person I came with did get some pieces and cuts that were wayyyy too raw but overall it was decent. The self service bar was kept pretty clean. What this location offers that our HB location doesn't is little shots of some lemony ginger drink and some yogurt parfaits. I enjoyed them. Service for the meat guys were pretty good but our server was pretty slow. The table next to us got mad because their wine genuinely took a long time. It took awhile for us to get our check. The inside is like their other locations. I did like that they had a cute patio "outdoor" area which is pretty much all covered. Parking was easy since there is a parking garage nearby with complementary 90 minute parking. After that I believe you have to pay. It's located right by the pier on the corner on the street so super easy to find. read more

My friend turned me onto Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse, and this beachside location has become a fun spot for a good meal. If you're a serious protein eater, this is definitely the place for you! The meats are flavorful, and my favorites are the sirloin cap and ribeye. That said, we especially love coming for the lunch buffet when I'm not in the mood for a heavy grilled-meat feast. The salad bar has a great assortment, including smoked salmon, maple-glazed bacon, various cheeses, marinated vegetables, fresh salads, and fruit. There's plenty to choose from, so even when I'm trying to give my meat-loving side a break, I'm still very happy. Came here today for lunch while I was in Santa Monica with family. We were sat very promptly and immediately were able to go get food from the market table. They have a huge variety of salads and starters to choose from. Next came time for the main event. Our waiter Jorge gave us small indicators to turn over marking yes please (green) or no thanks (red) in regard to whether we wanted more churrascaria meat to come out. My favorites were definitely the picanha and fraldinha which were cooked so perfectly and fresh thanks to Marcus in the back. The one let down was the waiter kept bringing out dry bananas and cheese bread. Usually they are fresh and warm but the two times we asked for them they were not enjoyable. You can never go wrong with lunch and a view at this location. Santa Monica has to be my favorite location so far. I've been to the other but this one takes the cakes. It's right in the heart of town and across the street from the fame Santa Monica pier. Restaurant itself is quite beautiful with the bar area right when you walk in. There's private dining room to the side and the main restaurant right in the middle. To the right is the covered patio section that looks out to the street. Great for people watching. It's also connection to the bar area. You have options on if you want the whole dining experience, salad bar included or the salad bar itself. Plus they offer happy hours all day I believe. Different locations offer different things. For the price of the salad bar itself was great. I like that for lunch versus all the meat. Also happy hour items are quite nice too. Certain dishes and drinks specials. A couple of us so we utilized the salad bar and some things from happy hour. Salad bar, you have your traditional salad that are premade or create your own. There's a good amount of veggies items. Asparagus, cauliflower, grilled vegetables, mushrooms and so on. Also different savory salad. Then you have the charcuterie board sections with a a good mix of cheese and meats. The soup sections with rice and of course their candied bacon, which is a must. There's a really good selection if you walk up to see what there is. For the price of under 20.00, you can't beat it. Drink special for cocktails for happy hour was nice too. We also ordered the streak which was tasty with the chimichurri sauce. Charles took care of us this visit. Sweet, friendly and very professional. He was there checking up with us regularly to see if there was anything we needed. Not just him but the entire staff. Lunchtime isn't that busy but it does bring a good amount of people in. The food has alway been great. Service was always amazing and the staff were always friendly and great. Highly recommend if you're wanting meat and more meat. I'm always let down by Fogo. I'm not sure if my expectations were lower when I was younger or if this place has just gone downhill, but I can never find consistency at these places and it can be genuinely not enjoyable. The meat can come out super dry, salty, and again, the consistency is not there. Would love to love this place, I just can't bring myself to. The service is usually good, but most of the meat cutters hang around with sub-prime cuts and only bring out the good stuff sporadically. While I understand that's the business model, it just doesn't sit well with me. Also, with all the servers hanging around, it's sometimes hard to have intimate personal conversations. The seafood tower was pretty damn good but the steak we ordered, opted for the à la carte steak as opposed to ayce, was overcooked as we asked for medium rare. It took a while to come out and we didn't wanna wait for another steak after this one was overcooked. When we talked to the manager, all they did was throw in a complimentary dessert. Gee thanks. Tip: The noise-level inside is surprisingly low, even when the venue starts to fill up For starters, we enjoyed the salad bar. We also enjoyed the complimentary bread and mashed potatoes they brought after we were seated. Then we flipped our card from red to green and the meat started coming. From chicken, to pork, to steak and more, there's a very wide variety of types and cuts offered. If you don't see what you want after a few minutes, ask and they'll bring it if they've got it.
