Sometimes in life you get hungry and you take a chance on a place with little to no insight or…read moreinformation as to what you should expect. That was me when I found myself rolling through Crawford, Nebraska and saw the sign for C's Drive in. I could not have been more pleasantly surprised with my overall experience here. The couple who owns and operates the place are exceptionally friendly and are doing classic grease-pit burgers/fries/milkshakes etc but with a notably personal touch. I spent some time talking to them as the place wasn't busy when I arrived, and I can tell you that they are working hard and paying close attention to the food that they're serving. No cut corners, just a couple of people who understand the value of serving good food as a way to make a restaurant succeed. They are passionate. I learned about the way they source the curds for their cheese curds and how they batter and fry them to perfection. I learned about the quality of their beef for the burger patties and how they tried a few combinations before deciding on what they use, (which is delicious), I learned about broasted chicken which is a way that chicken is prepared that leads to a fantastic outcome, (think fried chicken, but more crispy, never dry and loaded with juices). I feel like I can say with confidence that if you stop here and place an order, that the person preparing it will be taking their time and paying attention in order to serve you something that they can be proud of. Classic menu, exceptional execution. Don't second guess it. I had a double bacon cheeseburger, hand cut curly fries and the cheese curds because they sounded so appealing. Would order it all again. Still thinking about those cheese curds every day. All in all this is place is a great example of how good simple things can be when the people behind them show up and care about what they're doing. If you're in the area do not second guess it. The prices are right, the food is pure comfort, and you will leave kind of shocked at the overall quality and value of the place. 5 stars.

The hand cut curly fries are dropped to order and are best when fisted into your mouth. Do not skip the cheese curds! Cheese straight from Wisconsin and hand breaded. The soft served ice cream will complete your food coma.

Our waitress was no nonsense, just a "yep" when we mentioned missing breakfast. She was a great waitress. Took our order right away and made sure we had everything we needed. We ordered the fried mushrooms, smothered burrito, and BLT with fries. The mushrooms came out super hot, and had a good breading on them. The ranch was really good. The smothered burrito was good. It was full of taco meat and the green chili was descent. They also gave you salsa and sour cream which was nice. The BLT was good. The bacon wasn't super crispy, but tasted really good. I didn't care for the fries. They weren't bad but had that breading like texture on them. I'm not a fan, but that's just a personal preference. Overall the place was good, nothing extraordinary, but the folks are nice and the food was ok.

Made with 2 slices of processed cheese even though I ordered the one off the adult menu (not kids menu). I should have asked if they had real cheese I guess, my bad. The tomato I added was good thankfully but between the fake cheese, lack of it (see photo), and the canola oil / margarine on the bread, it was not a tasty bite of food. Our server was nice but since I mostly rate in regards to food, can't give higher.

This was a fun little experience for us... We love dive bars, so we were looking for a dive bar…read morewith good food. This hit the mark. The three-quarter pound burgers were giant and truly delicious as were their onion rings... Crispy and greasy - just the way I like them. Nice selection of local WY beers. We tried two of them. The place is dimly lit and not much to write home about, but that's what we expect from a dive: we loved it! If you are pretentious &/or woke, go away: this is NOT YOUR place. This is a down-home, locals hangout with the coolest local patrons and an hysterical bartender (she was awesome). In fact the day that we came, she was talking about a TikTok warning that the US was going to be bombed by Iran and the locals sitting at the bar were giving her a hella hard time about it - we sort of joined the comedy show as "table number six" (which is how the bartender referred to us throughout our visit) as we laughed along with them, giving this good natured bartender a hard time about the TikTok news; bantering back and forth about how much time we have left before Lusk was bombed . We left in a really good mood and we can't wait to go back - presuming the building is still standing (after we left to get out of Dodge before the 5 1/2 hour timeline before the bomb dropped. LMAO)! Definitely gonna be one of our stops every time we're in Lusk! 5-star dive bar experience!

Very relaxed atmosphere with tables and benches, probably built by their children (the small log cabin was built by their kids!). They're open for breakfast and lunch 8am-2pm (closed Tues & Wed). One of my 'go-to's' is their breakfast of 2 eggs (their's ... organic free range), thick slabs of bacon (their's ... home grown & smoked) with hashbrowns (their pototoes) and a huge side of AMAZING apple sauce (their's of course) ... and to top it all off their sour dough bread that is so very special (also sold at the local health food store, along with their fresh herbs and many of their other canned good products). Have Renee list all your options of jam & jellies to spread on your slice of heaven sour dough, mostly unusual ... such as crabapple and rhubarb. Speaking of canned good products ... I just experienced a small taste of their zucchini relish and pickles alongside my sandwich. I couldn't believe it ... and what a gift to be able to purchase their products that elevate a meal with big flavor (canned goods, sweets, spices, jams & jellies, fresh herbs, organic free range eggs ... oh and they have ice, not theirs ... lol). I just don't know how to stop raving about their food, I'm just so thankful to have found them, and I think you will too or I wouldn't be writing this review. Enjoy, and be sure to write a nice review ... we want these people to prosper for all their hard work and commitment to healthy food for us.
