We were so happy to see this location open again, but I'm afraid it's going to go the way of all the others in that location. On the night we went we left with our clothes reeking of smoke. It is also very loud even when it's not crowded and so much light comes in the west facing windows it's annoying. Our server was excellent and we shared a salad which was wonderful. My husband had rib eye steak with smashed potatoes. The steak was OK and the potatoes were not very flavorful. I had clams with chizoro, but there was NO chizoro in the dish. The clams were tiny. The thing that really killed it for us was when we got the bill. We had ordered two drinks from the bar and were charged $2 each for ice. This has happend to us only once before at another place and that restaurant is long gone, too. I am aware they they say they give a larger pour, but this won't go over well in Keller. Just charge more for the drink, please. I wish them well, but we won't be back. read more

Last night was our 5th visit to FnG Eats. We've experienced a variety of dishes, seating arrangements, & wait staff, which makes us uniquely qualified to write a review. Although each time hasn't been perfect, I would have consistently given them a 4 or 4.5 rating. But last night, they earned the 5 star review. I believe it's a reflection of the fact that it takes a little bit of time to get something running like a well oiled machine. Every time, Chef Bob (one of the owners/chefs) has made the rounds visiting each table - not just to chat, even if it feels that way - with the real purpose of getting to know his customers and getting feedback. We're not shy about making suggestions, and it's very reassuring to know that he not only listens but often acts on what he hears from customers. He actually reads the reviews posted and considers the comments without his ego getting bruised. Food: Appetizers - The JAC rogamole is good, but you have to be a big fan of bleu cheese. The two finger tacos have a wonderful flavor but I'd like a little touch of salsa added. The ahi tuna tacos were perfect as an appetizer-loved them. Love the Mini Mi pulled pork sliders. One of John Besh's eateries in New Orleans has a great one, but we actually think these are better. Sandwiches - The Acme Brick Cuban sandwich is great; the sweet pickle adds just the right touch of tang. The turkey 'n' bourbon cranberry sandwich is also great; you can't go wrong with this one. One of our companions raved about his burger. I've had both the Caesar, in which you could really taste the hint of anchovy (as you should in a real Caesar salad) and the FM salad, which is fresh and tasty. The first time I ordered it, the salad had too much dressing, and I told the chef when he was making his rounds. Next time, I asked for the dressing on the side, but another person in our party did not and I noticed a modification had been made where it did not overwhelm the greens. Mains - The Stella Artois fish and chips are fabulous - nice crispy batter, moist filets, and not greasy as fish and chips can sometimes be. First time we ordered it, my husband asked for cocktail sauce, even though it comes with an excellent homemade tartar sauce. They couldn't accommodate him that night, so he suggested to the chef that they offer both. Each time since, he's asked for cocktail sauce & out it comes. We tried a special one night - a flounder dish in a cream sauce, and although it was good, the fish itself had a stronger flavor than we prefer. Having never actually had flounder before, it may just be a characteristic of flounder. Last night, I had the cremini ribeye, and it was wonderful - cooked to perfection, full of flavor - and the mushrooms were delicious, cut to just the right size to absorb the sherry and juices of the steak. The gruyere scalloped potatoes that accompanied it were also delicious. I think the flavor of the gruyere makes this special. Desserts - If you like bread pudding, don't forego this. Tell your server early on because it's made just for you, NOT something scooped out of a pan, having been made earlier, warmed up, and then doused with a sauce. This arrives piping hot in a small crock. It has just the right touch of apples and chocolate. Most everyone raves about the jalapeno bacon ice cream, but last night I had the Boy Scout caramel corn ice cream. If I could have licked the bowl, I would have. Seating: Have sat at the community table twice-nice concept. Have sat at the banquette & enjoyed being able to watch all the activity in the restaurant. Have sat in both the main dining room & the back room. One reviewer complained about the smoky air. This is so true in Mexican restaurants, but I haven't found that to be the case here. If you find the main dining area too loud or worry about the kitchen aromas, ask to be seated in the back dining room where it's quiet and well away from the open kitchen. Wait staff: On our first visit, early afternoon on a Sunday shortly after the restaurant opened, we saw an inordinate number of wait staff & talked about how expensive it must be in the beginning to be paying so many people when the restaurant was just getting started. But that was a wise decision on the part of the owners because no matter how good the food is, bad service can sink a restaurant. Last night, it looked like all the training and tweaking has paid off. We've had Stacy twice now. She's knowledgeable about the menu, makes excellent recommendations, gets the order just right, and does it all with the perfect demeanor for a server. Our food was brought to the table by others, but Stacy followed through checking immediately to see if everything came out perfectly. It might be a good idea to make a reservation on busy weekends, as word has spread on how good they are. Monday night are half price wine till 9pm, a good value. Have eaten here five times now. Both for lunch and dinner. Very good meal each and every time...absolutely no complaints.....and I am not one to say that lightly. So tickled to have an upscale eatery in this location. i keep going here because of friends family raving about it. everytime i leave wishing i hadnt gone. everytime theres an issue with my drinks( taste like strong mold, to spicy to drink, never receive them) i have not had 1 drink that tasted good except a glass of wine. not just my opinion everyone at my table experienced this. if your charging 10+ for a drink you need to deliver quality and consistency. food is overpriced for the taste. this is only restaurant in keller thats constantly a disappointment for me. read more

Well, my fellow salad lovers. I ate here a year ago and had a Cesar salad that would sadden Rome. One year later, we visited again. For 10$ you are given 4 leaves of romain. Yes friends - 4. Friday night I decided to treat my husband to a special night out for his birthday. We arrived around 7pm and not to or surprise it was already flowing with locals. We were seated promptly after our 15 minute wait and were offered some very unique cocktails. Being the wine drinkers we are, we started off with a bottle of Rodney Strong Chardonnay, which was reasonably priced. I ordered the Gilroy Roasted Chicken, served with scrumptious sauteed florentine and & "smashed" potatoes. Mind you the chicken was very moist and perfectly seasoned. My husband enjoyed the Flat Iron Steak. Both entrees were absolutely delish. For dessert we enjoyed the dark chocolate and granny smith apple bread pudding. It is baked fresh to order and took about 25mins to get to our table, but we were informed ahead of time. It was defenitely worth the wait. So flavorful and sweet, topped off with a bourbon sauce. My mouth waters as I think about it. All in all we were thoroughly amazed. From the wine prices to the food to the friendly waitstaff and comfortable, cozy atmosphere, it makes for a wonderful dining experience. All of the produce is fresh right from our very own farmers market fyi!! I will definitely be going back for more, as I'm just too thrilled to try other things on their unique menu. We started with the J.A.C. and Roqamole, which was excellent...and then continued with various entrees...which were all fabulous! What is great about FnG is the individualized service, the unique food choices and the ability to have an incredible meal at a really great price in my hometown of Keller. This restaurant just keeps getting better & better. We have tried almost everything on the menu and a few of the specials as well. Tonight, Monday, (& Sunday) is "1/2 off bottle of wine night" and we ordered a medium pricey Raymond Cab and it was excellent. Paired with the Rib Eye and Gruyere Potatoes made for a warm, comfortable meal. Then Chef Bob (as promised because I've been whining at him about them since he keeps posting pictures on Facebook) cooked up some of the Jalepeno Bacon Chocolate Chip cookies that he has used for the new client samples. As echoed by the bartender, O.M.G.!!! The heat of the pepper is perfect with the bacon & chocolate. Need some help to pressure him to put these on the menu!! We will be back!!!! read more

I cannot say enough good things about FnG Eats. My husband and I moved to Keller earlier this year and it was the first place we tried. We have since had trouble passing it up to go try somewhere new! We eat Paleo most of the time and are able to stick to the basic idea of meat and vegetables when we come here by substituting sides. The menu is definitely not for picky eaters and has a variety of unique dishes with sometimes unusual flavors that change with the seasons. The staples always stay the same but most of the menu reflects what can be gotten fresh and in season. But we love the freshness, the care and the attention given to every plate. The chef is very involved garnishing and sending out each plate as well as trying to take the time and visit some guests at their tables. A few favorites from the menu include the Ahi Tuna Tacos, all the sandwich/salad options (burger, turkey bourbon, steak tip salad, chicken salad), Scottish Salmon with matchstick veggies and the fish and chips. The bread pudding is to die for! We've never had bad service and I hate that some reviewers have! We have gotten a few less than energetic people who aren't as passionate about the restaurant or food as much as others... But never straight out bad service. Please try this place for yourself and order something you feel confident you'll like before judging for yourself! read more

I've been eating here with my family for the past 3+ years. Shame on me for the impetus to write this review, but the truth is that I saw on yelp FnG was averaging 3 1/2 stars. I'm sorry, but I know every restaurant in the Keller/Southlake/Grapevine/Colleyville area and there is no way this restaurant should be rated that low. First, the quality of the food is legit 5 stars on its own. Atmosphere should be an easy 5 star, especially given its peers ratings and those atmospheres which I don't enjoy nearly as much. However, on top of those important aspects of a dining experience, I believe their service is their best attribute. Our favorite, is Richard who has now taken on a larger managerial type role. However, that has not stopped him from the same personal service and sincere care he has shown my family. However, it has been the same consistent level of outstanding service and quality that keeps us coming back. FnG is a no risk, great meal, great night out. They deserve to be a 5 star restaurant. read more

We were excited about having Sunday Brunch at FnG. We had a wonderful weekend and choose this place for our last meal together before everyone left. There were 5 of us. Apparently 5 is the unlucky number at this place. We requested a table not a booth. The restaurant was not at all busy. We were told we could not have a table & had to sit in a booth. When I said no we don't want a booth. There are many vacant tables. I was then told no we don't not put the tables together. We have tables for 4 & for 6. They finally seated us at a table that was half booth even though I was saying " no we don't want to sit there". I finally said " I will not cone back here again ". He still seated us in the booth. The service was slow. Our drink glasses remained empty most of the meal. The food was mediocre at best. Save yourself the money & irritation. Go to Steak & Shake! It's way better food & much more accommodating. read more

I stopped in tonight with a few girlfriends and let me just say it was one of the best dining experiences I have ever received right when walking in I was greeted by very friendly hostesses that welcomed me with nothing but smiles I was then seated and greeted by my server Juan who was very informative and willing to help me on finding things to eat since I'm a vegetarian it was very refreshing to see so many items available to me since not a lot of places in Keller offer that! We ate there for the 1st time I had The Bomb Chicken my wife had the Chicken Cesar salad. The Bomb chicken was for sure a "bomb" not very flavorful and was very dry. I don't know if it was over cooked or just in reheat mode too long. The salad was quite good with a little spiciness. I would expect more for $13. The atmosphere was very nice and the service was good also. Drinks were over priced. $8 for mid grade vodka and soda. Too many many fine places to go to in the area, won't go back to FnG's . We always give the local establishments the 1st chance at our business will pass this one by. read more

My wife and I ate at FnG for the first time tonight and Wow...outstanding! The freshness of the ingredients, the balance of flavors, and the impressive presentation rival any high-end restaurant, but at a reasonable price. We can't wait to come back again. Oh, and the Cherry/Chocolate Bread Pudding was killer good. I travel all over the US for my job and dine at a lot of restaurants, and rarely do I find a restaurant as good as FnG. I've been to FnG several times now, and have been more impressed with each visit. FnG has one of the best cheeseburgers around. The soups and salads are very good. Today I went for brunch for the first time. I had the pot roast Benedict, and it was fantastic. We can take our kids for lunch (they're picky but they love the kids menu), and we can go for appetizers and drinks without kids on a Friday night. As a Keller resident, I love that I have a place nearby where I can get consistently good food that isn't a chain. But I'd also be willing to drive a lot farther for this kind of quality. read more

This place was one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. I had the post roast and it was so very good. We sat at the chef's table and the chef engaged in conversation with us and even gave us samples of what he was preparing. My husband had the pork chop and it was also amazing. Just attended a special event at fng, party of 10. The evening was great with friends and family until the end when I poured my own glass of wine. The owner chose to ridicule me in front of the room by announcing that the dinner was done and that it was not a free for all. Instead of telling our hosts, who are regulars there, that they would need to charge us for the glass of wine, chose instead to embarrass me in front of the other patrons in the room.. we later called the owner Bob, who made no apologies and insisted that I was wrong. Maybe so, there was not a server around and the special event was held in the back room, apart from the rest of the restaurant, and I assumed that had a server been there, she would have happily poured me more wine. Fighting tears, we left. You would have thought he would have just charged us for the wine rather than ridiculing me in front of the other patrons. Food is ok, Bob, the owner is an ass. A $700.00 plus bill and he chose to embarrass a patron rather than just charge for the wine. Will not be back! read more

Went to this restaurant last Saturday evening 1-24-15. I ordered the Prime Rib supposed to be the house special for the evening. The steak was tough and definitely not prime cut of meat. My wife ordered the stuffed chicken. It was very dry and tough. My daughter had the ribs which did not have the membrane removed from the backside. BBQ 101 every chef knows to take the membrane off before cooking. I would say this place has good concepts, but poor quality and execution. $28 for a prime rib that was about a $10 quality. To make matters worse, the waiter twice brought me peach flavored tea when I kept telling him I wanted just plain non flavored iced tea. Poor attention to details. We wont be going back. read more
