Came here today for lunch while I was in Santa Monica with family. We were sat very promptly and immediately were able to go get food from the market table. They have a huge variety of salads and starters to choose from. Next came time for the main event. Our waiter Jorge gave us small indicators to turn over marking yes please (green) or no thanks (red) in regard to whether we wanted more churrascaria meat to come out. My favorites were definitely the picanha and fraldinha which were cooked so perfectly and fresh thanks to Marcus in the back. The one let down was the waiter kept bringing out dry bananas and cheese bread. Usually they are fresh and warm but the two times we asked for them they were not enjoyable. However aside from this we enjoyed the service and food (meat). It was a nice lunch time outing especially listening to the brazilian music they had playing.

    Beautiful view of the ocean.

Came for lunch with my wife. Drinks were super strong. Jeremy was very intentive to our needs. He was our server. I would've given it five stars if the soup wasn't cold and if they didn't have meat in the beans. But overall, it's a great sheep lunch for less than 20 bucks you can't beat that.

You can never go wrong with lunch and a view at this location. Santa Monica has to be my favorite location so far. I've been to the other but this one takes the cakes. It's right in the heart of town and across the street from the fame Santa Monica pier. Restaurant itself is quite beautiful with the bar area right when you walk in. There's private dining room to the side and the main restaurant right in the middle. To the right is the covered patio section that looks out to the street. Great for people watching. It's also connection to the bar area. You have options on if you want the whole dining experience, salad bar included or the salad bar itself. Plus they offer happy hours all day I believe. Different locations offer different things. For the price of the salad bar itself was great. I like that for lunch versus all the meat. Also happy hour items are quite nice too. Certain dishes and drinks specials. A couple of us so we utilized the salad bar and some things from happy hour. Salad bar, you have your traditional salad that are premade or create your own. There's a good amount of veggies items. Asparagus, cauliflower, grilled vegetables, mushrooms and so on. Also different savory salad. Then you have the charcuterie board sections with a a good mix of cheese and meats. The soup sections with rice and of course their candied bacon, which is a must. There's a really good selection if you walk up to see what there is. For the price of under 20.00, you can't beat it. Drink special for cocktails for happy hour was nice too. We also ordered the streak which was tasty with the chimichurri sauce. Charles took care of us this visit. Sweet, friendly and very professional. He was there checking up with us regularly to see if there was anything we needed. Not just him but the entire staff. Lunchtime isn't that busy but it does bring a good amount of people in. The food has alway been great. Service was always amazing and the staff were always friendly and great. Highly recommend if you're wanting meat and more meat. But a nice power lunch with a glass of wine, it's perfect too. Plus a good spot for group meals.

Amazing meat (the bar bites menu is available on the patio) and even better service (ask for Jay). And the location right next to Santa Monica Pier is unbelievable!

Food is okay, but not for the price. Desserts are too sweet. F.e. This one is NOT brigadeiro

Came on a Saturday with a reservation, and luckily it wasn't too busy. We've visited their other locations before, so this experience was disappointing in comparison. The ambiance was classy and inviting, but unfortunately the service didn't match. It took quite a while for a server to approach us, and the pacing throughout the meal felt off. We did the Full Churrasco Experience ($77/person), but the meat quality and consistency were underwhelming as some cuts arrived nearly raw, while others were overcooked and dry. Additionally, certain meats that we were looking forward to didn't come out until after we had already paid, and the overall rotation was noticeably slow. On a positive note, we did enjoy the salad bar, pão de queijo, and queijo assado. However, given the price, I don't think the experience was worth it.

Bar area, crispy yuca fries, braised beef rib sliders

My friends and I are regulars at Fogo de Chão in the DMV area, but we just wanted to say that no other location compares to the Santa Monica one. We were visiting LA and stopped by for lunch at the bar, and the entire staff made the experience memorable. Lisa, our server, was friendly and attentive throughout the whole meal, but the highlight of the day was definitely Chef Marcos. He came by several times to check on us, gave us recommendations from the menu, and genuinely made us feel welcomed. Marina, who I believe was the manager, was also incredibly kind and attentive. The food was outstanding, honestly even better than our regular location back home. The crispy yuca fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy, and the braised beef rib sliders were absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was great too, especially the music, which was at the perfect volume with a really good selection. What stood out the most, though, was the hospitality. Everyone treated us so warmly that if I lived in the area, I would absolutely become a regular here just because of how well we were treated.

Came here for Easter brunch with my parents, boyfriend, and boyfriend's family, and it was a great experience. Made a reservation online in advance and since we were the first, we had our pick of indoor or outdoor tables. It was dinner pricing due to the holiday but the brunch items were still available. I parked at Parking Garage 8 which was a short walk away. They had plenty of variety of fruits and salads, and I liked that thy had apple ginger shots. The cheese bread was delicious as always and we ordered the mashed potatoes and fried plantains (included in the Churrasco experience). They came by plenty of times with meat options and I liked the linguica the best.

    Creme brulee cheesecake amazing. $13.

For a chain the food is wonderful. I'm in love with the Market Table buffet and have eaten all cuts of meat there. I've surprisingly discovered my favorite is lamb. I've been to 5 locations in the last 2 years: Pasadena, Brea, Dtla, Washington DC, and now Santa Monica. I can now attest that their service is reliably bad (DC and Brea were ok). If you come in this way you won't be so baffled or flumoxed. Don't make any appts after fogo or you'll be stressed. The servers are very nice and personable but will forget you. It's not terrible if you want to hang with your group in a leisurely manner to enjoy the fullest extent of your meal but just beware. We were there for over 3 hours for a mother's day lunch and half of the time was waiting for dessert or the check. Sometimes you're just not sure if it's a staffing shortage or bad managers in charge of the restaurant. But yesterday at this location I discovered it was both but having a bad manager brought low morale to the working staff. I saw the GM pointing and complaining to each staffer there-- from the bartender to waiters. She even chided my waiter Leo right in front of me-- gave him a lecture on needing to know the rewards system and belittling him right in front of me. Is this the Brazilian way of managing staff? Or her way of running the Santa Monica branch? Not sure. The location can't be beat (directly across from SM pier). Not busy at all. I'm not sure if the economy is affecting their choices for the buffet-- when I didn't see the candied bacon I inquired. A nice female staffer said they wouldn't be making it that day. I was so bummed. Then 1 hour later she surprised me by delivering me a small plate of it to my table. Oh man made my day! I ate it all up. Food is great but you have been warned about service here.

    "Grilled bananas"

Two visits to Fogo de Chão, Santa Monica, and two acute disappointments. We won't be going back. Context: I lived in Brazil for seven years and went to São Paulo Fogo de Chão's a half dozen times. A key element of an upscale Brazilian steakhouse is the service: waiters are constantly coming by your table, offering you a variety of meats. If the level of service in a Fogo de Chão in Brazil is a 10, the level of service at this Santa Monica restaurant is (generously) a 3. On our first visit, 15 minutes at a time could pass before a waiter offered a new variety of meat -unthinkable at a Brazilian Fogo de Chão. On our second visit, it took over 15 minutes after we were seated for a waiter even to show up at our table. It took 40 minutes after having been seated for the first meat to be served. It could be a coincidence, but we also noted how they offered pork and sausage 1st before bringing the steak. Was that to fill us up on the cheaper meats before the more expensive ones? Now the food... an American likely will look at the salad buffet that comes with the full churrasco meal and be impressed. But compared to the salad buffet served at Fogos in Brazil it's below average. The fruit selection is paltry and the palm hearts are tiny. But the worst of all is the feijoada and rice. Feijoada stew--black beans, pork, sausage--is essentially the national dish of Brazil. A real Brazilian restaurant takes pride in their feijoada. Fogo de Chão Santa Monica? Zero pride. The beans were flat and flavorless. Where was the garlic, the salt? The pork and sausage? Skimpy. But the worst was the rice. Let's make one thing clear: what they serve here is NOT fine-grained Brazilian rice. As one in our party, put it: "this rice is like the stuff they serve in the steam trays at my college cafeteria." Feijoada was not even available at the buffet at 12:45 p.m. We had to ask for it and they fetched some from the kitchen. Not serving feijoada at a Brazilian buffet? This is like not serving salsa and chips at a Mexican restaurant. Believe it or not, these aren't the only problems we had at Fogo de Chão Santa Monica. But this review is long enough. you get the point. With all these problems, why didn't I give the restaurant just one star? I considered it. However, when the meat finally does arrive at your table it's good. That's why this review is two stars instead of one star. One last thing. Another staple of a Brazilian steakhouse is grilled bananas. I have attached a picture of how our grill bananas were served. It looked like something that you'd try to avoid stepping in on the sidewalk.

    Great patio location

Really love going to this location. I go there often since I work close by, the food is prime and the lunch specials are great. With a cool ambiance. The staff is always friendly. Shoutout to our server Jay. He always gets us sat quick with great service. The patio is my fav spot to sit, with a perfect view of ocean blvd and the pier. I will continue to bring my friends and family there.

I'm always let down by Fogo. I'm not sure if my expectations were lower when I was younger or if this place has just gone downhill, but I can never find consistency at these places and it can be genuinely not enjoyable. The meat can come out super dry, salty, and again, the consistency is not there. Would love to love this place, I just can't bring myself to. The service is usually good, but most of the meat cutters hang around with sub-prime cuts and only bring out the good stuff sporadically. While I understand that's the business model, it just doesn't sit well with me. Also, with all the servers hanging around, it's sometimes hard to have intimate personal conversations. The seafood tower was pretty damn good but the steak we ordered, opted for the à la carte steak as opposed to ayce, was overcooked as we asked for medium rare. It took a while to come out and we didn't wanna wait for another steak after this one was overcooked. When we talked to the manager, all they did was throw in a complimentary dessert. Gee thanks. Won't be coming back here willingly any time soon .

Over the years I've visited many different links in the Fogo de Chao chain, and this one turned out to be every bit as I expected it to be :-) It's a good place to bring family, friends, or both to enjoying a filling and tasty meal. Tip: The noise-level inside is surprisingly low, even when the venue starts to fill up For starters, we enjoyed the salad bar. We also enjoyed the complimentary bread and mashed potatoes they brought after we were seated. Then we flipped our card from red to green and the meat started coming. From chicken, to pork, to steak and more, there's a very wide variety of types and cuts offered. If you don't see what you want after a few minutes, ask and they'll bring it if they've got it. Service is very attentive, and we never found ourselves waiting too long for anything.

The entire staff was incredibly kind, and the manager, Luis, was very attentive, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and taken care of. The food is beyond amazing -- everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. Since my first visit I have come back multiple times, and have received outstanding service each time. I came on Valentine's Day and it was beautifully decorated. It was also EXTREMELY BUSY, and again, Luis stepped up and became the backbone for his staff. From hosting, serving, bartending, and working hard to make everything flow smoothly. I have such a wonderful experience each time I come, not only with the food but also with the manager and staff. The restaurant is very clean, which makes the atmosphere even more enjoyable. No matter the time or how busy it is, my food comes out in a reasonable amount of time, and nothing ever feels rushed or forgotten. What really stood out to me was how much the manager seems to genuinely care about both the staff and the overall environment. He was constantly moving around, checking in on everyone, making sure guests are happy and that his team is doing okay as well. It's really warming to see that level of dedication and leadership. Overall, this is one of my new favorite places to come due to my positive and memorable experiences. Great food, amazing service, and such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal and excellent customer service.
