Then you might be fortunate enough to get a replacement concentrator! The after hours number this time around actually answered the phone but asked me the same question at least 6 times before I got cranky, like how many times do you have to say the machine shut itself down! It's been less than 6 months since this old machine replaced the other used concentrator! They want their money but falls critical short on taking care of their patients that depends on oxygen! Find another company, this one will definitely let you down! American Home Patient, Cameron, Missouri

I had purchased a cpap machine from American home patient and everything was great and fine until…read morethe machine was on recall. I called American home patient and was instructed that I should call the manufacturer and that there was nothing that they could do for me. I explained to them that the manufacturer instructed that I immediately discontinue using the machine and that was a problem because I needed the cpap machine to breathe at night.  I asked American home patient if I could purchase a new Cpap machine which I would pay for since I just got the recalled machine from them within the past 6 months. American home patient decided that they would not sell me a cpap machine and refused to.  Because I had a recalled cpap machine they refused to sell me a new one. They told me that I could not buy one from them all their cpap machines were for new insurance  customers.  I guess because I have a recalled cpap machine I could no longer buy a cpap machines from this company. I was willing to pay full price for the machine but they refused to sell it to.  How they can discriminate between who is allowed to purchase medical equipment from them and who is not.  My money is just as good as anyone else's.  Why has American Home Patient decided to no longer sell me this life saving medivial device which I need? What makes me different then everyone else who is allow to buy medicial devices from them.

Five years ago, the folks at Advacare helped me fix up my wheelchair and the experience was…read morestellar. I'm not sure what has happened since then, but my recent experience with this company left me wanting. I am willing to admit that they seem to be in the process of reorganization, upgrading their system and replacing personnel. However, this does not excuse the lack of customer service. From the beginning, I could tell things were different. They wanted me to get a "prescription" for wheelchair repairs from my doctor. (I did, even though I thought it was the dumbest thing I had heard.) When I showed up to order the parts, they did not have the list I had sent them. The technician did his own evaluation of my chair and wrote down everything by hand, but could not give me a copy. They told me it would be a week or two before they heard from the insurance company and I left without knowing when I would hear from them. Rather than phoning me, they sent me a letter telling me that my insurance company would not cover the cost of the repairs. The letter demanded payment in advance, before the parts could be ordered. By the time I could afford the payment, I had misplaced the letter. Even though I had phoned them the day before to tell them I needed the balance and that I was coming in to pay, they could not find my order or a copy of the letter. As a result, they could not tell me how much I owed. We agreed on a down-payment of $200. The next day, they called to tell me that I owed all the money up-front, but as a courtesy they would defer the rest until my chair was repaired. Two weeks later, the parts came in and I made an appointment for the next day to get the repairs. When I showed up, there was no one to greet me. Everyone seemed to be at lunch. Three people walked by and asked me who I was waiting for and each one told me he would be by soon. When he finally showed up ten minutes later, he could not recall the appointment I made the day before. He wandered off "to check." Another service guy finally came out to fix my chair. I transferred to a regular chair and he took my chair away. After several minutes, he returned to ask if I wanted the tubes ordered with the tires or the hard inserts that I currently had. I explained that I did not order inner tubes, I have never used them and there must be a mistake. He left to finish the repairs. I had been told the repairs would take less than an hour. I was there over my lunch hour. An hour and a half later, the service guy returned with my chair. I paid the balance due (which, as near as I can figure, was a number they pulled out of thin air). The final invoice did not add up, and I suspect I was overcharged because of the tubes they ordered that I did not need. I wish I could say this was the end of the tale, but when I returned to work, I realized that the service guy had not screwed in the new backing after replacing it, nor had he fastened the backing at the base with ties. Luckily, I had some screws and ties at home that worked in a pinch. It may be another 5 years before I need repairs on my wheelchair. If so, I hope I can find another medical supply company to do the work. My latest experience with Advacare Medical will also be my last.

I give Curtis Taylor of Independent Home Solutions 10 gold stars for his assistance to us…read more Hi, My name is Steve Huckins, we purchased a used stairlift for my wife and I need help installing and troubleshooting the stairlift. We purchased a used Bruno SRE-3000 and have it partially installed. We had it operational before installing it. We can't get the charger to go from Red to Yellow or green. And no local stairlift companies will help us because it's a used unit. We really need help, Thank you, Steve & Ginger Huckins Curtis, That would be great as long as you service the Troy area. I just need help, the chair worked great before I took it off the rail to install the rail. I am having the darnest time getting any sort of help. Because it's a used unit. Long story short. Then when I initially put the chair on I did a break a part but I found it on line & replaced it. It was the SRE-30035. Then I put the chair back on the rail with that assembly & the cover off, so I could see and not damage that again. We just moved here and I'm just trying to make it so my wife can access the basement. Thank you, Steve & Ginger Huckins Unfortunately we are located in the Kansas City area and that's outside of our normal service area. However, I'm guessing from what you're telling me that you may have blown the fuse when taking the motor off the rail. If so it's a 5amp mini blade fuse which is located on the carriage of the motor. This fuse can be purchased at just about any auto parts store. Hopefully this information helps you out. Curtis, YES, YES, it was the fuse. Thank you, Thank you A 1000 thank you's. Words cannot express my appreciation for your help. Steve & Ginger Huckins Curtis, $5.00 for the 6 pack of fuses. I was prepared to spend $250-$750 to figure that out. I am speechless, thank you. Steve
