I went to this location because it was listed in my insurance network. The place was understaffed, and the doctor had family working in there which I thought was odd. In hindsight, I guess there were many red flags that I ignored. The doc was nice enough and helpful. However, I asked about
Lasik and she told me that I would not be a good candidate because I was 38. The instruments had to be cleaned while I was in there, which I thought was really unprofessional. So, I finished the exam, and got a prescription for contacts and glasses. I was given one pair of contacts to wear out, and I had a very old prescription of backup glasses. I figured I would have the glasses in about a week. It ended up taking about 2.5 weeks to get my glasses. Within this time, I went on to get an appointment with a Lasik surgeon. The Lasik surgeon said I was a great candidate because my eyesight was unlikely to change too much due to my age, and it has been stable throughout my life. There was also no issue with tissue thickness, or other issues with my eyes. Just -5.5 script and minor astigmatism. With this info, I scheduled a surgery. I contacted Focus on eyes, I asked about returning possibly the 4 unopened boxes of contacts or the glasses (frames only possibly) and just paying for the lenses. She told me no to both. Even before I had even picked up the glasses. Dr. K asked me why I didn't tell her I was going to go ahead with the surgery. The way she asked, she said I was her client, and I should have consulted with her first. I did not really like this reaction, and I told her really it was none of her business and I could make these decisions whenever I want. A google search told me that in most cases in Texas, if contacts are unopened, at least that is returnable. I wont need to go here again, but I would not recommend this place to my friends. I'm not saying it was all bad, but it was not very helpful on the back end. read more
