Great diner! It has a drive thru but we decided to go in and so cute! Was nice to visit with the owner--super nice! The steak burgers rank right up there as the best we've had! Lemonade was really good too! We have dogs traveling with us and they received some tasty milkbones too! Will definitely stop again!

Super clean!! perfect simple small menu. Has just what you need. Enjoyed the small chat with the owner. Perfect quick stop for our roadtrip to Yellowstone

Our waitress was no nonsense, just a "yep" when we mentioned missing breakfast. She was a great waitress. Took our order right away and made sure we had everything we needed. We ordered the fried mushrooms, smothered burrito, and BLT with fries. The mushrooms came out super hot, and had a good breading on them. The ranch was really good. The smothered burrito was good. It was full of taco meat and the green chili was descent. They also gave you salsa and sour cream which was nice. The BLT was good. The bacon wasn't super crispy, but tasted really good. I didn't care for the fries. They weren't bad but had that breading like texture on them. I'm not a fan, but that's just a personal preference. Overall the place was good, nothing extraordinary, but the folks are nice and the food was ok.

Made with 2 slices of processed cheese even though I ordered the one off the adult menu (not kids menu). I should have asked if they had real cheese I guess, my bad. The tomato I added was good thankfully but between the fake cheese, lack of it (see photo), and the canola oil / margarine on the bread, it was not a tasty bite of food. Our server was nice but since I mostly rate in regards to food, can't give higher.

It was early in the morning and we had to hit the Port of Entry to grab our permit for the oversized load. I attempted to make coffee while he was driving but all I made was liquid grounds and a huge mess! They recommended the 3 Sisters at the permit office so odd we headed to grab some Java. When we walked in it was empty except for one table and she greeted us with "Are ya here for breakfast?" Well that wasn't our plan but I immediately responded yes because I wasn't going to try to cook after the coffee fiasco of 2023! Hubby was hesitant because he isn't used to enjoying his time while working but went along with me. He is Ssssssuuuuppperrrr glad he did! We ordered 2 eggs and had browns and toast ($1 extra for the sourdough and worth it!) and biscuits and gravy (2 full biscuits) and home fries. He raved over the home fries. Says they are the best he has had. Service was so personable and she honestly asked us about our morning and where we were headed. The decor was hometown midwestern and they are recently under new management. The coffee was amazing and the food went above and beyond. I made certain to thank the Chef for making us an awesome breakfast that we weren't expecting to get when we stopped. Further it was all cooked fresh and to order. I'll be back! I already told hubby I want to winter in Lusk! He says we better arrive in October and plan to stay until April, I'm down for it!

It is like the old diners you used to pass while on the road and they were always great food. This is not that place. There were five of us and nothing was good. Nothing. Everything you order is coming from a frozen bag. The jalapeño poppers were frozen in the middle. We got the guy to take them and cook them some more and they came back boiling lava hot. Our sandwiches were no better. I had a burger that was clearly a frozen processed patty. Now, that doesn't mean they can't be good, but this was cooked to oblivion. The service is handled by the only guy there who is also the cook. Getting a drink refill wasn't easy as he was busy cooking. Unfortunate, but I couldn't wait to leave and never return.

As I drove by this time the parking lot looked pretty empty so I pulled in to get some breakfast. The diner is like the rest of Penny's diners, trying to capture the nostalgia. There were only two other customers so I had my choice of seating. The waitress found me after about five minutes and promptly took my order. I ordered something named which I cant recall but it included 2 eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns and 2 pancakes, I also ordered coffee. The coffee was weak and not that good and I was only asked once about refills. The meal was ok but the hash browns were barely browned, perhaps they should relabel them as slightly browns potatoes. Just an average meal, a little too pricy and average service but an option for breakfast on the road.

Very relaxed atmosphere with tables and benches, probably built by their children (the small log cabin was built by their kids!). They're open for breakfast and lunch 8am-2pm (closed Tues & Wed). One of my 'go-to's' is their breakfast of 2 eggs (their's ... organic free range), thick slabs of bacon (their's ... home grown & smoked) with hashbrowns (their pototoes) and a huge side of AMAZING apple sauce (their's of course) ... and to top it all off their sour dough bread that is so very special (also sold at the local health food store, along with their fresh herbs and many of their other canned good products). Have Renee list all your options of jam & jellies to spread on your slice of heaven sour dough, mostly unusual ... such as crabapple and rhubarb. Speaking of canned good products ... I just experienced a small taste of their zucchini relish and pickles alongside my sandwich. I couldn't believe it ... and what a gift to be able to purchase their products that elevate a meal with big flavor (canned goods, sweets, spices, jams & jellies, fresh herbs, organic free range eggs ... oh and they have ice, not theirs ... lol). I just don't know how to stop raving about their food, I'm just so thankful to have found them, and I think you will too or I wouldn't be writing this review. Enjoy, and be sure to write a nice review ... we want these people to prosper for all their hard work and commitment to healthy food for us.
