This was the first restaurant we visited while in the area for a wedding. It's a local restaurant. At first we thought it was a chain, it's not! It's owned by two chefs. Very cool! We sat at the bar. There wasn't many people inside at the time. It filled up a little later. Quiet inside when we first arrived. It was nice. Our bartender, Taylor, & later, Hunter. 10/10 for service. We ordered the Cracklins to start. They came out quickly. They were crackling!! Lol. Made fresh to order. Nothing frozen. The dipping sauce was also amazing!! 10/10 We ordered the blackened salmon. It came with seasonal veggies and a saffron butter. It was cooked perfect. A little on the small side but so good. 9/10. We would try a different main dish next time. I really want to love this place, it's my favorite food genre, has great service, cool atmosphere, local ownership, close by, etc. But the food just doesn't wow me. I've visited FnG twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. The burger was really good, though not special. The home-made chips were fun, but lacked any interesting dips. For dinner we tried the Gibson Steak Salad, which was good and fresh. She had the 25 HP Village Pasta, which was unfortunately bland. At $21.50 the flavor needs to punch. We asked for something else, which the server was happy to provide. She went with two sides: garlic mashed potatoes and a bacon broccoli side that came with a special. Both were very good. I think what I want for four stars from FnG is for every menu item to have some flavorful flare. Currently it has color & interest, but the dishes do not all deliver. For an American (New) place, this is a star-worthy foul in my opinion. It plays like the Steak & Ale crowd's idea of American (New), while lacking the true risk taking that makes the genre fun. As an additional observation, most of the well-reviewed places in Keller are like this (with a few notable exceptions like Devivo Bros, Cafe Medi, Aladdin). So it may be that FnG knows it's market better than I do. For foodie adventure, it seems one has to look outside Keller, but not far as the surrounding cities are replete with choices! read more

We no longer live nearby so we hadn't been in a while but we found ourselves back in the neighborhood and dripped in for lunch. Wow, even better than ever! The menu evolves and stays super current. We began with Cholula pulled pork deviled eggs, I had the blackened redfish bunless sandwich with sweet potato fries then we split a flourless chocolate cake topped with cinnamon ice cream. I may skip dinner! We didn't have wine since it was lunch but the beer, wine & spirits list is great. Best independent restaurant in Northeast Tarrant County to me. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Keller. It is upscale enough for business dinners or special occasions yet casual (and in expensive) enough for a weekday lunch. Chet's Bob and Carlos are long-time friends and restaurant coworkers. Over the last decade, they have built a solid local following with good food and unique specials. Their back-room is probably the only restaurant meeting room in the area. This was a wet, cold day and we enjoyed tomato bisque soup with a warm, perfectly prepared Mimi panini as well as a primananna- smoked prime rib served with aus jus and horseradish sauce. They feature Texas distilled alcohols and in the Winter months offer a wine dinner once a month. Cozy and comfortable atmosphere and also have a space perfect for parties. Be warned of the different menus for brunch (only available for the weekend), lunch (limited to mainly burgers and sandwiches), and dinner. I was really craving brunch food when I went on a Friday, but I settled for the Reubenesque. It came with a blue cheese salad which was light and helped with the greasiness of the sandwich. But it's definitely not worth the $13 price in my opinion. The smokiness of the restaurant is a bit off putting as I left the place smelling like I've been at a campfire for the rest of the day. I understand that it's a bit of an extensive fix but it's a complaint that I've seen on Yelp reviews for a while now. I really hope they fix it soon because I'd love to come back at give it another try. Overall, it's a decent lunch spot for those who don't mind the smoky smell and spending a bit more. We went in on a Wednesday evening and we were sat immediately by the super friendly hostesses. Honestly, I was completely unprepared for how delicious this food was going to be. We started off with a tropical mocktail and it was crisp and fresh. The fried goat cheese came with a delicious sauce, the cornbread chicken and waffles, while it looked a bit crumbly and flat when it came out, tasted AMAZING with the syrup. The black pepper pasta was packed with flavor and the salad was huge! The one gripe I had was that we tried the jalapeño bacon chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich and it was just not good. The cookie had a very bad texture and the flavor was only heat. The cinnamon ice cream it came with was ok but it was an enormous scoop in comparison to the cookie and very hard. Only thing was that the service was terrible, our waiter seemed to be more concerned regarding the tables around us. He took forever to get to us for our order and our food took forever to come out, which I can understand may have been a kitchen problem. But even when we were done, we actually had to wave him down for a to-go box and for our check. Meanwhile, we noticed he was continuously checking on the tables surrounding us. Tried FnG for the first time last night. I wasn't "wowed". We started with the flatbread appetizer. Apparently, the toppings vary each week. Ours had pesto, chicken, artichokes, diced red onion, tomatoes and lots of cheese - it was wonderful! I had high hopes for the rest of the meal at this point. My fiancé had the angel hair pasta and enjoyed it. I had the Reuben with potato salad. The sauerkraut on the Reuben was made with red cabbage. I've never had it that way before. It was ok but not great. The potato salad was pretty dry IMO, so again, not great. We decided to sample 2 desserts. The flourless Nutella chocolate cake was dense, as expected, with a really deep chocolate flavor - a little too "chocolaty" for me (I didn't even know there was such a thing as having too much chocolate flavor!). The no bake cheesecake was a little better, I think. The cheesecake portion was really good. Nice and fluffy. The crust was made with brown sugar and almond. It was thicker than I would have liked. Someone told me a week or so ago that they have brunch, but I do not see a menu in their website. I'd be interested in checking out their brunch menu, but I probably won't return for dinner. This use to be my favorite place to go for a meal. Haven't been there in about a year or so until today for lunch. I had the FM salad and added salmon. I paid $27 without tip. It was highway robbery! I had a big bowl of mixed greens, a tablespoon of goat cheese, less than a dozen pecans and a 4-6 oz piece of salmon that was overcooked. The salad by itself was $14. I know food is expensive but seriously this has a cost of about $3.00. Add the salmon for $11. Which isn't outrageous but still a little pricey for lunch. Came here for a friend's birthday brunch with a party of 8. Everything was hit and miss. The food: Smoked Brisket Benedict - brisket was dry, bread was dry (supposed to have garlic butter on it, did not see any), eggs were great, bearnaise was great BUT the menu description said BBQ bearnaise. I have no idea what made it BBQ. It had a bunch of smoked paprika on it, but I don't think that qualifies. Venison Chili Bison Burger - bison was cooked a little past medium, but was still juicy, plenty of cheese, onions, and pickles. But it didn't come with any chili. We had to ask for it on the side. It was awesome, but would have been nice to have from the start. Got the fries on the side, though, and I could have just eaten these all day. We also had a bite of a shared plate of Bourbon Caramelized Banana French Toast. VERY good, though I can't imagine ordering this for breakfast, only a dessert. The service: it seems our waitress forgot to put in one of the orders for our table. Seven of us had our brunch in front of us while one had to wait for his to be rushed through the kitchen. She was also not terribly friendly, but I suppose she was decently attentive - coffee, water, and condiments were all brought promptly when asked, even with how busy they were. The prices: I think $9 for the french toast and $17 for the bison and venison burger with fries is fair, but $15 for my sad, small benedict was definitely too much. I am on the fence about everything here, so three stars is quite fitting. I wouldn't turn down the chance to return and try more food here, though, especially for dinner. Pecan chicken salad was great. Dressing was delicious and not too sweet, paired real nice with the pecan chicken. Ludo dip is the bomb. So simple and so dang good. The amount of spice is just right too. The potato soup was also perfect. Wish I had more space for it. Bartender whipped up an amazing custom beverage for us on this very chilly day. Great food and atmosphere. Never had a bad meal. Solid team behind the cooking line. Owners still could learn how to take care of their repeat customers better. Plenty of times the owners keep the booths open for larger parties when the restaurant is practically empty, even on slower days during the week, and coming in for an early dinner. I've sat too often at a table in the center, when I'd prefer the comforts of a booth while I watched those booths remain empty beyond my dinner and requesting the check. I still go because the cuisine is good, the waiters know fairly well how to describe the menu, and the cooking staff is excellent. Nice little spot in Keller town square. I couldn't figure out what to eat when staying there and this was across the street from the Hampton inn where we were staying. The deviled eggs are bomb! They have a Texan kick to it with caramelized onions and bbq type of sauce. Very tasty if you like deviled eggs. The angel hair pasta was decent. Light sauce and lot of veggies. The only thing was the chicken was dry. Drinks are strong good bang for buck. Nice outdoor seating available too which is what we opted for. Although it was bit cool outside, we opted for the patio because the noise level inside was a bit more than we wanted (our only complaint). They have some interesting recipes not normally found elsewhere without being over the top insane. The Meatloaf is a Meat Loaf, as in a hardy portion of meat without the traditional chunks of vegetables packed inside covered with ketchup. The brown gravy on top is worthy of some type of bread to make sure you get every drop. The PrimaNaana is something I have never had anywhere else and is very tasty indeed. Yes, they have paper straws, but they are a coated type which is the best I have ever come across. Overall a great place to sit down and have an interesting meal. read more
